The Village Boutique & Spa receives accolades for its serene pools, spa amenities, and luxurious beds, making it a haven of relaxation and tranquility. While the majority of guests commend the hotel for its spotless and well-equipped rooms, a few have noted cleanliness and air conditioning issues. The staff's warm hospitality often stands out, despite occasional lapses in professionalism. Situated in a prime location, the hotel offers easy access to local attractions. However, some guests feel the pricing does not always reflect the value, especially concerning the dining options.

We have just arrived back home from a truly wonderful 7 night trip to Malta. We stayed in The Village Boutique and Spa the whole week and loved our time there. The staff were attentive and extremely helpful, providing us with excellent local information in regard to restaurants and places to visit as well as explaining the weekly bus pass and the fantastic benefits it provides. We pre paid for bed and breakfast which also gave us access to the spa. The breakfast selection was excellent and the quality of food and drinks served were very nice. The Spa area is very small but more than acceptable and we loved using the stylish indoor pool. The cleanliness of the room was very good and the cleaners arrived everyday to change towels and clean the room. The hotel is in the heart of Naxxar, a very quiet town during the day but in the evening families are out eating at local restaurants which gives the town a nice feeling and buzz around the place. We purchased a weekly bus pass which is a must if you plan to travel whilst in Malta, this saved us an awful lot of money as we travelled to Valletta, Mosta, Mdina, Golden bay, St Paul’s bay, Sliema and Gozo. As Naxxar is very central all of these places took about 20/30 minutes on a bus to get to, accept Gozo as we had to get an express ferry from Valletta to get there, if you don’t suffer from sea sickness Ramla Bay in Gozo island is a must to visit.
The only 2 reasons I did not give this hotel 5 stars is due to the extremely excessive mosquitos in the pool and outdoor eating areas, hardly the restaurants fault and they offer free bug spray at the bar but unfortunately the mosquitos meant we stayed clear of the outdoor pool and only ate inside at all times which was a real shame. Between me and my partner we were bitten over 20 times in 7 days, 10 of which occurred on day 1 when we visited the pool and ate outdoors in the hotel. Also we had a drink in the bar one evening and had a meal at the hotel restaurant and the price was very expensive compared to all other restaurants we dined at in the country and the quality of food was pretty average.
Overall we had a great time and would recommend the place, but remember bring bug repellent and definitely buy the bus pass if you plan to see a lot of the country.

A very welcoming & comfortable hotel, with stunning decor especially in the lobby. On street parking was relatively easy to get, check-in was very easy & quick. We had a family room which was extremely spacious & good value for money. The beds were luxuriously comfortable, the bathroom & products provided were of high quality. I especially loved the pillow menu (pictured) & little add ins like a coffee machine, bottles of waters, robes & slippers, extra pillows. The outdoor pool was also beautiful & private, perfect for sipping a cocktail & sunbathing. The spa & indoor pool were also lovely. I especially liked that there was live music & a BBQ on the night we stayed; the staff were friendly too. My only not positive comments were the cost of food & drink in the hotel was more than expected e.g. 20€ breakfast, €9 cocktails & small starters. Understandable with it being a hotel but really quite high. Thank you still for a wonderful, brief stay.

I loved this hotel everything was so perfect & exceptionally clean.
The hotel interior was eye catching and wonderfully designed and the outdoor pool area has the most amazing garden around it with flowers draping everywhere. The pool is a clever design and does have a deep end and was filtered and very clean water.
The room was so great with a large balcony for our family room with 2 Sun loungers perfect and 2 seats & tables and ashtray .
The soundproofing in the room was amazing and it was really quiet and dark even for a nap after being at the spa downstairs or the restaurant where they sell a varied menu and decent portions I don’t drink but they had a good range of alcohol and cocktails.
The indoor pool was cool in temperature and setting with hanging chairs and sun loungers in an ambient setting
The sauna was 10euro for two hours but may be used after a treatment. It has 4 rooms sauna , inferred sauna , salt sauna and ice room. There is also a comfy seating area that is a salt room. Everything smells wonderful which really made for a great spa experience.
The staff at this hotel also went above and beyond to make our stay perfect and there was always help on hand even though the night. They really couldn’t have made our stay anymore easy and stress free. I will return to this hotel again for sure and would highly advise that you go if you are looking for a beautiful setting and quiet hotel to relax and rewind then The Village boutique hotel ticks all the boxes.

After spending sometime in St Julian, Valletta and Gozo we selected this boutique hotel a bit far away the crowd because of the nice reviews, good looking and restaurant dishes pictures.

First, it was not easy to find, parking nearby was quite challenging also.

Décoration, pool vegetation around pool were as beautiful as the picture, complementary mosquitos also join the party at the end of the day.

The room (107) looked very nice with yellow typical stones of Malta, it was also very narrow compared to other room. The matelas, pillows where comfortable and we slept well.

I believe it was one of the few (or the only) room without outdoor balcony. It’s quite important cause bathroom had a single towel hanger and the vent extraction was not available or functional (I didn’t saw any), no plug for the air dryer, you have to do it on the bed area. So we get used to humidity, despite hôtel towels were changed everyday, our own towel & swimwear could never get dry overnight after enjoying a day at the beach.

The food was appetizing, and pictures look really yummy, however the taste couldn’t compete with other restaurant displaying equivalent price positioning in town.

The breakfast was literally the worst we had in Malta, and we enjoyed it outside the hotel.

The staff (front desk) made quite an attitude towards the different request we made along our stay and responses were effortless oriented rather than customer care.

As a conclusion quite disappointed compared to review we saw & also compared to other places we visited.

Hope this help you improve services.

Room good, very clean, balcony too small, not usable
Reception and service at breakfast and at the bar very friendly and accommodating
Great location, only 400 meters to the center with 5 great restaurants and even more other things. We were here for 2 weeks and would not book breakfast at the hotel again. In general, the quality of the food was totally disappointing. A dry wholemeal bread that had probably been defrosted early in the morning. When we arrived late for breakfast, the bread was already pretty dried out because it had been pre-cut. All of the fruit was poor quality. Meat, cheese, salad is served again every day. The different colors of the salami etc. were obvious. SPA is beautiful and super clean, staff perfect. But - the hotel offers access to the pool to people who are not staying at the hotel. 20 hours of swimming lessons for small children are booked per week - not available to hotel guests. Then there is something else annoying. We booked in September for February, rooms still over 100 euros. When we arrived here, the room still cost 68 euros - but it doesn't seem to be a special offer, as all rooms are significantly cheaper. Tip: booking early is OK, but make use of the cancellation policy, cancel expensive reservations and book again with better conditions. The food brings the rating down to 3 points, otherwise 4. The hotel is not 5 stars, however - unfortunately.

Concierge: very good, kind, precise, fast and efficient. grade: 9 out of 10
Rooms: from a Superior Double I'd have expected something better. The room was nice, clean, big enough and the bed was extremely comfortable, BUT the bathroom was not at the same level. The WC was small and uncomfortable, the sink small and uncomfortable as well. Another thing to be improved is the writing desk which is really too narrow and packed that you can barely put a 13' laptop on it. Minifridge was empty....from a superior room I expect something inside it, and if you leave to your guest free water, it's good to put the bottle in the fridge, otherwise it'll not be pleasant to drink water at room temperature. Anyway, the vote for the room is 6,5 out of 10
Breakfast: this is the biggest disappointment. First of all the food room is just near the kitchen and all the cooking smells will flow in it as the kitchen door is not able to prevent it. And it's not pleasant to choose your food in an ambient completely saturated with the smell of cooked sausage....especially if you are just having a tea with pastry. The food is just average, not at the same level of the hotel amenities in my opinion. Pastries have been always cold, the jams are in sachet and terrible, fruit is too seasoned and the scrambled eggs and bacon were not leaving a good taste in my mouth. Grade is 4,5 out of 10, and it's a shame as it ruins the hotel's average.
Facility cleanliness and hygiene: nothing to say here, it is an absolute 8 out of 10. Both room and common parts were extremely clean and in a good looking status.
SPA: this is a full 10 out of 10. You have a great SPA, clean, new and absolutely not crowded. Massages are very good, the indoor pool is absolutely lovely and the sauna/ice room/salt inhalation room is really high level.
STAFF: this is another 10. Everyone has been extremely kind, efficient, polite, and professional. Really a great display, from concierge to SPA staff to bar and waiters
Position: for me it was in a good position. 20 mins away from St. Juliens, 25 from airport.
My overall judgment is a 7.5 out of 10, but will love to stay there again for sure, as in my opinion they have a very good value for the money spent.

Superficially this hotel appears quite stylish but on closer inspection it is starting to show signs or wear ie in just our bathroom there were holes in the tiles that scratched our feet, a filthy rusted toilet brush and a a lock that didn’t work. The air conditioning was ineffective- so much so that our children overheated in their part of the family room as there was no air conditioning in there and subsequently had to sleep on floor of main room. The cleaners also left all sorts of items outside our room like ladders, buckets of dirty water, dirty towels which didn’t make for an enjoyable experience each time we left our room. Pool was pretty but tiny and hugely overcrowded which made it quite unpleasant and we couldn’t use indoor pool as local children having swimming lessons! The worst part were staff who seemed sad and depressed and virtually none of them spoke to us during our 2 night stay. The worst part was on arrival when I was berated for booking our 16 year old as a child. I had done this through a booking platform so it wasn’t my fault but the receptionist would not listen and was incredibly rude saying I should have paid more! Not the best welcome. Food was very overpriced so are in lovely local restaurants. Parking terrible and you have to park streets away which isn’t made clear!

A very peculiar hotel with excellent service. The location is a bit weird and the entrance to the hotel is on a difficult street to park. If you're driving, park well on the parallel. It is 15/20 minutes from the Valletta by car. Without a car I do not recommend this hotel because if you are taking taxis or Bolt to get around, it will be expensive. The room is super large and comfortable. The super large and comfortable bed and the great shower! Every day we've been left with lots of towels, gel, coffee. They don't skimp on anything. The restaurant was very good. They have a very extensive menu and with very tasty and elaborate dishes. They also have a list of very good wines and spirits. The waiters' attention has been impeccable. They are very professional and friendly.
The pool is small, but it is very welcoming. If you are looking for tranquility and natural surroundings, this is your hotel

Faultless in reflection, from start to finish , on our last day I sit by the pool and reflect our 6 night stay in a quiet generally couples but inclusive relaxed hotel , where any request is not a problem , from what you want in your salad to changing the curry to veggie , the quinoa and seafood salad with orange and green beans was amazing and filling , we stayed room only but had breakfast which was comprehensive and generally everything you could want .
The location of the hotel is perfectly located and seems to be a 15 min Bolt ride everywhere. Naxxar has some lovely small bars and restaurants including Onella which deserves a special mention ,the all you can eat experience was amazing .Valetta for shopping, bars and sightseeing, live music and Cafe del Mar Nightclub in Stpauls bay was an amazing open air beach club and restaurant. Sandy beach at Mellieha with €10 beds and brolly for 2 great for swimming and great lunch on the beach at Munchies .

We had a mixed experience. The location is nice and central in Malta. The room is large and so is the bed. The balcony (in our case garden room) is not part of the daily cleaning. Also there is some complimentary water, but only upon arrival, after that you need to get drinking water yourself or use the heavily chlorinated water from the tap. 3 times a fire alarm went off without any apparent reason which disturbed our sleep on 2 nights. The toilet bowl kept running water, so we needed to hit the flush button several times before it stopped. In October there is hardly any sun at the pool.
