Once again a fantastic holiday, marred only by the collapse of Thomas Cook airline which was who I flew with! Or rather didn't on the way back! I was there in June, And back at the end of September and I will be back again in July 2020 all things being equal. Again I can not fault the place, Agiriss and the staff were as friendly as last time, and the Beautiful Elani was...well Beautiful! I made some new friends, and am really looking forward to seeing them all again. To Elani who is teaching me to speak Greek, Efchariso Poly O Fili mou ( I think you will understand, even if I got it wrong!) And to you all Tha se do ólous to epómeno étos !
Lovely, pretty hotel and very well maintained rooms and gardens. Our room had plenty of space and had a fridge. Had to ask for a kettle, which they provided for us immediately. Breakfast was fantastic and hot food varied daily which was great as normally after a fortnight you can get a bit bored with the routine fried eggs and sausage. The only downside we found is that it is off the beaten track and we found it took us nearer 15 minutes to trapeziums into town every evening for our dinner at the local restaurants. The other thing was we had a side sea view room but it didn’t meet our expectation of a sea view. Better not to have been described as sea view and then you might be pleasantly surprised with a glimmer of it in the distance. Overall, very nice, staff lovely, friendly and helpful, clean towels and sheets changed regularly.…
I stayed at the Aegeon Hotel in Skala Kaloni in July 2019. The location is beautiful, overlooking the wetlands and mountains, and eating breakfast on the terrace with this view was a lovely start to the day. My room was big and airy with a small terrace and table and chairs. Shutters on the windows blocked out the heat, and air conditioning was very effective at night so I had no trouble sleeping in the comfortable bed. Crisp white sheets were changed every day and the room was always spotless. A fridge and kettle were provided for making tea or coffee and storing cold drinks. The shower room was large, with plenty of hot water and fluffy white towels. Breakfast was varied every day and consisted of ham, cheese, melon, yogurt, fried eggs, or scrambled, mixed vegetables, and Greek spinach pastries, or sausage. Toast and home made jams were on offer, with different cakes as well. A tea and coffee machine was provided, and included hot chocolate. The staff were very kind and attentive. When I asked for an iron, it was brought immediately to my room and nothing was too much trouble. The nice pool area has a bar, selling drinks, ice cream, and light lunches. There are always plenty of sun beds with shady areas to while away a couple of hours swimming and reading. The village of Skala Kalloni is about 10 minutes walk away alongside the beach. When I was there live music was on as it was a festival. There are several good restaurants and bars there and the staff are so friendly and always remember your name. To make the most of this island, it's best to hire a car I think, as it's a wonderful place and there are so many repeat visitors, who return time and again. Including me - I count myself as a friend of Lesvos and I can't imagine never coming here again. It's like coming home to family.…
The Hotel is a family run establishment and the main aim of the owners is to make you feel totally relaxed. The rooms are of a reasonable size with a fridge so that you can buy your own drinks if you went, the bathroom is OK but could do with a refresh but had what you needed for your stay and always seemed to have plentiful hot water. Breakfast was very good with eggs of some kind every morning and coffee from the machine was very good. The hotel is about a 15 minute walk from the harbour with its shops and tavernas, so if you wanted to take water back to your room it was a bit of a hike. I would go back to this hotel in the future as it was in such a peaceful spot, and the owners made you feel so welcome.
This is a small family run hotel with a pool and bar, if you are looking for an Ibiza type of holiday go there! This is a small place very quiet clean, rooms, really comfy beds the friendliest of places, really laid back. There's nothing much to do at the hotel, nor in the village itself but if a quiet chill out is what you want, you will find it here. !0 minute walk to the Village with a choice of half a dozen places to eat/drink (The village is tiny I doubt there are more than a couple of hundred people live there) Car hire is cheap (115 Euros for 4 days including insurance) Petrol is not! 165.8 Euros/L Food is great not a massive choice at the hotel, but plenty of it, I stopped B&B but ate at the hotel some evenings, (Greek salad 6.00 Euros, 500 ml beer 5% 3.50 Eating out about 15 Euros for most meals with a beer! Try the seafood it's fantastic! Back to the hotel, all the staff speak some English, and the Beautiful Elena speaks perfect English as does the owner. Try as I may, I cannot think of a bad word to say about the place.…
