We visited the Sunrise Resort Hotel in early September for one week, the hotel is advertised as 5 star however I feel 4 star would be more accurate, the hotel has been recently refreshed which I feel accounts for the hotels 5 star rating. The hotel rooms are nice but nothing special, they are large, clean and you do get the 5 star trappings, ie bathrobes, shower gel etc. The pool areas are large and clean one has a great cafe bar where you can get all drinks and snacks. The dining area is also large and the buffet style meals are more than enough. Within the hotel is a cocktail bar which is quite expensive, with the 5 star rating comes 5 star prices at the bar....as we found out!!! Each room has a mini bar stocked with drinks and snacks, each item is priced individually and as you eat/ drink the items they sre replaced on a daily basis...beware you can tot up a large bill if you ae using the items on a daily basis!! The hotel operates a mini bus which runs to Molyvos and back a few times a day or you can walk whick takes about 25 minutes. The hotel gives you a credit card wit a view to guests buying their drinks and food on this card, again be aware that if you use this you will be hit with a large bill at the end of your holiday, we paid cash as we went along so we knew where we stood. Finally...we had a great holiday, great hotel, staff, service and food...plenty to do and see. At the time of our stay the EU immagration Police were staying at our hotel around 20 Portuguese officers, they patrol the stretch of sea between Lesbos and Turkey as you still get the refugees coming over from Turkey. Would we go again.....definately?

No, this is not a 4 star hotel like you expect it to be in a big european city...but, that's not where you are! I would describe this place as an upgraded 3-star. Friendly staff. Great location. Breakfast is maybe on the poor side (choice of bread, fresh juice?) but this minor point is covered up by spacious, clean rooms with a view. Quiet hotel with limited animation (thank you!).

I have just returned home after spending 13 days at the Sunrise Hotel in Molyvos. I loved this hotel and all the staff that work so hard to keep the guests happy. With the collapse of Thomas Cook this weekend I would just like to say that it is very easy to fly to Lesvos with Aegean Airlines. There are several flights each day leaving Heathrow to Athens. There's a short stay in Athens, about 1 1/2 hours and your luggage is transferred for you so all you need to do is relax. Then a lovely short flight, about 45 minutes to Mytilene. It couldn't be easier! As for the food at Sunrise it was fabulous. For breakfast there was a great choice of freshly made omelettes, fruits, pastries, sausage and bacon, cereals, breads, cheeses, meats...and the list goes on. For the evening meal there was something different every night. I tasted a fantastic seafood paella, succulent chicken dishes, lean tasty pork recipes, curries, vegetarian options, lots of fresh salads and vegetables, just perfect. The food at the pool bar was also excellent with more casual items such as Greek salad, local meat dishes, pizza, salads, sandwiches, whatever you fancy and reasonably priced too. Thank you to the chefs Tasos and Stratos. My room was clean, tidy, quiet and I slept the best I've done in a long time. So lovely in the mornings to sit up in bed or the balcony, have a cup of tea and look out to the sea and the mountains. There are white dressing gowns and slippers, a mini bar, large television, a safe, plenty of wardrobe hangers and toiletries in the bathroom. Thank you to Anna and Vania at the pool bar, they are such angels. Also the restaurant waiters Michalis x 2, Vangellis, Stratos. Also thank you to Manolis for the moyito's and Elphi in reception for her 30 year loyal service to the hotel. There is a hotel shuttle bus driven by the lovely Nikos. He will take you to Molyvos 4 times a day The taxi fare is 5 euros one way. The price has remained the same for donkey's years, they are not greedy, they haven't increased their prices at all. The hotel own a restaurant in the town right by the sea called Triena. The chef Babbis makes amazing food - seafood, homemade pizzas, meat dishes, traditional Greek specialities and the house white wine is the best on the island in my opinion. The pools, the views, the evening entertainment, the gardens, the ambience are all perfect. Even though I have a few health complications I can honestly say that I felt 300% better whilst staying at the Sunrise Hotel. Throw yourself into this place, the sunrise Hotel.....it is the heart of Lesvos.

Stayed for bed and breakfast in September 2019. On the positive side, the hotel is situated in a beautiful location with views over the sea and Turkey. The rooms are also well maintained and clean. The staff are also friendly and polite. On the other hand, the food leaves alot to be desired. The cooked option at breakfast was always cold or lukewarm and the selection was very limited for a hotel which claims to be 5*. The dinner was €18 per head which was very overpriced as the quality was actually rather poor. A buffet was available with pretty substandard food unfortunately and there are much better restaurants for literally half the price in Molyvos so there's no reason to go there. We actually felt sorry for the people who had chosen the all inclusive option as I would have checked out early and gone to another hotel. The restaurant manager was a bit rude when we complained that the food was cold and we felt that there was very little empathy shown by him which is a shame. Also there was no decent entertainment in the hotel all week. There was a traditional Greek music night which consisted of 2 guys playing a keyboard against a backing track and singing some local songs. Unfortunately they sounded a little on the depressing side so most of the audience decided to leave after a few songs were heard. Additionally, the hotel should really offer a more regular shuttle service to Molyvos if it wants to cater to the needs of its guests. Currently the bus leaves the hotel at 10am, 12pm, 2.45pm and 11pm.. there is nothing in the afternoon to take you back to the hotel until 11pm...! Not exactly designed to cater to the needs of its guests. We were rather glad to go at the end of the 7 days as we were so fed up of the bad food and lack of anything to do!

After a bad experience at the nearby Viva Mare, we came here. It was like going from hell, and arriving in heaven. The staff were so friendly, and accommodating. The room was huge, with a very comfortable bed. The bathroom was also large, and very very clean. The villas themselves are beautiful, painted in different pastel colours. The location is a bit out of town, but this has its advantages. Parking is still tight! It is Greece, after all. Breakfast was plentiful and fresh. A great place to stay.
