We were originally booked at the Batanes Seaside Lodge Main near the beach but due to bad weather our original flight to Basco was cancelled. I called the hotel to request for rebooking but the front desk said they are already fully booked on my requested date, nevertheless they offered for us to stay at their annex located at the center of the town. The front desk was more than helpful to accomodate us. The annex is located at the second floor of a commercial building. The place is clean and well maintained. The room has airconditioning and hot shower and they offer free coffee anytime. The staff is helpful and accomodating, they can help you order food or call for trike as needed. They even made reservations for us to have dinner at Fundacion Pacita! Even the van driver and…
My partner and I stayed at the lodge for a friends wedding and it was superb! The room was comfortable with a lovely view. The hotel is within walking distance from several wonderful restaurants and amazing cliff side views! We only had a few days here but the staff was wonderful and accommodating. We can't wait to come back!
What I loved about Batanes Seaside is its great ambiance. You can get a great view from the balcony, however, if you want to go to the beach, you should go Octagon, the accommodation beside it. Rooms are nice as well, you get complimentary slippers, toothbrush, soap, but no shampoo, so bring your own. Very friendly staff, I felt at home even for staying for just 3 nights, but I guess it’s just the warmth of the Ivatan people so anywhere you stay you’ll get the same treatment. It’s location is about 10-15 minutes walk from the “market” (Abad st.) where stores and canteens and coffee shops are located. It’s near if you like walking. Hey, it’s good to explore the town on your feet! Will definitely stay here on my next visit. Ate Mina was very helpful!:)
The crew of Seaside took excellent care of our family (2 adults + 2 teen boys). The tours offered were well organised, well-planned, informative, and timely. Our guide (JR) and driver (Amboy) watched over us. A group of 4 qualifies for a private tour- which is great. Food is by special order and arrangement. Batanes is an island community and food needs to be sourced. Bringing your own favored food, fruit, snacks and drinks strongly suggested.
The Batanes Seaside Lodge and Resto (BSLR) is a 10 minute ride from the airport and an equal walk to the center of Basco. A simple, clean inn, BSLR is right by the shoreline and right on the edge of town. BSLR has very friendly staff that will help you with anything you need: From great pre-arranged tours of the island (we did the three day itinerary — northern Batan, Sabtang Is., southern Batan Is.) to the much needed massage at the end of a tiring day of hiking. The restaurant’s food is simple and very local (suggest you bring your own snacks and booze ); and with everything in Batanes, you need to make sure you pre-order as food variety and supply is not as convenient as in most other provinces. Rooms are basic, but clean; with air conditioning and water heaters standard.…
