Expensive for a Filipino hotel and dirty. Had to tell the management that green pool water is not exactly clean. Although they did agree, after a few minutes of discussion to clean the water. The lagoon was cool but somewhat gritty from the algea so if you will go there swim after high tide comes in since the water is still clear and pleasant. Practically the whole lagoon is shallow.
I advise to skip this hotel altogether due the comparatively high price and the desolation you are forced to be into since the local town is 30 minutes away. If you must stay the staff is very nice like most filipinos and I suggest going out to the lagoon beach and just ask for a boat to ferry you around. 2000 to 2500 pesos should do for the whole day of beach jumping and snorkeling. Snorkeling was fun there though. That price is for a bigger boat.
The beach has ferry boats that take you further out and you could swim around in 5 foot water and have a bbq. Bring your own food and bbq coals if not then you could give the boat caretaker "Emma" money to cook something for you the next day.

If you don't want to fly out to Palawan, or Boracay there are other places that are really cool in the Philippines. There's Bagasbas beach in Daet, Puerta de Galerta, Subic Bay, etc.

Oh, one warning, Filipinos love karaoke. I mean really love it, all night long.

Hope this helps from an American with Filipino descent traveler.

I was here for a martial arts conference. The hotel really looked after us. The amazing food just got better and better each day that we were there (and plenty of it). Simple rooms but suitable for the conference I was attending. Nice pool by the bar to sooth the muscles at night. Oh and you can water ski!

One of the most beautiful way to bond with your family is to bring them in a place where you can enjoy their company with good food, good service and with a serene atmosphere. I was pregnant with our twins during our visit and it was the best experience to ease cravings. Guests are so friendlybas influenced by the culture that place have.

Very expensive considering its outdated rooms. TV doesn't have cable. Airconditioning system doesn't have a remote, you have to call the reception if every you need to adjust ng temp. Food in the restaurant is quite pricey too. Water on the tap smells bad. The only up side is the staff are very courteous and accommodating.

April 21, 2018 our company outing set for an overnight stay at Lago De Oro Calatagan Batangas. We are all first timer in this resort and hopefully expecting for a good stay.

Arrived at around 12nn we are all hungry and was expecting a tasty and sumptous lunch buffet to be served to for a company outing unfortunately food in a CARINDERIA or our homecook food is way better than the food they served. What to expect after our buffet lunch no less than disappointmennt our mirenda, dinner, breakfast and lunch the next day is a triple XXX or a NO like PGT even the water they serve, it has an after taste..taste like water from the deep well unpurified or whatsoever. Staff XXX also or Big No No and so disappointing while having lunch they have this kind of peptalk arguing of something without minding they can be heard by their guest and they like playing or migling around. In short no ethnics at all. Oh, I almost forgot to mention when we arrived at the reception they just handover our keys and pointed the area where our rooms located. We headed to the way the receptionist told us knowing someone is behind us to assist us but unfortunately there is none. So what I did, I look for someone in the area and look around if there's a staff around and shouted a bit to get their attention that was the only time they assist and took us to our rooms. No INITIATIVE, they are like robots that needs to be instruct what to do. Come night time, we went out to our rooms to order some pica and have a drink by the pool unfortunately there's no one left at the reception area, even the dinning or any in house service only to find out they leave their guest at night and be back in the morning only 1 security guard is roving the entire resort. What a big wtf, what kind of resort is this what if there's an emergency. It's going to be on our own. During our stay also, fluctuation of electricity is so prominent. Only 1 thing is good kuya manong at the wake boarding and the wake boarding experience itself no more no less. Hope this help you open your mind.

This place is poor in maintenance and cleanliness. The room smells like old wood, cabinet is dusty, swimming pool is hazy. You can also swim at the beach together with empty cup noodles, plastics and some garbage. Food is overpriced. 1 viand costs 690+ to 1000+ pesos good for 2 persons. The taste is actually not awful but not good. The highlight of the menu is this, 1 cup of garlic rice is 200 pesos. It's the wakeboarding that gives justice to this place. Thank you for the service and experience but I think this will be my first and last.

Good location of the hotel/resort, with a pool on site and walking distance to the beach. Breakfast is plentiful and stations to choose from. Other options for food are also on site. Pool bar and beach bar serves cold fruity drinks.

Their price inclusive of accommodation and unli wakeboarding is really worth your money. Our weekend was made meaningful with our stay here. The service was good, the rooms were old but good enough, it has everything we need. Kettle, ref, aircon, 2 beds, overlooking the sea veranda, hot & cold shower. They also noted that since I am with a senior citizen, they assigned us to a room at the ground floor --this is very proactive, and I'm very delighted with their service.

Not for pickers/choosers. First room we occupied (only available then) had a faulty air conditioner. I was sweating half of the night I tried to sleep. Transfer room was better. Sea not for swimming. Flotsam of plastic wrappers and bags all around. Stick to the pool. Food reasonably priced and delectable.

Nice place to stay in Calatagan. Nice to stay there to cool and relax. If one is experience in water boarding, this is the place to stay...super cool. Tried to do it but can't get any farther...recommended for people on a budget...
