Firstly to say that this review is based on our low season visit in late April /early May, so much will change.
We decided to hire a car to explore Croatia, but the satnav took us (and 2 Bentley owners!) down a narrow private drive at the back of the hotel with no access. So we had to drive a further 4 miles to the hotel's road, where there are no signs at all to indicate the hotel name. Apparently this is the council's fault for not allowing any signs to be displayed, which was a common theme throughout the week.
For the price we paid the hotel far exceeded our expectations. The staff were all lovely, particularly Mladan the bar manager, and the lovely ladies at breakfast. Rooms were excellent, despite the much-mentioned bathroom set up, and spectacular views only spoiled by incessant building work which will be finished by high season. Spa was great, especially if the weather turned, and rooftop pool lovely but cold. Breakfast was plentiful and varied, and we chose to pay for the half board buffet menu @€25 pp twice during the week. As hotel food goes this was very nice, and the head chef was very enthusiastic about the his menu.
Seget Donji was very quiet, and most restaurants not open in April. You can walk to the stunning Trogir, but at the time of our visit the roads and pavements were ALL dug up, making the walk very unpleasant. One must-do trip is KRKA national park which was amazing, and I will do a separate review for that along with restaurants Buta, Frankies and Yacht Club.
Overall a generous 5 stars from us as most of the above criticisms are not the hotel's fault, and the staff make it a most pleasurable experience. Maybe a lower score if we paid the full price of €200 pn.

Just back from a three night stay in this hotel, it was an interesting stay. Main issues were:

1. the hotel rooms have an open bathroom area. I've attached a photo. OK if you are rooming on your own, but not great for friends.
2. the pool area was never cleared up in the morning, glasses and bottles on the bar area, towels around. Not that many beds, although went up early so managed to get one.
3. the pool is lovely but small.
4. the staff are friendly enough, but.... when we checked in, we asked if we could have lunch as it had been an early start, the man on reception, said yes at 4pm, turns out if you actual ask someone in the bar area they will make sandwiches for you! We asked someone in the bar area if the roof bar was open, his answer was no, his colleague had been in a car accident and therefore he had to work downstairs, obviously no one to cover.
5. breakfast is a case of work it out yourself. No menus on the table, so no idea what you can have, there's a lady cooking eggs, but the waiter didn't speak great english, therefore we saw a few wrong orders.

All that said, the rooms were comfortable and very clean, great views of the sea and knowing all of the above I probably would stay there again. Croatia was lovely and this hotel is a short walk to the beach.

Positives: The rooms are modern and clean. We got a room on the 3rd floor where the balconies are very small. We could see from the outside that all lower floors have bigger balconies and windows. All rooms at the hotel face the sea which is very nice. The pool on the roof top is nice, clean and refreshing.
The restaurant at the hotel is good (although I got a histamine reaction to the tuna) but a little pricey and the menu gets a little boring after a couple of days. As it is so hot out and there are no restaurants nearby we did end up eating here a number of times during the 5 days we were there. Friendly staff.

Negatives: very random subbed set-up by the pool with make shift pillows on a few beds. Feedback to the hotel: invest in better, nicer, softer sunbeds - it does a lot for the overall impression of the hotel. Also, the same music is played every where, everyday, all day. Awful (!) covers of otherwise great songs. It was starting to drive me mad by day 3. Please just subscribe to Spotify and put on a decent, original playlist!

Lastly, the location is not great. While relatively close to the water taxi that will take you to Trogir (4 euro one way, 7 euros t/r) there is really nothing else within walking distance. No little shop for snacks, water or drinks, no restaurants, nothing. There is a building site in front of the hotel and I suspect the view from the restaurant and many rooms will be limited by the 2024 season. Taxi to the airport was 26 euro and takes less than 20 minutes.

Overall, we had a great time and no major complaints but I would not stay at this hotel again. Better to get something actually on the waterfront or walking distance from Trogir centre.

We loved our stay at the Hotel Ola & the view is breathtaking.
We booked a comfort room & it was beautiful (yes the toilet in the room is unusual) There isnt a kettle, but one was supplied within an hour of us asking. The hotel was spotlessly clean & the staff were both friendly and incredibly helpful.
There are 2 pools & though they were a little chilly they were still enjoyable.
The hotel is about a 15 minute drive from the airport & is on the main road so easy to find, but don't worry it's surprisingly very quiet.
You can walk to Trogir in about half an hour though be aware the pavements aren't great. Plenty of taxis to catch a ride back & a bus stop not far from the hotel too.
We would definitely go back.

Firstly, all the staff were very friendly, the beds were very comfy and the views were fantastic. Oddly there is a lack of information everywhere. eg info sheets in the room with meal and spa openng times, info about the local area, places to go and things to see, and in the Spa, how to turn on the saunas. (and on at least 2 days, no drinks in there.)The Spa is not a welcoming place and the small pool is set at 27 deg they say but felt very cold.. There is only a small area to have drinks or meet up, with uncomfortable low seating. As a vegetarian, I didn't enjoy the food. Choice for main meal at dinner? Pasta with tomato sauce,at least twice in one week. Special requests can be put into the chef and he will make a risotto (twice in one week). By the end of the week, not every salad had meat or fish in it but dinner wasn't a happy experience. Eggs cooked all ways at beakfast were very good but we weren't aware we could have those at first as again, no information on that was available. As others have said, there is nothing much around there and to get to or from the main road to the hotel involves climbing 64 steps. The air con made a noise but didn't take the temperature down further than 21 deg and nights were too warm. I won't be going there again or recommending it. With some effort, it could be a much better hotel but as it is, I would give it a reluctant 3 stars- it is not a luxury hotel, as they advertise.

The view from the balcony and pool at this hotel is its absolute selling point!
The breakfast staff were very attentive and polite however the management and front of house staff came across as quite rude. The hotel is immaculately clean.
The room design is a little odd, the bathroom is literally in the bedroom meaning there is very little privacy, this may be comfortable for some couples but it was a NO from me. The menu for lunch/dinner is overpriced and very little variety.
I would also recommend checking your bill at the end as we had 2 drinks sneakily added on, it could not have been a mistake as we never had any drinks or food during our stay, therefore seemed like a hotel just trying to chance there arm.

On booking this holiday with Vogage Prive we had requested single beds as travelling with a friend. This allegedly had not been passed onto the hotel, and it took over 90 minute to separate two beds and make them. Reception looked in need if updating. On entering the room. Curtains was hanging off the track. Though the interior design had some ordinary cupboard door, other were stirling board with no handles, so as you opened and closed the door, you got splinters in your handles. The balcony also had this between each balcony. Chairs on the balcony were missing matched. Though the balcony was large the chairs were tiny. The upstairs had all mismatched plastic loungers. One day there were 4 coverings on the chairs that were filthy. Food was luke warm.
The gym had two pieces of equipment in it. There was no mention of the 64 steps to the road. A further hill and more steps to the sea.

Room was nice, clean and very spacious. Did not like the sliding door which was shared between the shower/toilet. Very open, meaning everything was heard.
Food in the restaurant was very disappointing, not a large variety or quantity. No ice cream so dry deserts. One choice of cheese, very slow to replenish empty trays/plates. When I complained about the food I was told we were out of season - my money was good enough so I expect the food to be good enough and it wasn’t!
Rooftop swimming pool was depressing, shelves behind bar were empty, no complete cushions on beds and some were ripped. No atmosphere. On a rainy day we spent the day in the indoor swimming pool area, this was very pleasant.
Reception area was very unwelcoming. Would definitely not recommend this hotel.

The views from this hotel are some of the best ever! Location was a bit too far from Split, taxi or car definitely needed, but the views made it worth it, especially from the roof terrace with the pool. 30 minute walk to Trogir which is such a beautiful town, definitely reccommend a visit. Staff were lovely and even gave us a kettle for our room when we asked for it. Spa is great, overall a great stay with breathtaking views

Are there any shops and restaurants close to the hotel? Is there public transport to Trogir?

Geneva, Switzerland13 contributions5 helpful votes
Hi, There is a little grocery shop 10 min walking distance. But for shopping, I would advise you to go to Trogir (the closest town) and/or Split. You can find the boat line to Trogir on the beach which is the most convenient transport. To go to Split it is better to ask the hotel for advice. There is a very good restaurant in Seget called Franki. In Trogir I would recommend Alka, Callebotta and Kristian restaurants.

Hi, yes absolutely. the best thing is to contact the front desk by email and book the tour you would like. I know the hotel can also propose Vis and Solta islands. Enjoy! it is really a beatiful region and a very nice hotel. I went back few weeks ago and I still enjoyed it. thanks Marie
