I have placed a supplier from overseas in this hotel. I live in Tamarin and have visited the hotel for lunch on four separate occasions to celebrate friend's birthdays. The setting is absolutely stunning, the hotel is clean. The service is shocking, almost non-existent at times ie: having to call a waiter every time one wanted a drink. On every occasion I have been there about 50% of the drinks and wine list is not available. 30% of the food items on the menu are not available, seriously ! Four glasses of 125ml wine (cheap wine ) cost Rs1000. On our last visit over December, everyone complained about their food except the two that had curry. I have never had a manager come and see what the problem is or even stop for a courtesy chat to see if all is good. Save yourself the frustration and money, and go picnic on the beach

The hotel is a small one, but really nice and clean - right on the beach and if you're looking for a place to relax and enjoy the water - this could be the one. I liked the breakfast, it was delicious and you can serve it under the big beautiful tree on the beach. You can also have dinner there, and it's really nice so close to the water. The rooms are clean, the staff is really friendly, they speak english and french and they helped us arranging for a taxi to take us to the airport. I only gave 4 stars because we arranged with them to send us a taxi to the airport at arrival and they didn't. We waited there for an hour and we had to take a taxi from there - it was more expansive, of course. Downsides - but not because of the hotel: - there's nothing else to do in the area. No place to rent a boat or to buy excursions, nothing. There's a public beach next to the hotel, but nothing on the beach - no sunbeds, no umbrellas, no place you could buy some water or fruits or an icecream. Nothing. Only if you're staying at the hotel's beach you can serve something from the restaurant. - not a lot of restaurants around. But we found the best one where we went almost every evening - Medium Rare Steakhouse. We tried almost everything in the menu and it was very very tasty - you have to try the seafood combo and the steaks, really good. - the only way you can get out of there is if you rent a car. We rent it online for 5 days, they brought it to the hotel and they took it back from the hotel, too. We also bought the excursions online and we drove to the pick up place, usually in the North or in the East. But be aware of the traffic, we missed one excursion in the North because of the crowded area of the capital - a lot of roads changed and the GPS did not know about it. Don't relay on the time the GPS tells you it will take to get in the North, add another 1.5 hours to be safe and avoid the capital. - Le Morne it's a must - we got to the top although it was a little rain in the morning. The rocks are not slippery, only the mudd was but it was easy for us comparing to the mountains in our country. - always always take mosquito repellent with you.

We came here for our honeymoon and soon as we arrived we instantly got upgraded because of it - to the sunset room. I can say it was great start for our vacation ;) We were impressed from the kindness of the staff and the manager. They were amazing! La Mariposa from the outside doesn’t seem so great... but after you go in it’s so clean and welcoming! We were really shocked. We got to our room and the room was very big and beautiful. It acutely comes with a small kitchen and a spaces bathroom. The bed was like laying on a cloud because it was so soft. The only bad thing I can say it’s that the WiFi single was horrible. You have to Go outside just to send a message because there is no reception in the room from what reason it may be. To summon up my thoughts - I will really recommend this place for couples or family’s. We saw them both here so that won’t be a problem :) Enjoy!

We stayed here for two nights at the end of our trip. It was such a treat! The apartments are beautiful - new/clean and very elegant. The garden/outdoor area was so cool - I wish I could have a garden like this! The rooms were incredibly clean with very nice natural light. The view of Le Morne from our room was an extra bonus. I would and already have recommended this to all my friends. The customer service was also really good.
