My wife booked 3 days and 2 nights after recommendations from a friend. I was somewhat apprehensive after reading the many reviews. Our airport transfer shuttle met us at the airport and the driver was very friendly and informative. The facility is somewhat isolated. Upon arrival we were greeted with a welcome drink, a shot glass with juice, nice gesture but weak. We were taken to our room which upon entering was musty and had a smelled of mold. I immediately said this will not do as I am sensitive to mold and choose not to subject my lungs to mold spores. They moved us to a larger room for an additional fee. I thought this was somewhat cheesy as there were only 3 guests in the entire facility. Better management would have just upgraded the room for free. The staff in general was friendly and accommodating. The facility is very nice and well kept however the gym is just bunch of equipment jammed in a room and not very functional. The pool is nice and clean. The beach is man made and floods over at high tide so don't expect much there. Prices for additional services are pretty high. They wanted 1,200 peso for a 60 minute massage, I got one for 500 peso just a short walk down the beach at the Bohol Bee Farm, and 300 peso at Alono Beach. Bottom line; if your with a group or couple and want to be isolated, it's a nice place but somewhat pricey in comparison. The staff is friendly. Personally I think ownership and management needs some schooling in hospitality. Seriously, with 3 customers in the entire resort of some 90+ rooms! you would expect management to bend over backwards to make your experience exceptional. There are an abundance of resorts along Alona beach with more choices of activities, restaurants, and better beach. Unfortunately, Flushing Meadows, while nice, did not do anything to make me want to come back. I'll stay at one of the many choices on the beach next time.

I've been in Bohol last April with my girlfriend. We stayed at Superior Federer. The room was good, it is near at the small pool and just a few step to the church. The Place was so refreshing to the eyes because of the ambiance, it is just like a paradise. The place is more on stairs too which make it more unique. I love the infinity pool, breath-taking because of over-looking view of the ocean. The Staff are friendly and accommodating. We'll be back for sure! Thank you Flushing Meadows for making our Bohol trip awesome!!

I was looking for a place where me and my husband can celebrate our 2nd wedding anniversary away from the busy life of a city......Fortunately I saw this promo from promo and immediately grab it. I did not expect for anything coz i know it is just a promo, meaning basic amenities and service.

But when we arrived, i was wrong......the service from the airport to hotel was on time. Our driver greeted us with a shell necklace with a tarsier pendant on it. The receptionist accommodated us well. Our room is so spacious, the amenities is completed.

Take note, me and my husband are the only guest in the resort but still, it was well maintained, very clean, very accommodating staff, serene place, very quiet and the breakfast was so good! We are always busog lusog!!!

A little piece of advice, before going to the resort make sure that you have an extra gallons of water in your room, (though they gave us a daily complimentary drinks). Better be sure because the sari sari store is quite far from the resort. and the laundry service was so expensive!!! The price was per piece and not by kilos.....im glad i brought enough clothes! =)

Overall.....it was a great place for a couple like us. A place where you can truly stay, sleep and relax. Truly...its more fun in the Philippines! #bangon bohol!

Thank you Flushing Meadows for the experience! We will definitely back and stay in your hotel!

I took my son to this resort for a 3 day getaway and his bday bash after christmas and it was awesome. Me and my son enjoyed the stay. The room was nice, clean and comfy, overlooking view of the ocean is a good one. My son likes the place as it has playground for kids. Very child friendly resort. We hope to get back to this place again soon! ☺️

The grounds are very nice. The staff is nice and helpful. The Internet is unreliable, slow and only available about 20% of the time from my room-#114. It seems there are a number of wireless routers around the property that connect through a very slow internet connection in the lobby. I understand that we are not in a big city, but I really expected more from a place of this price and apparent caliber in this day and age. The staff was very helpful in trying to reset the routers. But my thinking is the network was poorly designed on the cheap. The biggest disappointments are the water in the room smells like raw sewage. The hotel compensates by providing bottled drinking water and alerting the guests not drink from the tap. The biggest surprise and disappointment of all was just a few minutes ago after receiving my laundry bill. This morning we took a 5:30am snorkeling and dolphin watching trip which we booked through the hotel. As today was our last day at the resort, we dropped our laundry (3 days of shorts and t-shirts and socks, and underwear for one adult and two kids) off at the front desk at 5:00am for pickup this afternoon. When I returned, I was presented with a bill of $5,700 pesos and asked to sign it. I appealed to the front desk attendant and duty manager who both appealed to the owner on my behalf. The owner declined to modify the bill. Shame on me for not negotiating the price before dropping off my laundry. But even more shame on the owner for charging what he did.(I tried to upload a picture of the bill but couldn't access the photos from my phone)

Check out date: Dec.14, 2013

LOCATION: It's about 30-minutes away from tagbilaran airport. we had our service so travel to the hotel wasn't hassle. We passed by the Dauis Church Ruins and Tagbilaran-Panglao Bridge with cracks(but it's safe to use it, don't worry). We passed by the main road and then we turned left at Tinago-Dauis road if i remember correctly. The resort's at the tip of that road.

LOBBY/FRONTDESK: Lobby is fully-furnished, with christmas trees and other decorations. It also has a corner with merchandise such as swimwear and toys for sand castles.

LANDSCAPE: We were accompanied by the staff to our room which was a walk away from the lobby. We passed by a well-maintained graden with a big elephant statue! Our room was located in front of a clean tennis court.

There's also this dino park, kiddie park, sports bar, videoke center, duck house and of course, the beach front.

BTW, you'll see geckos at night in the walls at the garden area. Thus making it mosquito-free area.

BEACH FRONT: white sand, not as pure as Boracay's. Little shore.
Low tide - morning till 9am;you can walk as far as 10meters from the shore and the water's not that deep; High tide 9am-afternoon.

There's this cemented walkway to have a good full view of the ocean. Location's not that perfect when it comes to watching sunrise nor sunset(due to island location/orientation)

ROOM: Twin sharing. Fully furnished. Cable TV. ref with complimentary drinks and others for sale. Perfect.

We had an unforgetabble moment: we just got back to our room after diiner when we sa a gecko inside the bathroom! aaahh!! 5-6 inch-gecko! We immediately called the frontdesk staff to send someone to get it our of our room. We thought the gecko might have entered the room during room cleaning. The staff came with a sweep and dust pan and he easily managed to get it out of our room. =)

First time in bohol and was looking forward to see the place and have a little adventures..Everything was organized and ready for us,by the time we get there(so we thought),but wasn`t the case..We got up early the very next day to start seeing bohol and waited at the reception for our ride that supposed to be there waiting for us,but we ended up waiting for awhile at the reception for no rides and nobody at the receptions even bothered asking us,if they could help us in any way...Our excitement slowly disappeared and turn into abit of not so happy campers,if we could say that...We finally ask the reception if where is our ride, but they said its coming...Waited for another extra time(maybe another hour)if our ride is difinetely arriving..All of a sudden, the receptions were starting to make up story about our ride and trying to tell us that they didn`t know our ride...So,you can just imagine, how frustrated we were,or fuming or you know what...So,we ended up ringing our agent and pls explain story...So,the agent rang the flushing meadows and explain what was going on?..All of a suddened, the story from the reception change again from no ride to our ride was mistakenly given to another guests...So,you could just imagine, what went through our heads, let alone what comes out of our mouth...Were finally waiting for our ride, which it had to come from different place and its not one of thier cars...
Our ride finally arrived after hours of waiting...We had no idea if we were gonna be safe or what?knowing our ride and the driver isnt one of thier employee..So,to cut the very long story short..We started our experience with bohol disappointed...The place isnt worth the money your paying..There`s no other restaurant in the place..They see you coming too...You know what its like..Im no perfectionist, but i had better places...I had the oppotunity of seeing and dining at different places in bohol and the service are much much better and value for your money...You have lotsa choices of meals and few drinks(or whatever you fancy)near the beach, which you don`t get at flashing meadows...So,we ended up spending most of our time somewhere, than where we supposed to be relaxing where we were...We got to know a driver from another accomodation in bohol which kindly told us about the place abit more...Which is the alcatras..No transport nearby..No food to choose...Not many choices...Thanks to the driver from different accomodation that showed us around and very helpfull...Over all, bohol is nice and friendly people..If i was to go back to bohol,i WOULD`T be staying at flashing meadows...Count me out...

I usually don't bother writing reviews about my stays but this particular one was so terrible that I feel compelled to let other potential travellers know about it.

Despite the bad reviews found online, I still booked this hotel because it was the only one left with rooms available in early October. 2009. Only later did I understand the reason for this availability.

There had been clues which I failed to notice: the Flushing Meadows Resort and Playground (FMRP) has a name which is totally adequate: with its kinky dinosaur park and tennis court, it has more of an amusement park than a beach resort. The problem is if I had wanted to see colorful prehistoric animals and tennis balls, I would have gone to Queens (NY) rather than to the Word Class diving area which is Bohol.

Now let me summarize all my points so that you can make your own opinion:

The beach: the only stretch of sand, on the lower part of the resort, is so narrow that when the tide is up, there is no beach at all. Actually, the FMRP has probably managed to build the only resort in Bohol which turns its back to the sea.

Rooms: I am not sure what qualifies this resort for the 4-star rating but the rooms are so hideous that it forces you to stay outside. If you add to this the fact there was no hot water, that TV was not working properly, that there is no wireless connection, you cant fail but to wonder why the room rates are so outrageously expensive. It is all a matter of expectation: should the rooms were PHP1,000, I would have been lenient. But at PHP6,000 per night, you tend to be demanding.

Location: the problem is once outside with the dinosaurs, you cannot go anywhere because the resort is totally isolated. I only learned later that most resorts are located in Alona beach, which is further south, for the very good reason that this is the most beautiful stretch of beach on the island. And as a result, this is also where all the entertainments is (restaurants, bars, shops, dive centers and hotels) at a price approximately 5 times lower than in FMRP. Should you not believe me, please check the location of the resort on a map.

Dishonesty: I booked a double-bed Mc Enroe superior room at PHP6000/night , which was supposed to face the sea with a balcony. When I arrived, the staff led us without any warning to our room, which was a room facing the parking lot. Now, when I raised the issue of the twin beds, the staff just joined the 2 beds together. When I told them that it was not what I had booked, they told me there was no more double-bed room available (first lie). Given the high price tag, I still went and talked to the manager, who “managed” after I insisted to find me a real double-bed room . It is only later that I noticed that we had been assigned a Lendl bedroom, facing the parking lot, because the Mc Enroe rooms were facing the restaurant which was under renovation (second lie).

Food: the restaurant being under renovation, we had the pleasure to eat the exact same breakfast (scrambled eggs, bacon, sausages, rice, garlic rice and “tang”-like orange juice) every morning at the so-called “racket” cafe, facing the garden and turning its back, once again, to the sea. After that, the quality and price tag of the food being so bad, we decided to desert the place for all our meals.

Value for money: as explained above, not only the value-for-money verges on the scam, but it was not what I had paid for. Note that at some stage I thought I had lost the key to the room and they asked me PHP3,600 to replace it (yes, three thousand and six hundred pesos for a key, your eyes are not deceiving you). In addition, all the activities quoted (island hopping, countryside tour) are marked up 100% Vs outside rates.

My advice

First and foremost, do not set a foot in this resort. I have been staying in Asia for the last 10 years and I have never seen such a total scam. This is mostly due to extremely poor management and the staff are probably helpless.

Secondly, never pay anything in advance unless you are absolutely sure of what you get. I got stuck in this hotel because I had paid 7 nights in advance. Trust me, the feeling of being “held hostage” is not a nice one.

Thirdly, don't yield to panic about room availability: whereas all websites I had visited mentioned there was no room available, the fact on the ground turned to be very different. After renting a motorbike and touring the islands, I realized there were tens of resorts and hotels still available, with a much better location, for prices 4 to 5 times cheaper (but indeed, without the tennis court and the dinosaurs). Travel agents and resorts work hand in hand at the expenses of customs satisfaction and local, value-for-money resorts.

Finally, go local ! Tour the island yourself and mix with the locals. The Bohol people are extremely friendly. We had the great pleasure to meet a local young guide who brought us in his village to an annual fiesta (festival) and this is a very enjoyable memory that saved the day.

i had dream to have my wedding reception in one of bohol's finest resort FlUSHING MEADOWS RESORT and PLAYGROUND. . .January 5, 2013 when my dream was realized. . .For me and my husband it was a unique experience. . .From the food, venue, room, services all are PERFECT. . . .Delicious tasting not the usual menu, spacious wedding reception venue, clean comfy nice interior room, friendly accomodating staff and crew with service delux. . .We can really say that what we experience in the resort was far beyond expectation. . . Im truly wondering why there are negative comments with the resort. Indeed it is not a cheap resort for rates are much higher compared to other resorts but we pay what we get and its all worth the price. . .If in the future we will have another major celebration we would still choose to celebrate it in flushing meadows. . .we would really recommend this resort to our friends and all people who want to experience the treatment we had during our wedding and stay there. . .in behalf of my husband we would like to say THANK YOU to the owner staff and crew of Flushing meadows for being part of our wedding and for making it a very memorable event. . .u truly deserve an excellent rating :-)

Big mistake in selecting this resort. The staff are not trained to handle guest. The site is old. Food are over priced. example: an entree recommended for three people contain three small pieces of meat. Repairs are on going during dinner time and cement dust are flying all over the air.

If you want to ruin your vacation, stay in this resort.
