Sometimes you book a hotel and hit the jackpot. This was one of those times.. My wife and i wanted a nice quiet stay away from the tourist beach area that was reasonably priced. From the moment we were picked up at the airport we were welcomed and felt relaxed... The hotel and grounds are lovely, clean and lots of greenery! Our room was spotless, clean and beautifully decorated and well presented.. The staff were so lovely, polite and courteous at all times.. We have been twice and the second time it felt like going back home... The hotel was really quiet when we visited and we lounged by the lovely pool drinking San MIguel... I think the most wonderful time was watching some local orphan kids playing music downstairs in the restaurant.. We left feeling rejuvenated although i have to admit both times i was super upset to leave... A little bit of Paradise!

We were all girls on our trip to Bohol. We were picked up and shuttled to the port on time. We felt safe and comfortable. We had the 3 d 2 n accommodations, and it was a good deal! We also took their tour services. Everything was right on budget. We even got to dine with the owners who were really very pleasant and accommodating like their whole hotel staff. It was a great first experience of Bohol.

We had our family trip last January 2013. I also stayed here in January 2009. What I can say? This B&B is really a value for money. The staff offered great service. The location is nice and cozy. We had a good night sleep. The room is clean. Reasonable food prices. They will arrange tours for you. You won't have a second thought going back here.

We stayed at the Grand Luis in March 2014. Have to say that it didn't live up to the reviews that we relied on. Whilst the staff were friendly & helpful in general, we found at times that they operated the hotel in a way that suited them rather than the guests. Examples include insisting on playing loud music by the pool at night, in spite of requests to turn it down. The response was usually to inform us that it was policy only to stop the music at a certain hour (I think 9pm but not sure). Or the staff having a party in the pool at night, with very loud shouting & laughter continuing until 2am, at which point we were forced to go down & end the party.

As a plus, the building itself is well constructed & has character, with great views from upper levels. The hotel has potential but is not achieving it under the current management regime.

Me and my boyfriend stayed here last Nov.28-Dec.1,2011. We choose to have the Mountain View Room. Everything is all set for us. When we arrive at Tagbilaran Airport, the driver is already their to give us a lift going to the lodge. We are greeted by their friendly front desk and offer us our welcome drinks. The room is very clean when we arrive. We are welcome by the fresh sheets of the bed and the cool breeze from our veranda.

For me, it is perfect if you want to unwind, the place is so calm, very peaceful. You are surrounded by the trees and humming birds. If you want to have some outdoor activities you might love to walk around at their mini zoo, take a dip on their infinity pool that has Jacuzzi or play at their Tennis, Volleyball and Basketball court.

They also offer Spa Massage for a very reasonable price which can help you relax even more. :)

All in all, our stay is good. The place is so awesome. Good value for money, it seems like we are staying at a 5 star hotel plus, we are been take good care of their friendly and attentive staff. We'll surely consider to be back and recommend this place to my friends!

Grand Luis Lodge in itself is a wonderful place - so peaceful, clean and stylish, surrounded by beautiful nature and has breathtaking views from the rooms - but what makes it a truly great place is the staff! They made every wish I had come through and made me feel so welcomed and at home!

I really miss coming down the stairs in the morning and being greeted good morning with a genuine smile by Rose, Ina and Analyn. Also miss chatting with Feh while she’s doing an excellent job of cleaning my room or with Eddie or Ralph giving me a ride to the beach or the mall or wherever I wanted to go. Not to forget all the really tasteful food the chief makes although the scale here at home told me it is probably a good thing that I won’t have more of that for a while. :)
My back and neck would really like more of the relaxing thai-massages right away though, they are really tense from the long trip home and the cold weather here in Sweden.

Apart from the lack of a minibar full of Coke Zero (one of my addictions in life), this place has it all!

The place is located at the top of Mariveles Hill in Dauis at Panglao Island, Bohol. Although it is 10 minutes away from the beach, it is the perfect place to wake in the morning with the superb view of the sea and the mountains. The lodge is fairly new and not a massive establishment but the customer service that the staff afford their guests is first-rate. All the staff are very accommodating and very friendly. The place itself is very well maintained including the pool and sauna. Everyday the room is cleaned, the sheets replaced and there never is a shortage of toilet roll. And i must not forget the quality of their food! They are simply a delight to eat. Kudos to chef Diego. Entertainment wise, the lodge does not have live bands or anything like that at weekends. You can, however, pass the time with their karaoke by the bar. Overall, my partner Matt, our teenage girl and our baby all have a fabulous time and we will never hesitate to go back there again in the future.

Checked in last August 5-8 and up for a staycation at Bohol with my boyfriend. Place was perfect for vacationers who wanted to unwind from a hectic work week. It's pretty far from the Chocolate Hills and Loboc side (places to tour around) but it's near Alona Beach and Bee Farm (places to chill at). Commute is possible back and forth Grand Luis and the city for about 15-20 minutes depending on the availability of the jeep and habal-habal. Though you can ask the front desk to give you a ride. In our case, we rented a motorbike from the hotel for 1 day to get to Bee Farm.

Our room (101) looks really great and peaceful with a balcony facing the mountains (TIP: order breakfast and dinner for room service and enjoy your meals with the great view up at the balcony). It's spacious and nice. Since the default bed for the mountain view room is the twin sized bed (there were 2), I requested to push the beds close together instead to which they agreed. They even added a customized foam to fill in the space in between. Price was just right for a 3-night stay. TV channels and wifi usage are limited though. We didn't use much of the aircon for the breeze outside coming from the balcony and the ceiling fan is okay enough to cool the room in the afternoon. The bathroom heater was pretty much okay but water went out twice during our stay specifically early in the morning of our last day and late in the afternoon of our 1st day. But water went back shortly after the outage.

Staff were really accommodating and they made sure we had a great hotel stay. Manager would always thoughtfully check in on us. Driver was really friendly and he even offered us to see some on-the-way famous Bohol spots while headed to Alona Beach. The cooks served right. I loved the breakfast omelettes and blue mackarel sinigang for dinner, btw. The breakfast toast though could be a bit too buttery. Housekeeping wise, though the old cobwebs and rust in the bathroom floor could be a room for improvement.

Overall, the experience was good and the purpose of unwinding was served right. As for the staff who were glad to help us go about and around Bohol, they might find a bit hard to speak Tagalog sometimes, but their warm welcome m would make you come back for another stay again.

It was my first time in Bohol and they gave me the best experience so far. This hotel is your home for real. The staff are very accommodating and all nice to us. The whole place is big and comfortable. The room is like a 5 star hotel - Big and very clean and with great views. They have a rooftop that overlooks the island of Cebu. The pool is cute. I even asked to open the fountain for our photo ops and its all fine with them. They will not give what you pay for, BECAUSE THEY WILL GIVE MORE THAN what you pay for. They offer free pick up to and from the airport with the room I got. And ofcourse, to and from Alona Beach. About dining, they have the best food in Bohol. Oh! Best chef I guess. The food was amazing. Heaven!!!
The big boss was there during our stay. He even helped us go back to Alona Beach for me to get my swimming gear that I forgot when I tasted the bee farm ice cream. Haha! He was very kind and one of the best person I've met in my life. (Because we had this short talk about life and about determination. Yes, lucky me Ha!) overall, this place is a good choice. If you want peace at the same time make your vacation memorably good, this place is a jackpot. Recommended for couple, family and group of friends.

We stayed there for a week in February 2015. We had a very large room with large balcony, hot water, coffee and tea in the room and free water every day. There are only 8 rooms in the main building. The hotel was built in 2008 to a very spacious design. We enjoyed the large pool and found the restaurant food very good. The staff were most helpful, organising a day trip of the main local attraction, etc. There is a free shuttle every day to Alona beach, although to our mind that beach is not particularly impressive and the area around it is too commercialised. We had views over the surrounding jungle-covered hills, the sea and across to the famous Chocolate Hills on Bohol island. The TV selection is not up to much, but you can borrow DVD movies from reception. The hotel represents an oasis of tranquillity and we really enjoyed out stay there. We would recommend the trip to the Ataban river in the evening to see the fireflies. Wifi worked in the public areas, though, as so often in the Philippines, sporadically.
