Our recent stay at Le Cameleon was reassuring, considering our longstanding visits. Initial worries about post-pandemic operations were unfounded. The rooms were functional, conveniently close to the beach and town. Staff across reception, restaurant, and the beach crew were attentive. Dining was a highlight with quality dishes like ceviche, pizza, and rib-eye tacos. Breakfast, though satisfactory, could benefit from adding omelets and fresh eggs. The infrastructure is showing its age, but our overall experience was decent, thanks to the accommodating staff, well-kept rooms, and enjoyable dining options.

We had a wonderful time at Le Cameleon! We were certainly in the thick of it all with it being nestled in the middle of the rainforest. Though it did make it "rustic," in general, the rooms were very clean. We did have some issues with the water and the humidity of the rainforest overall did present some challenges, but all in all, the location was great, the beach across the street was beautiful, the pools were fun, the breakfast had very "White Lotus" vibes. And the staff was wonderful - super warm and helpful. Shout out to Danashy in particular! It was my birthday and she went out of her way to make sure it was extra special. Go prepared to deal with the elements (and the natural wear & tear of things as a result of all the humidity), but all in all, I would highly recommend!

Stayed two nights. The rooms are beautiful, comfortable, and spacious even with a crib added. Was grateful for the AC. :) Wonderful breakfast and restaurant, and perfect beach access/amenities. The only thing I wish were different is the lack of hot shower water; was mostly either cool or on lucky moments lukewarm.

As others have stated, on the surface this property looks great. Design choices photograph well, but lack in function. There is not enough furniture at the pools, what is there is uncomfortable, and I got fiberglass splinters in my fingertips from moving one of the small tables to be near the chairs we were using. At the restaurant, there were bugs in one of our drinks, which staff promptly cleared but did not replace and did not remove from the bill. AC in our room did not work very well. Door/key card were incredibly challenging. If prices were more reasonable, these issues would have been less frustrating.

Very clean, comfortable and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The food was amazing! Sloths were in the trees and the private beach club was beautiful and so convenient. Felt so secluded while in our room.

I had a disappointed experience. The maintenance and cleaning of the premises in general are very poor for the price. Renovations are needed. Staff should be more on top of customers needs. E.g. Chairs at the beach are broken and in bad conditions making them unusable; things like food, used plates and wet towels are left on the chairs by the beach at night; debris from the rain are left all over the place. They offer free private parking space, and the only place to park is on the street by your own; leaving it to your luck to find an available place to park. The breakfast overall was ok, but the coffee was really bad and burned. Shirt staff for the number of guests. This hotel fails to meet the standards for the price.

From organising amazing, tours and taxis for us. The rooms spacious clean and quiet. Breakfast was delicious, with an amazing view of the ocean, and we spotted two sloths, two toucans and a hummingbird from our table during breakfast, perfect! Plenty of choices food and the service was first class. thank you for an amazing week!

Price is totally not justified! Rooms are totally neglected in maintenance, dated and dirty! I recommend spending more money on fixing basics like doors and updating furniture instead of putting iMacs at reception. Service is another issue that needs to be addressed - half of the personal don't care requiring numerous asks in a course of hours to get basic things done. This was by far the worst hotel experience we had Costa Rica so far.
