Shanedel's Inn was recommended to us by a fellow passenger aboard SEAIR, Kuya Sherwin, he said he stays there everytime he goes to Batanes and that he even rents the room all year round.

We got a room for 800 pesos. It had airconditioning, although it did not do a good job of cooling the room so much (I'm not sure if it was because it was really a hot day or if it was because the the AC itself). They did not provide towels, but Im sure if we asked they would have given us some.

The bed was neat and so was the bathroom.

The staff were friendly, we even chatted with the owner.

Their dining area has great view. You can also see the port from their viewing deck, so if you decide to go to Itbayat island you'd know if the boat is already docked to get passengers.

The Inn has great location, it is near the port, near the plaza, near the church, near Landbank (which has the only ATM in the province) and near most of the places where you can eat at cheap prices. It is also a walking distance to Naidi Hills.

The inn is up a short narrow driveway at the corner of the National highway and Abad St. It is very close to the center of town. It is right on the breakwater and has a restaurant overlooking the sea. It has very bare rooms which are quite small, but have airconditioning and hot water. The owner is very friendly and helpful but only serve food for breakfast and dinner. The rooms although cheap by international standards (P1800 for 2 people) are pricey considering their very basic facilities. However the view and roar of the sea at night make it worth it. It has one of the most convenient locations in town. I would consider it the 2nd best hotel in the city proper.

This is a review for their food ONLY because we didn't stay here, we just had DINNER.

While we were biking around after visiting the Basco Light House we happened to pass by the area where this place was situated. You could notice this inn because of its huge name on top. SHANEDEL'S...
We went in, checked it out and found out that they have a restaurant. Since that was still in the early afternoon we decided to book a table for dinner. They (the owner and other workers) suggested that we make a reservation and pre-order so we won't be waiting long. So we did. We had fresh tomato pasta, tuna (which was the highlight of our dinner), and their Lunis, a Batanes kind of adobo.
The venue is good, relaxing, near the water, could watch the sunset (we did actually).
The workers, very shy(average), but the owner was courteous and even provided us free desert and asked how our meal was. COSTUMER SERVICE up to 10. (Thank you!)

Price range: We had 3-4 orders, 4-5 rice, 2 beers, and 2 other beverages.
We paid for an estimate of 1,700-2,500php (ESTIMATE)

There are really only a few places in Basco, Batanes that you will get good or decent food and Shenedel's Inn is one of them. We had dinner here at the recommendation of a friend and were not disappointed. The fish was really fresh and the meat dishes well flavoured and prepared.

It is a humble family run establishment and the lady owner takes a personal interest to see that things are in order. Her daughter who is a nurse working at the local hospital, served us. Although we did not stay here, I was impressed to see that she had hired a couple of security guards for the property and that the accommodation areas were generally well kept.

On my final day, my cousin Mei and I trooped down to Shenedel's to have breakfast which great. It was a beautiful morning and we had a good view of the sea and the harbour from the dining terrace. They even had butter ….most of the other places in Basco did not serve butter but margarine.

Shanedel's is very well located. With the dining area overlooking the bay, you are treated to a beautiful sunset and sounds of the waves everyday. The innkeeper is a fantastic host. She is accommodating and friendly - took very good care of everyone. Every meal was a treat for us. Will stay there again if I ever return to Batanes.

The Inn is located in Basco proper area, and is overlooking it's local small port. The view is just beautiful and the atmosphere is perfect. The owner and the staff are really nice and go out of their way to take care of you. The Inn itself is rather run-down and could benefit from more maintenance work. However, it's clean. Hot water is available, but the water supply is really weak and sometimes it just drops, not really flowing. So if you have long hair, it will be difficult to wash it. The food has to be ordered in advance (as almost everywhere in Batanes), in fact we had only breakfasts there, which were rather basic. But brewed cofee is available. The owner also helps to organize tour of the islands, which seem rather expensive at the begining, but in the end - it actually makes sense. And Batanes is absolutely spectacular!

Although this was not on our first list because I don't like advance booking. When our plane (Skyjet) touched down in Basco Airport at around 7:10 am, after searching 3 hotels which were fully booked, we were able to find this place. Situated along the main hi-way ( town proper) & a walking distance from the airport. The owner Alili was very accomodating. The room she offered was spacious (good for 4 persons) although a little bit expensive (P3100 per night). At the back of the place is their restaurant where one could see the beautiful sunset. The free included breakfast was very tasteful & to be honest, we have not tasted it in other hotels we've stayed, like the waffles, French toast, etc. The only downside here is that there was no wifi available. Generally staff & owners were very accomodating & helpful. They will tend to your needs & help in the iteneraries of the tourist spots to visit as well as provide tour guides.
