The room was 5 star, very expensive, but during my three nights stay nobody changed the towels, nor the bedsheets. The noise coming from the street (bad music) in the evenings/nights was extremely loud, even with the windows closed. I had two guests coming over at the hotel’s private beach, and they were practically thrown away, the reason being that the beach is ”private”, although the law provides that regular people must be allowed too and they should receive special areas on “private” beaches. The bar on the private beach never issued any fiscal document for the money received for drinks. The room had bugs and roaches. Under the balcony is a very noisy generator, impossible to stay out due to the noise. NOBODY in the hotel wore masks, nor the staff, neither the clients. Restaurant extremely expensive. Stay away. Far away.…
Brief version: My room was ok (5 star-ish), but the service level, especially the service from staff, was 2.5 stars. Apparently hotel managers are more important persons, then the customer. I guess there is a management problem, not a staff problem. All-in-all: I would expect way more from a 240 EUR / 300 USD per night hotel claiming to be 5 stars. No wonder there is no foreign license plate in the parking spot, only Romanians. Long version: Room ----------------------- I've stayed in their bigger room (40m2), so I have no complaints about the room size, But the standard room (20m2) is relatively crowded. Room was nice, except few minor details: - you cannot close the balcony doors (they are broken), which is a problem, because on the private beach of the next door hotel there is a noisy entertainment program till 23:00 every night. I want to hear the sea, not the manele music. And of course, at a 5 star hotel, why would there be anyone available to fix it at 21:00 (oh sorry, we are in Romania, not in Germany). Ok, then maybe give me another room. Ohh, that is not possible. - the water spilled out from the shower has nowhere to go. Just stays there. BTW: why does the water spill out, if the shower door is closed. - the room safe is small. Not even a smaller tablet fits in there. But the rule book of the hotel says they don't assume any responsibility for anything that is stolen because it was not stored in the safe (BTW: the staff has a master key for every safe, so what's the point.) When contacted the "qualified" personnel for fixes on the next day: they tried, but wasn't able to fix any of the issues. They recommended me not to open the balcony door. Nice, thanks. I would say I would expect more from a 240 EUR (300 USD)/ per night room. Food quality --------------------- Breakfast quality is ok, but nothing extraordinary. The restaurant food is also ok, but nothing extraordinary. Price is a bit high compared to the fact that you get only standard quality: 3 main meals + 4 drinks ~50 EUR (60 USD) Personnel / Service ----------------------------------- A few examples of why I have the impression that customer is less important and why I say personnel is more afraid from the internal company hierarchy and management: - when entering the restaurant area with two smaller kids, the waiter going in the same direction was such in a hurry that almost pushed me and my kids aside in the doorway. Seriously? What is more urgent than to show me (the customer) that I am important, eg. by opening and holding the doors for us (not some urgent order from a boss). - when doing the room payment at reception, waiter comes to the receptionist that he has to print something. Receptionist turns to him immediately and starts to help him print something (which turned out to be a personal thing). Seriously? I am in the middle of something: I am trying to give you my money for this awful service I get. At least show me some respect and finish the process first with me. - when speaking with the receptionist and enumerating to her the problems I have with my room, a very important lady comes in and asks for some keys. The receptionist immediately turns from me, and starts to look for the keys asked by this lady. When the lady left, I asked who she was : ohh, she is our accountant. Seriously? I was in the middle of enumerating what issues there are with your most expensive room, and the request of the accountant is more important than this. Guys, you have serious problems, if the accountant is more important than a (kindly) complaining customer. And why is this management problem: because managers didn't clearly explained to the staff that customer above all: you don't interrupt the customer with your petty problems like printing or keys. You wait your turn, till customer is finished. Cleaning -------------------------------- They have a quick round with chlorine smelling something, and that's it. They forget to empty all your bins, and put toilet papers. Yes, petty staff, yet important if you are without when doing your thing. Which hurts even more when your money flies away at a rate of 240 EUR / 300 USD per night.…
Hotel is clean and has a very good sea view. Parking places are also available although the parking lot is pretty small and is not able to accommodate all vehicles. What is really disturbing and bad is the attitude of the staff. The personnel is sometimes not even responding to your greeting even though they should actually greet you first. Breakfast is poor and the staff seems to be disturbed by the fact that they have to serve the guests. At the pool it is forbidden for guests to “book” and occupy sun beds with the towel but the hotel owner “is allowed” to do so. This is simply a lack of respect towards hotel guests and it is not professional. Hope this review will help future hotel guests.
Very disappointed!!! It is not a truly 5 stars hotel! It has no more then 3! The room cleaning is a leg-pull: we stayed 3 nights and they didn’t make the room or the balcony not even once, only the bathroom. The breakfast (which was included) had cheap food and the restaurant menu was poor but with very expensive and inedible food😰. The pool is not heated and the hotel beach not clean. I do not recommend at all!
Rooms are pretty large and clean. The breakfast is 5*. The beach area is pretty rocky and there is only a 25 meters length beach section, that provides easily access to the sea. The swimming pool is very far from the 5* standard, it is not even a 4* swimming pool. The parking is extremely crowded, being extremely undersized.
