This lovely homestay is less than a 10-minute walk from Basco Airport. You can have hot and cold water from the dispenser, as well as use their utensils for free. The air-conditioned rooms are well maintained. There are televisions both on the first and second floors. The owner also has a store on the first floor where you can buy basic necessities. The bathrooms, although shared, are always kept clean. This homestay is also within walking distance to eating spots and souvenir shops in Basco. The Ivatans can speak and understand both English and Tagalog, so you wouldn't have a hard time asking for directions. One downside, though, is its lack of wi-fi. However, that is clearly stated in their description, so you should already be prepared beforehand. Smart has the best reception in Batanes; Globe has intermittent connection even in Basco (it becomes worse in farther areas). Overall, this is a highly recommended accommodation in Basco for its affordability and strategic location. Its kind and helpful owner is a welcome addition. …
The place is affordable to all travelers. The owner Mommy Linda was so accommodating to me and to my son during our 2 nights of stay. Walking distance to the airport about 5 mins. away. A home away from home.
Before anything else, I would like the readers to remember that this place is not a Hotel but a Homestay so you have to expect what's your money's worth. We paid P1,200 for 3 persons for an air-conditioned room. There is only one comfort room on the second floor but that's okay because the comfort room is very well maintained with heater. You can also use the kitchen and eating utensils, television and terrace. Plus, the rooms are very clean with free us of towels and blankets. Most importantly, you will not feel like you're a stranger, rather you'll feel like home. Your money is worth it for sure.
The rooms were divided by wood, (a big room divided by several rooms), the cr was too small. Not really a good place to stay. You can get a better room for the same price from other homestay or hotel. No airport transfer, I was not even sure if they know they were having guests. So we had to hire a tricycle because it was raining, this took a while because they are all booked already. So it is very important to take note of that when you come in Batanes.
it is a homestay in basco town proper. 1st floor of the house the owner has a store (convenient store, feeds, gasul) i have problem staying in a gasul business because you can never can tell by accident hopefully not. the toilet and bath is shared with other rooms, i think they have 6 rooms (2rooms at the 1st floor and 4rooms on the 2nd floor) the owner and her staff are friendly. they will help you and answer you questions about batanes. the balcony is my fave place quiet place for coffee. inside the room rm 4 the neighbor is kinda noisy doing their household chores (wash the dishes and i think its near ther cr too). overall stay is just fine if your in a tight budget.. and 1 thing more they do not serve breakfast but they have utensils and cooking stuffs free of use if you plan to cook. they used to have wifi but accdg to the owner their pocket wifi was stolen by uhm.. its around 3mins away to the airport…
It's a home stay so don't really expect too much, and you get what you pay for. So since the rates are really cheap, try to temper your expectations. It's greatest advantage is that it's actually just a 5 minute walk from the airport, though that means that the airplane noise is bound to wake you up early in the morning. The ground floor is a small store, so that means you have access to basic stuff you might need like toiletries and some snacks.
With my husband and seven friends we arrived in basco on june 11, 2015 and checked in immediately. My friends paid 350-400/day and we paid 1000/nite for our rm.cooking and use of utensils were free. The owner owns a store that almost has every grocery that we needes which made our lives easier. Her employee marina, along with 2 others, was so accommodating and friendly. The place is so near the poblacion and the airport which we found convenient. Our tour guide Aurea (09491583580) was so patient with us to the point she accompanied us down the beach at alapad rock under the scorching sun biking around till sundown, which was a first time for her. batanes is a paradise and the people we met made it even more special for us. Just in case you want to know, we spent less than 16K including airfare for a 3n/3d stay and lunches with lobsters, coconut crabs and lunis (ivatan adobo).…
Spent almost a week here and it feels like home. Met a few travelers who were staying at the lodge during my stay. The owner and her niece were very accommodating and they make sure that you won't get lost in the area whenever you're going outside for a walk or if you're biking. They took care all of us there. There's a free water refill, you can also use their kitchen if you wanna cook your own meals, utensils are also available and they also have a convenient store to provide you things you may need. It's very accessible from the airport too so you don't need to hire a tricycle for airport transfers. If you walk around town this lodge is also near to the market and other souvenir shops. The whole stay was great and I will still choose this lodge if I go back to Basco. The only thing they lack is wifi connections. As it's really difficult to have internet in Basco, it will be a big plus if they have.…
Nice owner with a nice helper - the latter speaks fluent English while the former can speak sufficient English. Always smiling, these ladies. The place is clean. the bed is comfortable enough. There's also gas cooker, plenty of utensils, cutlery and plates provided if you feel like cooking. The real reason we chose this place as it is very near to the airport, and we didn't regret it a bit. We could even return to our room after checking-in our baggage at the airport before our actual departure. The owner is really a business-minded person - she runs both lodging and a small grocery store. Which is also a plus to the guest like me to find coffee and snacks. It's no five-star, but it's a real bargain. The only thing I wish this place could provide is wifi :)
