The title kinda says it all. We stayed an additional 3 day because it was so wonderful. This is absolutely a labour of love by the owners who are as sweet as can be. AC was cold, hot water was exactly that, the staff were all friendly and helpful and the bed was as comfy as my own!! It's a short trike ride to the action in Alona with the benefit of tranquility when you return!! Lovely place!!!

Villa de Gloria was by far the best accommodation I have had on my vacation in the Philippines. The property is beautiful, with a great view of the sea and a lovely garden around the pool area. The owners (Ernie and Gloria) are incredibly kind, and treated me like a member of the family. I cannot say enough good things about them. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The food is excellent.

It's a wonderful place to get away for some quiet relaxation. It's accessible to Tagbilaran, and also to Alona beach, but away from the traffic and crowds.

4.5 is my overall rating to this resort. We trusted to the only review of this resort in tripadvisor and stayed here for three nights and I say this resort deserves more attention by tourists. Villa de Gloria is an almost three years resort located on a rocky beach just about 10 minutes driving from downtown but away from all hassles. The view is amazing and by walking down the stairs you can access to the sea if you want to swim. However the sea bed is covered by plants which is not comfortable to walk on them. Janet and other staff are very friendly and hospitalized and always ready to help. This resort has three sea view rooms in the second floor of the lobby and 8 villas. Price range starts from 1900 pesos to 3500 pesos breakfast included. We stayed in a villa which had two balconies one with sea view and one with garden view and that was great. Fare for this one was 2500 pesos. We stayed with them during the Christmas but other than us there were just one more room occupied. They don’t offer the lunch menu but instead they cook a local Filipino meal based on guest requests which is delicious and costs about 500 pesos for two. If you want to stay with them call them in advance for possibility of a pick up because some taxi drivers doesn’t know the address. For going to downtown they arrange car for 600 pesos return which is expensive for Tagbilaran. They said they can arrange for tricycle as well which I guess is cheaper than car. I recommend you to bring your drink and whatever you need to avoid unnecessary trips. I also, recommend to the manager to make a set menu for meal and make it easier for guests to decide. We were a bit misunderstood and thought that this resort doesn’t serve food and had to go back to city and buy food for all duration of our staying. The other guest of the hotel also had the same misunderstanding and brought all their meal. If I visit Tagbilaran I definitely stay with them again.

The resort is situated in a very quiet location on Panglao island and is about 5 km from Tagbilaran city. As the location is remote a good option would be to hire a car or motor bike for getting out and about. The resort is located on the edge of a cliff but you can get to swim in the sea via stairs that descend to a bamboo platform, however, there is no beach

I stayed at the resort for 4 nights in the Honeymoon villa. The room had a double bed, 2 bedside tables, 1 wardrobe, 2 chairs, small table and luggage rack. The a/c and fan kept the room cool and LCD TV was large enough to be seen from the bed. Also, there was ample storage for clothes in the wardrobe and personal items on the bedside table. The bathroom had a handbasin, toilet and shower, however, it was a bit small and no shelf was provided to store toiletries. In addition, the water pressure to the handbasin and shower was low and the lighting was poor. A point worthy of note was the 5 star quality of the bed linen and towels. I understand the they were imported from the USA where Ernie and Gloria lived before they returned to the Philippines.

The resort had a medium sized swimming pool plus a small pool for children. Apart, from a few deck chairs and two small umbrellas situated on timber decking next to the pool there is no shady sitting area. This could be a problem if a large number of people were staying at the resort.

The owners of the resort Ernie and Gloria were great hosts and could not do enough for me. They provided a pickup service from my hotel in Tagbilaran and dropped me at the ferry terminal when I departed Bohol. They also collected me from Tagbilaran when I returned my rented motor bike. Ernie’s hospitality even extended to sharing his USA imported Maxwell house coffee with me at breakfast.

Overall, I had a pleasant stay at Villa de Gloria and would recommend it to anyone seeking a few days in quite location with wonderful views of the ocean.

The property is absolutely wonderful, great views, access to the sea, paddle boards and kayaks available to explore the area around the resort. Janet and the guest service staff took our meal selections in advance and meals were served hot and tasted great. There is a "when you are here you are family" feeling that made us feel so welcome and comfortable during our stay. Private Land and Water Tours were arranged for us, the guides we spent time with were wonderful people as well. They also set up a scooter rental for us, the scooter was dropped off and picked up at Villa de Gloria, it was very convienient. The time we spent at Villa De Gloria was the highlight of our 2 weeks island hopping in the Philippines. We can not recommend this place highly enough. Book an extra night because you will want to stay longer then you planned.

This hotel is in the middle of nowhere. To find it you have to negotiate nearly 0.75km along a rough unlit road.
The room we stayed in was adequate, clean yet small and overlooking the sea. Breakfast was very basic and, like their other meals had to be booked in advance. The jacuzzi was not working. Wi-fi into the room was totally unreliable and very weak. No information was available in the rooms regarding facilities. No phones in the room. The bar is not a real bar with no drinks on display or pricelists. No food menu or prices anywhere to be seen. If you want to eat out then you must travel into Tagbilaran which is 12km from hotel. Nothing closer. Shower uses sea water but probably filtered. Alona beach is a long way from the hotel. We hired a motorcycle or else you have to rely on the hotel to provide transport. We didn't eat an evening meal because you have to inform them and order your meal well in advance which is very inconvenient. No mini bar or prices. Limited complimentary coffee. Ours didn't get replaced over our two night stay. Very isolated and so many better places to be found near to Alona Beach. Would I recommend it to a friend? 100 per cent definitely not. Won't be going back.

Honeymoon villa at VdG is the best by far of all places we have been in the past. Food is well prepared and service is second to none. Both swimming pools are well designed and very clean. The panoramic view of the pacific ocean surrounded by the mountains and the island of Cebu is heavenly especially at sunset. Landscape is so beautiful with greens and flowers. and its sweet listening music is the best selections of piano, pops and jazz. The owners, Gloria and Ernie are very friendly and very caring to their staff and their guests. We had extended for 3 more days and We will definitely return.

We were looking at a lot of different places to stay in Bohol and happened to choose Villa de Gloria. I'm very glad we did.

Their place is really nice, overlooking the ocean. The location is a bit hard to find at first, but it's easy after that. Its about 10-15 mins, by scooter, to the city center of Taglibaran. Its about a 40-45 min scooter ride to Alona beach. 2 hours ride to Chocolate hills... by scooter. (TIP: If you don't want to ride that long, hire a driver. But the experience is awesome if you want to ride on pretty much empty roads up and down the country side.)

Their service was really good and they made sure we were taken care of. They serve breakfast/lunch/dinner, have a laundry service, and BEER. For breakfast, there was always freshly brewed unlimited coffee, served right after it was made.

The owners were really nice and took care if us. They helped us get scooters, tell us where to get the best exchange rate and also directions to places. I highly recommend staying at their place, as it is a convenient location. Very quiet and secluded, yet close to the main city.

PS: They also know a very good driver to get you anywhere you need to go for a really good price.

I cant give this place enough credit. The staff was sooo kind and well-mannered. Food was delicious and affordable with plenty of options. The owner genuinely wanted to get to know me and make sure I was 100% satisfied at all times. Security patrolling 24-7 gave me peace of mind. Boat, paddleboard, kayak, and motorbike rentals available on-site with competitive prices. Looks like many improvements still coming soon. Free karaoke and breakfast...why go anywhere else?!

VDG is an amazing property with significant potential. The primary staff: Janet, Mark, Servie and owner Ernie really make things work! The pool is cool and refreshing, the hot tub is warm(er) and relaxing. The food is great! Janet is respectful yet aggressively anticipates your every need from food to activities (excursions) to attempting to provide wise advice and counsel on tourist plans that may go awry. The bungalow is pleasantly spacious and comfortable. The only con I have has been mentioned before by other travelers: The location of this resort is between 35 and 45 minutes away from Alona Beach area. Thus the traveler must spend at least 600 php daily for ONE roundtrip to either the beach area or about 500 PHP to go into Tagbilaran. The resort does not at this time offer a complimentary or even discounted shuttle service. Having rented a motorbike I got lost every night I ventured out the gate. The lack of signage and poor roads were an absolute detriment to safe travel back and forth. The beach which is right beyond VDG is under construction. All in all I had a very relaxing week as a guest. Would I return? Only with shuttle service to all tourist areas.
