The hotel is different every year. The level of skill and work that goes into making this hotel is amazing. This should be on everyone's bucket list! Sleeping bags and liners are provided which make for a very good nights sleep. We weren't cold at all. They even wake you up in the morning with a hot juice and a...

Dear guest, Thank you for your comment - I am happy to hear that you enjoyed your stay! To be woken up with hot berry juice is definitely a good start for the day when you get out of your sleeping bag into fresh morning air.

The staff were friendly and check in was efficient. We were taken off in small groups to tour the hotel before being shown to our rooms. We stayed in a suite which was stunning - the attention to detail was simply fabulous. I kept noticing new things every time I went into the room. The bar and cathedral were beautiful....

Pro: 1. The glass igloos just opened and are great. The bathroom is spacious and modern and the beds are adjustable. They are well heated and have a good ventilation system so that the view is always good. 2. The staff is super friendly and helpful. 3. Unfortunately we didn't use it but they have an aurora alarm. Con: 1....

Dear client, Thank you for your feedback! We also realized that ending breakfast at 9:00 am is too early for our clients and therefore we have pro-longed the breakfast until 10:00 am. The ventilation system makes a small noise, indeed, as it keeps enough oxygen inside the igloo. We hope to see you soon again!

It was for us a great experience to sleep in the igloo. We had good equipment and we were not cold. The dinner in the kota was good and the woman showing us around was helpful and friendly. But few things could be much better. It may be a finnish thing but they were a lot of restriction: you are...

Claustrophobic yet mildly haunting, this has to be one of the loneliest hotels on earth. We popped into a few eerie rooms, threw some water onto a snow sauna then got left alone a room to get picked up. The sugar cookies made the visit bearable, as did the hot juice. However, no drink or snack could quash this gal's...

We arrived at the snow hotel at about 5:30pm, so it was perfect timing. We had enough time to check in, have the tour, find out the do's and don'ts and peruse the souvenir section before we had to go to dinner. Dinner was in a kota (log cabin) and was surprisingly nice. My kids did not like the selection,...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
ARCTIC SNOWHOTEL Our SnowHotel sleeps 70 guests and is one of the largest in the Nordic region. This spectacularly handsome building is carved each year to be different in appearance. The walls and furniture surfaces of the unique rooms are decorated with ice art and illuminated artwork. The room temperature is 0–5C°, but using the sleeping bags intended for extreme conditions combined with reindeer furs, you can be sure you will stay in warmth and comfort. On the shores of the lake the moonlight, stars and Northern Lights illuminate the silent, Lappish nature. As our guest you will have a good night’s sleep as the Aurora Alarm searches the skies for you. GLASS IGLOOS Next to SnowHotel you will find the tranquillity of the glass igloos. Staying overnight in a glass igloo feels like sleeping in the open, but inside the igloo it is just as warm and cosy as a hotel. The igloo village is set in an opening surrounded by pine trees, sufficiently far away from the city lights, making ideal conditions for watching the Northern Lights and enjoying starry skies. Have a good night’s sleep as the Aurora Alarm searches the skies for you: once the Aurora Alarm has woken you up, all you need to do is open your eyes, look at the night sky and enjoy the sight from the comfort of your bed. ... more   less
