I got the VIP suite which is located at the back part of the resort.
The rooms are really nice and clean. There are housekeeping staff constantly cleaning the hallways all day. They are very courteous and kind too.
There were lots of mosquitoes, and I dunno where they are coming from. The wakeboarding areas are saltwater and definitely does not have stagnant water.

Bringing of food is not allowed, but the restaurant offers a wide variety of food. The asian dishes are hit and miss. However, their indian and mediterranean food are excellent. They also serve the best halo halo ever!!! The restaurant staff are very efficient. Serving of food and cleaning is fast. The breakfast may look expensive from the menu but the serving is really really big.

The beach front is a bit small though. It is swimmable during the mornings. In the afternoon, the tide is usually low and lots and lots of starfish, seasnails and hermit crabs can be seen.

Overalll I think this is a well managed resort because they can manage peak season very well. Everything about running this place from parking, checking in, housekeeping and serving meals runs smoothly in the busiest holiday.

We stayed here for a night from April 17-18, 2019 and booked was given Room 506 in Block 300. Block 300 is a 1-storey building (no stairs) with a parking lot right in front of the rooms so easy to haul stuff. It's also very close to the pool and clubhouse.

Room Pros:
1) big and roomy, with a queen bed and a single bed with pullout (room is good for 4 pax comfortably)
2) with dining and kitchen area
3) with spacious and clean bathroom that had good shower area and enough shelves for you to place toiletries
4) 2 bottles of complimentary water provided
5) More than enough towels
6) Comfy bed and pillows!
7) Quiet at night; has good views of the beach

Room Cons:
1) Outdated furnishing - cabinets were old, mini-ref was old and somewhat noisy; room showed signs of age and could have been better for the price (room rate was P2,500 per night or about USD50)
2) TV did not have cable channels
3) Aircon doesn't have a remote (you have to call the front desk/housekeeping each time you want to have the temperature adjusted)

We ate all our meals at the restaurant and the food was good and reasonably priced.

Wifi was fast and I had no trouble connecting all throughout my stay.

Staff was super super friendly and accommodating. They know what good customer service means and for me that made all the difference so even if my room was just okay it didn't lessen my enjoyment of my stay. Kudos to the staff!

Overall, I enjoyed my stay at Lago de Oro. I went there to relax and was able to do just that.

Recently stayed in this place for a team building activity.

Rooms/Hall
- conference hall is good for small groups, it's old-school but it's still ok; has good sounds equipment and has a projector; needs some improvement on airconditioning though - needs more HP; this hall can be rented in the evening for videoke (using the projector as the videoke screen)
- rooms are affordable but nothing fancy; old school CRT TV, 1HP split-type AC; repainted wooden beds with ordinary bedding; with a working mini-ref; average restroom, with bidet, shower enclosure, and hot/cold shower; water from the faucet is dirty - does not have foul smell but you will have second thoughts of using it for brushing your teeth

Facilities
- beach area is not suitable for swimming
- swimming pool is murky, none from our group tried this one
- has billiards and darts for the guests' use
- wakeboarding park - has an area for beginners and another bigger area for advanced players
- big parking area
- needs improvement on security - no roving guards, and no guard stationed on the gate of the beach

Food/Staff
- our group were satisfied with the food, exceeded our expectations (except for breakfast)
- staff are friendly and approachable based from our experience
- one of our companions left his phone in the room and their receptionist gave me a call to report it. Unfortunately we already left the area so they offered to ship the item to the owner (with the guest's expense of course)

Verdict: I still gave this resort a 4 star despite of the negative sides of it. I guess it depends on why are you going to the place. I would recommend this if your purpose is to wakeboard, nothing else. But if you're expecting a resort with fancy rooms, a nice beach front and swimming pool, then this is not the place for you.

We were 32 persons (28 adults and 4 kids) for this great family reunion hosted by my sister who visited from Canada. Choosing Lago de Oro is the best decision we made because the place did not disappoint us. We booked 3 suites (Suites Prince Alain, Prince Albert, and Premier Family) and they're all on the same floor in their new building. The rooms are spotlessly clean, the toilet and bath huge and with sufficient hot water, we were all able to sleep soundly in our own assigned beds (nobody needed to sleep uncomfortably) because extra mattresses were provided, the bedsheet are crisp and clean, the towels are generous and the location perfect - all walking distance to the pool beach, restaurants and nearby wakeboarding area. The staff service are superb especially Ms Bea onsite operations, Kaye from reservations, F&B staff in the main restaurant, Housekeeping team and the wakeboard staff. The food very good but quite pricey - good for sharing though. No other restaurants nearby so no choice but dine in. Food if brought will have corkage fee - you are only allowed to bring light snacks. Overall, our stay was excellent! I hope service quality remains the same because we hope to come back again one day.

This place is absolutely terrible. Not only is there only one electrical outlet per room, but there was also no transformer readily available for me to charge my devices. This lack of convenience was highly frustrating and inconvenient. Additionally, the internet connectivity was nonexistent, making it nearly impossible to stay connected and get any work done.

To make matters worse, the food at this place was absolutely horrible. I decided to order pad thai and calamari, along with a pina colada, but all of the above was subpar. The taste was disappointing, and the quality of the ingredients used was questionable. It was definitely not a pleasant dining experience.

Furthermore, the showers and room conditions were completely unacceptable. The showers were either too hot or too cold, and the room itself was not well-maintained. The cleanliness was lacking, and the overall condition of the room left much to be desired. Additionally, the groundskeeping was terrible, with unkempt gardens and poorly maintained common areas.

Despite all the negatives, the only positive aspect of this place was the staff. They were extremely friendly and accommodating, which was a small consolation in an otherwise disappointing experience. However, when I approached the ownership to address my concerns, they were too busy FaceTiming someone to give me their full attention. They did not have an answer for my concerns and didn't seem to care about addressing them.

I don't usually take the time to review places I visit, but this experience was so bad that I felt compelled to warn potential travelers. The pictures that may be available online do not accurately reflect the true condition of the hotel. It is important for people to know the reality of what they are getting into before making a decision to stay here.

From the Reservations Team led by Rizza, to the FnB team (Darren), they all made my son's birthday truly remarkable. The food is a bit pricey but I must say that it is of quality. The ambiance is perfect, Kids can do wakeboarding too! Me and my family will definitely come back.

Lago De Oro's location is convenient. It is accessible via Nasugbu and Batangas City-Lemery-Balayan (best option when its traffic in Tagaytay). All our stays so far are pleasant. The rooms are plain and old but still well-maintained. The room size is comfortable most especially for big groups.

Our family would often come here for breakfast & dinner coz they have the best and authentic Lebanese and Middle Eastern food! Sooo legit! All the staff are friendly and attentive most especially the waiters.

Everything in this place is far by the worst I've ever seen.. to think this was the "classiest" in the area.

Let me summarize it to you:
-Air conditioning aren't strong enough to cool the room. (had to ask for an electric fan)
-Water from the shower smells like rust. (shower head even broke down bec of the pressure)
- food was expensive (barely restaurant levels. Even Jollibee serves good food)
- Pool was crowded with people.
- People weren't following proper swimming pool attire. Most of them are wearing t-shirts.
- Company outing coincided with our trip and were dominating the whole resort. (Non-Stop karaoke even in the middle of the night)
-Manager sucks.

Not recommended. Take it from me. The only saving grace of this place is the wake board area.

Answer from Lago de Oro R
Hello, we have 3 different tickets guests can choose from. Our minimum is 1 hour for Php200, then 3.5hours for Php500 and lastly for the whole day is Php800. These rates are for day tour and walk-in guests. While for our guests who have room/s, they are entitled to get 25% discount from those rates. Gears are already included upon availing ticket (life vest, helmet & slip on board). Our wake park is open from 8:30am to 5:30pm everyday.
