we were not happy with the lack of strict protocols like wearing masks and distancing. is there no curfew in a resort? loud drunken noise woke us up at 1 am. housekeeping needs to improve on cleanliness in the room.

This resort is very pricey! Not worth the price we paid. All you get is a room that is old and clogged drainage at the bathroom! (SEE PHOTOS ATTACHED) I reported it upon check out but no reaction or a sorry from the receptionist. Service is too slow especially when ordering food (took about 40-50 minutes before the food is served) Not a friendly resort as you need to take 54 steps before you arrive at the resort amenities. My kids told me that this is the worst beach resort for them! No TV, weak wifi signal and rooms are not well maintained, there are lots of busted lights plus the clogged bathroom and shower room. Wrong billing! Upon check out they are charging us the breakfast which should have been included already with the room, and another rice platter which we did not ordered. Heard another guest on the next counter that there was also a wrong billing to them, so better check it as there might have so many wrong charging here! Save your money and look for a much worth it resort nearby.

Staffs are good, the place is also relaxing but the food? Nevermind just bring your own snack if they will allow you, overall NOT WORTH your MONEY. The price for day tour is P1100++ including the buffet lunch, but we CAN’T almost eat the food that they served us..POOR QUALITY!!!!!Majority of the guests were complaining..We often visit LA LUZ because of its cozy place and nice buffet (before), actually its my 5th time here and might be the LAST because of my last experience.

If you are looking for a serene place to chill with your barkada, or maybe a couples get-away (which what we did) or even better with the whole family, this is the place to be. First, it is very near the Metro. No need to travel that far to get this kind of view and relaxation. It just took us 3 hours to get to the resort. (we travel by a motorcycle, btw) Next, upon arriving at the resort, they had this "welcome drinks" that is really refreshing. Btw, we got a promo that time for a bed and breakfast that was soo sulit given for the price. (better like their fb page to keep an eye on their promos) How refreshed we were when we reached downstairs and saw the beach. We were greeted happily by their staffs. Finally we were assisted to our room. And contrary to other reviews, we were amazed by the room. It was very spacious. The rustic style of the room suits my taste. Perfect for the beach view. They also offer massage at the resort. You can have it on your rooms or even have it on their cabanas. (we had ours at the cabanas) Food is also good! Not too many food choices, but it was okay. And of course, the BEACH!! Perfect! It is situated last on the long stretch of Laiya shoreline which makes it kind of exclusive plus the rock formation that makes it perf for pictorials and even beach weddings. Btw, there's a minor construction ongoing for their swimming pool which I think will be done by the end of January 2020. (which I look forward to) Over all, it was a great and relaxing experience from the beach, the people, the place and the ambiance. Will certainly go back to this paradise.

Booked a 1 night stay for my family of 5- 2 adults and 3 kids (5 yo and under) Please note that we stayed during off-peak season and on weekdays (monday to Tuesday) so our experience relies heavily on that, I think. La Luz exceeded my expectations since I read several negative reviews about the place before getting there. I must admit I felt a bit of regret after booking because of those negative reviews. But after our stay, I must say it was overall a great experience. *Check-in: it was pretty smooth. They quickly noted the important rules such as the types of food we can't bring inside. Also that availing the buffet food package was mandatory. More on that later. They served welcome drinks - banana flavored juice-- which my kids loved. It was ok for me, a bit weird for my taste. Some staff promptly helped carry our stuff. We arrived earlier around 10 am so it was way before the 1 pm check in time. We were asked to wait at one of their Cabanas, which was comfy enough. After around 15 minutes, we were told our room is ready. Early check-in, yay! Room: 4/5. I read some reviews that it looked old and poorly maintained, even with cockroaches. Also read that the shower has no heat. I was really afraid of getting such a room. I was pleasantly surprised that our room was very nice. The shower room and CR were very clean as well. The room seems well maintained. The AC worked great. The beds are comfy. There's adequate storage - they are open shelves. No closets, which is fine with me. Easier access. It was a very comfy room. The only things I wish it had were a TV and hooks or rods in the shower room for hanging clothes and towels. Yep no TV. Good thing we brought entertainment stuff for the kids. Overall, very comfy and adequate. Food: 4/5. I also read here how the food is mediocre, some even saying it's bad and definitely not worth the price. To me there was enough selection, and the taste is pretty good. My kids loved it, and they're picky eaters. About the buffet meal package, it does seem pricey. It's 1700 per head for 4 meals: bfast, lunch, merienda, dinner. Good thing our kids were free. We actually brought A LOT of snacks for our kids. I was afraid we'll get charged corkage, but good thing snack foods are allowed. They don't allow sodas and liquor. My husband's Gatorade wasn't allowed 😅. We're not sure why since juices are allowed. Which is a relief because we also brought some flavored milk for the kids. We also brought cup noodles for our lunch for the next day since the meal package is only until bfast. The dining area is clean. They even have high chairs for small kids. They do need improvement on refilling food. There were very few guests during our stay but they were still quite slow in replenishing food. When it comes to serving schedules, they were quite early. For dinner, we arrived 30 minutes early and the food was all ready and we were allowed to eat. One thing I do wish is that they serve coffee during snack time. I believe they usually serve rice cakes and coffee would be great with it. Beach: 4/5. My husband and I actually first went to La Luz around 6 years ago. I forgot that the sand there is a bit coarse and not very fine. It can be uncomfortable for bare feet. But the entire beach is clean and the water is clear. We saw some fish even on shallow water. My husband was quite happy with the beach, considering he's been to a lot. It was picturesque and very relaxing. Do note though that there are ants on the sand in some areas, mostly around the Cabanas. So be careful dropping food stuff. The ants can show up pretty quick. So make sure to throw any food wrappers or clean out big crumbs. Good thing they have a lot of trash bins around the place. Staff/Service: 4.5/5. I read some reviews that the staff were not very attentive or prompt. I am quite delighted that the staff during our stay were very attentive, friendly, and accommodating. I especially liked the dining hall staff. They were so kind to our kids, even though they get quite rowdy 😅 especially our youngest who would run around a lot. The staff greeted and even made some small talk with them. The staff were generally helpful as well. One thing I didn't like is it took some time before we were given towels. That should be in the room right away and considering that it's a beach resort, towels are needed right away. Good thing I brought some towels that we were able to use right away. I had to follow up on the towels before it came. Oh, about the room. I wish we were given a room that was closer to the main beach, Considering we had 3 small kids. There was an ongoing construction of a pool on our side of the resort so we didn't have access to the beach in front of our room. We had to walk some distance before reaching the dining hall and the beach. There seemed to be vacant rooms closer to the beach so I don't know why they had us stay in that room. Anyway, it's a minor inconvenience. Overall we enjoyed our stay. I dont usually bother writing reviews but I was compelled to do this because I believe La Luz deserved a great review. I do recommend it.
