In just around 2-3 hours out of the city, you'll find yourself in the charming town Balibago of Calatagan. We stayed at Lago De Oro primarily for its wakeboard park within the resort. We were fortunate enough to catch an unlimited wakeboarding (promo included in the accommodation rate) which my husband and my daughter enjoyed very much. The promo is for individual/specific guest and not transferable. (they are very strict and have no considerations) Rooms are so-so and don't expect too much. What we found noteworthy about this resort was the food. Don't let the poorly designed menu fool you because the food is quite pricey but we loved everything we ordered especially the oysters and the crispy pata. The chef was also very accommodating of our requests which made our dining experience all the more delightful.

If you are looking for a nice and relaxing resort, I would highly recommend this place! The amenities are perfect, you can go wakeboarding/skiing for the day of half a day, then have a massage by the pool or in your room afterwards!

They have plenty of their own home made food which i thought is pretty cool, even their own home made chocolates, sausages, bread and many more!

I am inlove with their home made pizzas made in their very own wood fired oven and over all just a perfect place to escape the city and all the traffic!

My daughter loved swimming in the pool and exploring the beach right at the front of the resort!

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

If you're into soul searching and looking for a peaceful and isolated place, try to visit this place but be sure you've got the budget. A room for 2-3 person costs Php 2,500 per night, no meal inclusion. The main hotel and resort is around 1km away from the highway so better come with your own car. Hotel transport service is quiet expensive. Menu are also pricey though they offer and guarantee that they're organic. For dinner, what we did, is we went out to Balayan town proper around 15-20minutes drive. At the town, they have this 1 street full of street food offering budget but savvy meals. Some foods are proudly Batangueno.

This is a great place to relax and have tons of fun with the family. There is wakeboarding for beginners and for pros. There's also beach and sun and a relaxing pool. The lamb dishes are excellent. However rooms and amenities need a major upgrade.

Nice facilities. Great pools. Excellent wake boarding salt water pools. The restaurant has very good food although it is a little over priced. The make their own chocolate there. The rooms are nice. The beach is huge but not white sand and not very accessable most of the time.

Hi, Kp thank you for comments, we really appreciate it. We are trying to do our best to accommodate the guests needs specially the prices of the food. You have to understand that we are 120 kilometres away from Manila and mostly our stuff is come from there. As you notice we make own products like bacon, ham, salami, coppa, bread, pasta, chocolates, ice cream with the cone, jams etc.... we also have our own organic garden we grow lettuce, petchay, ginger & turmeric, onion leeks, lemon grass. Herbs (basil, sage, oregano, thyme, mint etc). We do this to minimize the cost of the food and besides our servings is big 2 or 3 persons could share. Hope we will see you again and thanks for your help to improve us better.

I recently went on a trip here and it was quite the getaway. We went on a company outing but unfortunately it wasn't enough time to explore all the activities they had here. So many things to do and they had really cute sheep or tupas you could feed. It's an actual activity there! We were met with winds and rain after going out to sea on a Balsa (bamboo raft/boat) for lunch but was treated to magnificent nature views. I think for a place that's been around a while it's pretty well maintained. I would go back to try the wakeboarding and other activities since we didn't get to experience those this time around.

The hotel is not much, but why stay in the room if you can have the whole day catching some waves? They have packages that allows where you can use the amateur or professional pool. If you ask real nice, you can use the pool before check in and after check out. ;)

Food was pretty decent too. But if you're looking for more, try Chez Dio Restaurant which is about 30 mins drive.

Thank you ever_pasaway yes you are right don't stay in the room. Use our facilities there's a lot to do outside the room. try wakeboarding , swimming in the pool, have lunch in the balsa the boat man will take you where the water is clean and the sand is white. Go snorkelling or fishing, banana boat and you can even use the jet ski. Kids can feed the lamb with minimal cost for the bread. You can even walk around the lake its 1 km 1 round so if you walk 5 rounds that's good for your health. Then after use our sauna bath then massage, what a life! Have fun....

We stayed here for 3d2n with 3 of my friends to try out the wake boarding.. well, in regards to wake boarding.. the experience was fun and worth a try.. but i just don't like how dirty their man made lake and there's a lobster in it as one of the staff said that we should avoid some part of the lake.. i mean you don't know where you will fall so having lobsters in the lake is quite dangerous for the boarders.. their accomdation is fine.. the room is big but looks old.. it cost us 2500/room/night and roughly 800 for the wake boarding.. there are no near establishments in the area like restaurants and grocery.. the food is great but quite expensive.. and don't even bother to come to the beach.. all you can enjoy is the wake boarding.. and that is their only activities here.. over all .. lago de oro is just a one time experience and would not consider going back.
