Lago de Oro in Calatagan, Batangas is the perfect place for live-in, out-of-town seminars, conferences and team building events. It's quiet, clean and the atmosphere is so relaxing with nice amenities to go with the swimming pool and the beach.

We held our team building here last May. When we arrived at the place, we are not that amaze. The only eye catching is the wake park. Its big and with some ramps and rails. I think the rent for 1 hour is around 260 but has a discount if you will be getting a room. We stayed there overnight so I think my colleagues only paid around 240, not really sure as I didnt tried that. There is also another small wake park right beside the big one. There are fishes on the side big park which is a lil bit relaxing to watch. The pool is small, if there are two companies organizing their team building there, good luck on using the pool, it will be like first come first serve. The food is just average. The beach is also not that inviting. There are floating cottage there. The worst part is the

Terrible security. The management should investigate further the theft incident happened during our team building as there are no any signs of force entry based on the investigation of the police who assisted us. Do something to be able to return the lost gadgets and money to the victims. I just also learned from my brother's friend that this is not the first theft incident in the resort because way back December 2014, same incident happened wherein worth 400k was stolen from a group who held their convention in this place. Do something what needs to be done! Thank you.

Response from EllenCp, Manager at Lago de Oro
Responded Jul 13, 2015
Further to your complaint "POOR SECURITY" All of our guest rooms have doors that are fitted with a normal lock plus a security lock (dead bolt) where the doors cannot be opened without a key. As per the Police report there has been no force entry. at the time of the event there were no housekeeping staff on duty. It is only the Management who has access the keys to guest rooms (Extra keys or Master key) and there were no keys issued on that day. as you will see in our Compendiums (Page 2) inside the room it stated that; "PERSONAL BELONGINGS" Please take care of your own belongings. The hotel is NOT responsible for and will not be held liable for, loss and damage to personal property while on the premises. We have our safe available at reception please ask our staff. As to the comment that something had occured in Dec 2014 where P400K were stolen. This is totally incorrect as no such event ever happened at Lago De Oro nor there was a complaint from guests of any stealing.

If you are looking for a relaxing resort to stay for a holiday or just a quick break then Lago is the place for you. Away from all the smog of the city and it is very quiet. They have great facilities available, if you love water sports they have an onsite cable ski park where you can ski or wakeboard, traditional style hotel rooms, pool/sauna and an open space for children to play. They have amazing staff who are always willing to help and very helpful and friendly. They offer pampering packages which I love the most as they have massages and foot spa consultants available on site. They have a variety of food available in their menu which includes Filipino food to Italian food and variety of home made products like homemade bread and the best pizza in town! We live in Perth

I've been visiting Lago de Oro for 12-13 years now. The service is always good, the food is excellent, the rooms are comfortable, and the staff are friendly and helpful. The wakepark also gives a fun alternative that makes them stand out among other resorts. I reccomend this place to all of my friends when vacation time is near, and I hope I can continue to come here every year.

We enjoyed our stay here last month that we had to come back again. It's a great place to relax -- with picture-perfect sunset view. Massage services (which I really enjoyed) can be facilitated upon request. Kids enjoyed the diff activities (wakeboarding, swimming in the pool, building sand castles in the sand bar during low tide/late afternoons and experiencing feeding sheep during early mornings). Their gelato (esp purple yam and mango), baked cheese pasta, and pizzas are simply the best. Very hospitable staff and management.

Thank you to the owners during our recent drama with a tourist coach that failed to proceed. We where stuck over a few days and had to wait for parts to be removed, taken to Manila and then returned before being refitted. We appreciated the hospitality.

My name is Alfredo from Perth Australia , the room that we check into at first smells like a sewage , so we end up getting a new room after a few complain, the new room got no T.V. Signal , room wifi not working , ( rooms looks like an old motel room ) , food so expensive ( most of the main dish is around php550 , double the price ) ,, more expensive than prominent restaurant ,, ice tea is lousy , un experience waitresses , one staff just ignored me , , food and drinks came one at a time , my daughter ask for sugar that never came , good things are wake boarding is unlimited ( just for 2 persons only per room ) most staff are helpful , check out is so congested

We were told in advance that there's a company outing that coincides with our reservation so we were prepared that there will be lots of people. But we did not expect the following: 1. The water that runs in the bathroom has a rusty smell. Wifi and TV cable were both intermittent. 2. The pool is small but what really stopped us from dipping into it was the fact that there was no dress code. People were jumping into the pool with their shirts and shorts and even jogging pants. No one took a shower before swimming in the pool. We let them have the pool. 3. So we went to the beach. The water was below knee deep. We were already too far from the shore and the water was not getting deeper. We decided to go back and just hoped the water will be deeper the following day.
