Had a great wedding and stay at the hotel, Lizzy was incharge of it and we all had a fantastic day. This is a new team since the takeover and we were concerned by some of the previous reviews but i can say that everything went like clockwork i can't sing their praises enough the rooms were clean and all my guests who stayed said what great value for money they were. You only normally hear the bad news but this is a great venue.

A real shame for the short staff on duty the weekend we were there. Dirty, corridors full of dirty linen and food trays. The hotel owners really need to look at staffing levels for a very busy hotel. Food very poor quality in breakfast. the staff were amazing, however they were very stressed. Dirty bathroom, grouting black with dirt.

Hotel staff were sullen and not very approachable. There were trays with dirty dishes lining the corridor to our room, dirty glasses left on a corridor window ledge for 2 days. Our room was ok, but the bathroom had what looked like black mould on the tile grouting and dirt in ground in the bath. Our breakfast the following morning was stone cold even though the food containers were on hot plates, and totally inedible. Would definitely advise avoiding this place and going to a Premier Inn, much better.

I hate to do this. I really do.. Yes Brexit and Covid will have had a huge impact on staffing numbers and therefore quality of service but the dinner situation and all round customer service we experienced over our 2 days was shambolic at best. A group of 16 guys on a golf trip. Arrived at 11am and pre ordered dinner for 8pm. It’s fair to say we expected our dinner to arrive by 8:30pm latest. 14 dinners came down at 9:15pm. The other 2, 30minutes after the rest of us had finished (no special orders). Desserts (a slice of packaged cake) 1hour later. This was the better of the 2 nights! Night 2 and a buffet was put out for all of the golf societies. 1 (really lovely, smiley) guy was put in the room as the fall guy as 60-70 hungry golfers waited for food. I would estimate that enough food was prepared for around 35-40 people. Inevitably the food ran out very quickly.. half of our group of 16 made the swift decision to leave the dinner hall due to the chaos and head to the town for a KFC instead. I have huge sympathy for the one staff member in the dinner room and if he’s reading this, I’d like to thank him for his effort but his manager is an absolute disgrace to have put him in that position. The golf courses were decent. Tee boxes were very poor but otherwise in good shape and a challenging knock. I’d play golf there again but stay somewhere else.

I had read so many bad reports about this hotel I was dreading it. Due to the boat show there was very little availability in Southampton at the time and we needed cruise parking. We arrived at 3pm check in time. Were asked to wait a few minutes as they were changing shifts. By 3:15 we were all checked in and given a lovely big room on the ground floor. The beds were huge and room was spotless. The staff were all very friendly and pleasant. The sun was shining so we made our way to the patio for a drink to start our holiday. We booked a table for an evening meal, which was ok. We had the fish and chips, not sure what the fish was but not cod or haddock that’s for sure! Probably pollack not the greatest. Breakfast was included and we found a table easily it was buffet style which was ok but in these times sharing a serving spoon was strange. Paper should have been available to use to hold the implements. No problem with the taxi which was booked on arrival to get to the port the next day and card provided to call on our return with hotel account number taxi arrived within 15 minutes . All in all a very good experience and would use again for cruise parking. The golf course looked nice but was busy being a sunny Friday afternoon.
