Lisa and the staffs are very accomodating and hospitable. They are approachable and friendly. Food is good! Two thumbs up for Kuya Rob especially the Tonkatsu. Since we've arrived on a Sunday, they allowed us to check in earlier with no additional payment. We checked - in at around 8AM and rest for the whole day. The next day, we had our DIY tour. Since we know that the resort is somewhat far from Tagbiliran and far from the main roads, we decided to rent a car to less our expenses and so that we can go wherever we want. Lisa helped us and contacted someone, so we can rent a car for that day. Since we want to go to the some places earlier in the morning, we asked the staffs if we can just have our free breakfast at lunch time, and good thing it's okay, just need to inform them ahead of time. The pool is clean as well as the Jacuzzi, you can use the Jacuzzi starting 730AM up to 5PM because the operator leaves at the afternoon. The place is really relaxing and peaceful. I don't mind the Wifi that is just available at the Restaurant, because I went there to have some rest, to relax and to free my mind and body from stress. The TV is small but it's okay coz' I didn'f go there just for the tv. The bathroom is cool! :) I super love the bathtub. The view is very amazing! I am so satisfied and I was really surprised because it looks different in the pictures from the site. Best Birthday for me! :)

I always committed to myself to be honest when I write reviews and so this is my true and honest representation of a VERY disappointing experience of this so called hotel. Seriously my family and I were like Robin Hood, we just wanted to get our of Sherwood. It's not cheap at all so there is no excuse in my reckoning. Only highlight is the view, but you can get that from the 360 degree coast of Bohol and Panglau so that novelty soon wears off. The staff were nice enough, but despite them having been in business for 6 years it came across that each day was their first in hospitality. I'll list now the lowlights; - It is in the middle of NOWHERE - believe me NOWHERE; - there is nothing within less than 20 minutes drive; - there is no public transport therefore to get anywhere and you have to rely on their 'premium cost' transport service; - you are a captive audience for their packages (diving, whale watching etc) and therefore pay a premium compared to what you can pay 20 minutes away, but of course its hard to get to because you are in the middle of nowhere; - entertainment is one swimming pool, by the way the jacuzzi is broken; - we were greeted with; * do you mind ordering your food 30 minutes before you want it because we are really slow; * the bar & restaurant shuts at 2130 (sorry I thought this was a resort), but if you give us advanced notice we might be able to extend; * let us know if you'll be late back and we'll open the gate (yep no security past a certain time); - we were getting text messages asking if we'd be coming for breakfast and dinner (sorry I thought I was on holiday not at boarding school); - massive menu with half the options not being available; - it takes over 45 minutes to get fed; - tiny portions; - local food OK, Western rubbish; - it takes about 20 minutes to be served one cold beer; - Wifi is only available in the bar area. Now that shuts at 2130, so back to the room. Oh no, no Wifi, lets watch the TV - yep apart from 1 or 2 channels it is all local Philippines TV - so absolutely NO ENTERTAINMENT from this place at all. It is NOT WORTH the money for staying here and everyone staying here was complaining of all of the above. We ended up paying double to stay at another hotel for half our stay we were that disappointed in Sherwood Bay. NEVER AGAIN. One other guest described it as shameful, I am with him. If you want to sit and stare at the sea, have no entertainment, and be in bed at 2130 every day - fill your boots. With 5 kids I need entertainment and I feel I have been VERY misled and over charged for such a poor experience from Sherwood Bay. This should be renamed Fawlty Towers, Panglau Branch. Only thing missing is the Major at the bar, but then there is no bar and if there was it would shut at 2130 and he would be sent to his room. Seriously think twice and again before you consider booking this place!!!

The hotel is nice with clean and spacious room but it is in the middle of nowhere. Some driver in Alona beach does not know where this hotel is. The bathroom is nice with Jacuzzi but they are a bit stingy with shampoo (It's like a ketchup packets with 1/4 the amount) If you have long hair, bring your own shampoo. I booked this because I saw in expedia that there is snorkeling on site and that is not the case. The food in the restaurant is nice but the wait is a bit too long. The breakfast could be improved and maybe give more than just 1 small piece of fruit. If you have an early morning tour, they'll pack you a sandwich for breakfast. It is far from Alona beach or any restaurant and the hotel charges 550 pesos one way. There isn't much to do in the hotel except to lounge by the pool. The tour packages they offer is 2 to 3 times more than what you'll pay if you book it in Alona beach. Wifi is very slow and only works around the restaurant area. There is no TV in our room unlike what it says in expedia. The owners are very helpful and accommodating.

Sheerwood Dive Resort might have been a grand idea at some point but now it is just sad. Old, forlorn, forgotten and poorly maintained. We chose the hotel in the hope that we could jump in the water and snorkle/dive nearby like the brochure says. That is not the case. The staff were very friendly but unfortunately it doesn't way up for the 'has been' atmosphere. Compared to local prices, it wasn't even cheap. The rooms are in bad shape. They are worn down, the paint is flaking and there is rust everywhere. >The pipes scream when you turn on the water. We had a tiny, old, box TV that only showed one channel (Some Phillipino Christian-TV). The pool was dirty and the restaurant was embarassing. In the room we found a menu, not for room service, but detailing what it cost to damage anything! That gives you a bad vibe right away. In addition, the hotel was far away from anywhere of interest. In the middle of the woods, so to speak. I will not recommend it to anybody.

My wife and I stayed here four nights 21st-25th September 2015. We were met at Tagbilaran Airport by their driver Arnold. From there it is around 20 minutes to the actual resort. Upon arrival we were met by the owner Lisa who showed us to our room. We were lucky and were upgraded to a corner suite which had a balcony with absolutely fabulous views over the sea. The suite itself is very large with a bathroom and spa bath separate, this bathroom is huge. We ate in the restaurant every night as well as breakfast which is included in the tariff. The breakfast menu is limited but the dinner menu is quite extensive, although their wine list is very limited. I actually went into Tagbilaran after our snorkelling trip and bought some wine. The meals themselves are quite large and very reasonably priced, your order is actually taken by the chef Martial. After check in we arranged our tours, the first was a snorkelling trip and boat ride to Balicasag Island. The second trip was a tour that is conducted by the resort itself. This tour, again our guide and driver was Arnold, included the Chocolate Hills, the Tarsier Sanctuary, lunch on Loboc River Cruise (separate reviews), Also the fabulous church which was partially destroyed in the earthquake a couple of years ago. On the third day we just relaxed and swam in the pool. The resort itself is in a place where there is no nightlife but they will take you to Alona Beach which, I believe, really hums at night. Overall I rate the Sherwood Bay Resort 5 out of 5 because it was ideal for us, quiet and relaxing with a very charming hostess. I would certainly recommend for anyone to stay here.

The whole experience was very good value for money and we enjoyed ourselves very much. It is a dive resort as well. The pool has a spot which is deep for dive training. I have no personal experience but I believe there are some good dive sites nearby. The Chocolate Hills of Bohol and the Tarsiers are 'a must see'. There is also a romantic river trip on a floating restaurant. These things require the hire of a vehicle and driver at a very reasonable rate. It is only possible to get internet connection in the reception area but they did let me have use of a computer for free. An indoor pool is not needed in this area because it is always so warm.

No regret I choose this place. Clean and fresh and so many good words to describe about this resort. Far from the city and make me focus on my vocation even only 3 days. I can see beautiful sunset from here. The foods was amazing. Lisa is a lovely person and She manage everything so well, so sad I didn't get a chance to take diving license Cz I didn't hv enough time :(. If you're busy person from busy traffic city, this resort is the best choice. Lisa, Thank you for the amazing resort, I had the best time in Bohol :)

Came here from Cebu after reviewing the reviews online. We need a place for relaxation, great food, pool and ocean to swim in. Sherwood has it all. Breakfast was huge that leave you filled til dinner. If you need to go into Tagbilaran city, transportation hard to come by as out here in Panglao its remote. No worries, it will be taken care of. Lisa will call a taxi for you. She and her mother, they are very nice, kind and honest persons. Tours can be arranged according to your needs. We enjoyed our stay here! Thanks!

Me and my husband came to the Philippines for our winter vacation with the hopes of doing some diving. After staying a night in Cebu we hopped the boat to Bohol and were met at the ferry terminal by one of the Hotel workers. Despite our boat being delayed by an hour I was happy to see that they waited around for us to arrive. The room itself was very large. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom very spacious with a separate tub and shower. We stayed in the room called Morning Glory. I think all rooms have a balcony. Though there wasn't much of a view in our room, it was nice to go outside and have a drink or eat. The air conditioner worked well and the room amenities were cheap. One thing I didn't like were the packets of shampoo. They kind of resembled ketchup packets and didn't come with a lot of stuff in them. I have long hair so it was a bit annoying. The restaurant was nice, though because of a typhoon they weren't able to serve any seafood for the whole time we were there. I was a bit disappointed by this, but I suppose it wasn't really the hotel's fault. One thing I didn't like however, was that they seemed to run out of the easy to get food. By the end of our stay they didn't have french fries for example, which is a main side dish to most of the entrees. Their menu looks huge, but in reality they didn't have half the items on the menu. This wouldn't be a huge problem if not for the fact that it can be difficult to get into town. They offer rides but the driver is not always around or is tending to other customers. The diving was very nice however. Though the hotel is far from many of the popular dive spots the boat ride was nice (be prepared to be wet however). Though there are extra coast fees that are not included in the price of diving that they provide. The diving guides were very good, and did their best to show us a good time. I liked this hotel but I there were some hiccups during our stay. We ordered massages for example and the girls were 45 mins late which mean we weren't able to go into town when we had wanted. The masseuses also quoted us different rates than the hotel which meant we had to pay more than we had originally intended. However, the scenery was nice. I think if you are looking for a place to relax by the pool this is a good place, but if you like to be on the move maybe look somewhere else.

We stayed here for several days, only a few months after the earthquake and typhoon. Damage on the resort was minimal, and did not interfere with our enjoyment. The rooms were spotless, comfortable, spacious and excellently appointed, with fridges and facilities for drinks etc. The bathrooms were luxurious. We noted that the swimming pool was cleaned daily, and at night was colourfully illuminated. The octagonal restaurant was easily accessible and served a wide range of food. The whole site was interesting to walk around, the entrance was an enchanting drive through arches of tropical flowers. The views across the sea were spectacular and changed according to the distant sea mist. We saw some wonderful sunsets, and the dark night sky allowed us to stargaze. The tranquility of the resort was only interrupted by the occasional passing fishing boat and far-off ferry - yet this was only a short distance to travel from Tagbilaran and its shops etc. The on-site owners, Enid and Lisa, were most welcoming; nothing was too much trouble. They arranged our transport from the airport, and trips to places of interest. We intend to make another visit!
