It was definitely worth the visit but very touristy and at times felt like being on a package tour. We stayed in the glass igloo and it was comfortable enough but fairly basic. It was definitely warm which was nice and would have been great if the northern lights had shown up but the weather is always unpredictable. We enjoyed...

Thank you for your feedback, I am glad to hear that you enjoyed your visit! We have different things to offer for our guests; 3 different restaurants, traditional Finnish sauna and also snow saunas - unforgettable experience especially if you try most of them. I agree, it is hard to explain, you just have to give it a go.

Interesting place to visit, definitely design for tourist but it's an experience. The igloos has only 20 mins of hot water per day so please take note, they are not exceptionally huge more suitable for couples than huge families. Win or the rooms in the ice hotels anytime, which everything is iced and cool except the furs on the bed....

Thank you for your comments. Actually, we do have also family glass igloos which are 33m2 and we can fit 5 beds inside of it so bigger families are also welcomed!

We stayed one night in the snow hotel as part of a group of mainly not young, but fun- and adventure-loving travellers. It's magical when you arrive on a snowy night, sit in the restaurant for the sleeping-bag demo and see the reindeer in the enclosure in the grounds. And the snow hotel entrance with its giant fish sculptures is...

Thank you for your feedback. I agree that if you might feel claustrophobic, staying at SnowHotel might not be a good option for you - instead, I would suggest staying in our glass igloos. I highly recommend to book a suite when staying at SnowHotel as each of our suite is unique, lots of snow and ice decorations in the...

We spent a night there and from the pick up step till to the drop off everything was perfect. We already had booked the transfers from the hotel's website and were picked up just on time. As we arrived after the paperwork we were given a guide who told every detaik about the hotel. We had chosen to dine in...

I can't recommend this place highly enough....I stayed a night in the glass igloo and it was such a great experience. I was VERY lucky and got to see the northern lights too - thanks entirely to the great set up they have at the hotel whereby if the northern lights are spotted, then an alarm sounds in your room....

Thank you for your feedback, it is nice to hear that you enjoyed your stay and hopefully you will come back and stay at SnowHotel as well

I spent one night in an igloo with my boyfriend in January. Although we didn't get to see the Northern lights, I enjoyed our stay. The hotel offers something unique. Although it is not cheap, staying in an igloo was once in a lifetime experience for us. Igloos are pretty comfortable, woth adjustable beds to see the view much better....

We visited this hotel in the hope of seeing the Northern Lights which eluded us in Iceland two years ago. As it happened, once again the lights did not dance for us, but we all know they cannot be guaranteed! The lady on reception was very friendly and helpful but she had her work cut out as a few of...

Thank you for your feedback and useful information for the other guests. As you mentioned, we had a wedding that night so that caused some changes for our standard procedure but I am glad that it didn't have much effect on your stay. For this winter season, we have managed to get the wifi working also inside the glass igloos....

Most important thing to know is that you will be warm and snug as you sleep. Ice carvings in the suites are quite charming. Highly, highly recommended is the smoked salmon dinner in the Kota restaurant. The staff was terrific. Not a cheap option, but fun for a night.

You pay like for 5 star and get 3 star service. We spent 1 night in the snow hotel, the experience is just great! Experience of a lifetime. Thank you for staying with us and for your valuable feedback. This is a really tough review to write given the nature of the hotel but here goes. After staying for three days here's what we thought: Great: - The Snow Hotel is amazing: some beautiful rooms (but if you want the fantastic ones you need to get a suite); the others are just cool (but not too cold) - The...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
ARCTIC SNOWHOTEL Our SnowHotel sleeps 70 guests and is one of the largest in the Nordic region. This spectacularly handsome building is carved each year to be different in appearance. The walls and furniture surfaces of the unique rooms are decorated with ice art and illuminated artwork. The room temperature is 0–5C°, but using the sleeping bags intended for extreme conditions combined with reindeer furs, you can be sure you will stay in warmth and comfort. On the shores of the lake the moonlight, stars and Northern Lights illuminate the silent, Lappish nature. As our guest you will have a good night’s sleep as the Aurora Alarm searches the skies for you. GLASS IGLOOS Next to SnowHotel you will find the tranquillity of the glass igloos. Staying overnight in a glass igloo feels like sleeping in the open, but inside the igloo it is just as warm and cosy as a hotel. The igloo village is set in an opening surrounded by pine trees, sufficiently far away from the city lights, making ideal conditions for watching the Northern Lights and enjoying starry skies. Have a good night’s sleep as the Aurora Alarm searches the skies for you: once the Aurora Alarm has woken you up, all you need to do is open your eyes, look at the night sky and enjoy the sight from the comfort of your bed. ... more   less
