- You can´t order food when ever you want from the restaurant, no snack menu they don´t even sell sandwiches. I AM HUNGRY!!!!!!!!! - Bring your own food! We told the reception that we not want the wake up and hot drink 7.30 but got it anyway. There need to be toilets inside the locker room too. There need to...

I am sorry to hear that your evening didn't go as planned. New Year's Eve is a bit special night as we serve only buffet dinner which is compulsory for our overnight guests and we don't have other dinner options that night. The bar in our main building is open every night, also on New Year's Eve. I think our...

A night in the cold Snow hotel was followed by a night in the warm Igloo's. We accommodated the 'cold' aspects on the same nights; drinks at the Ice Bar followed by dinner in the Ice Restaurant, topping it off with the night in the Snow hotel. There was barely chance to thaw out. Waking at 2.30am to use the...

The snow hotel itself is pretty amazing, the sculptures and everything were great. Sleeping in the rooms was extremely uncomfortable so I wish I didn't book to sleep here. The lounge area had a fire place but it was never going so was freezing sitting in there trying to relax. Dinner in the ice restaurant was ok, the staff need...

Thank you for your feedback. I am sorry to hear that you didn't enjoy your stay. Our staff will give everyone instructions how to use the sleeping bag and by following the instructions and with proper clothing underneath, you won't get cold. We do have a fire place and there is also firewood just next to the fire place so...

We visited and toured this hotel but did not stay in the room. The ice artists were still working on some of the rooms. They are friendly. The ice art pieces were beautiful and enchanting. We visited and sat in the restaurant that served food, the ice bar, the chapel, the normal bed rooms, the higher end bed suite. It...

Our family of 4 with 2 children aged 8 and 12 stayed one night in the Snow Hotel in a family room. A fun experience taking us all outside of our comfort zones. The sleeping bags were extremely comfortable and warm. Extra activities were expensive, the private sauna experience were very expensive and no cheaper for children, we did not...

Thank you for your comments. It is surprising how warm the sleeping bags are, isn't it? :) no need to wear several layers of clothes, otherwise you would feel too warm! Our business (and the amount of people staying overnight) has grown so quickly that we definitely are considering to make some changes to our common areas to increase the...

The glass igloo is only 2nd year in operation. Everything is brand new and very clean. It's not cheap but worth every single penny. The owners have used their hearts to build and run this hotel. No need to go anywhere else, stay here at the glass igloo for at least one night if you come to Rovaneimi for the...

Fantastic unique experience! The effort and time it must take to create this every year is phenomenal! We went ice fishing and highly recommend the Finnish hot jacuzzi/snow sauna/sauna experience. The snow sauna is unique though wasn't as warm as we expected. Lots of helpful obliging staff with special mentions to Tommy, Hempaa and Sampo who went the extra mile,...

Agreed with fellow contributor, KateT5555 that the workers there are indeed tolling throughout the night making the ice hotel. Lights and noise from the machines really marred the experience. Everything is not ready. I am glad that my friends and I have managed to catch a glimpse of aurora lights, before it got marred by the water spraying. We also...

I am sorry to hear that you also were disturbed by our workers - the building process continues until Dec 19 when we complete the hotel. We stayed in an igloo hotel for 2 nights! The place is fantastic and a great experience in lifetime! It is a individual "villa" per room, that mean each room is an individual unit of igloo by itself, under the sky, surrounded by snow!!! The roof is with full glass opening to sky day and night! Official Description (provided by the hotel)
ARCTIC SNOWHOTEL Our SnowHotel sleeps 70 guests and is one of the largest in the Nordic region. This spectacularly handsome building is carved each year to be different in appearance. The walls and furniture surfaces of the unique rooms are decorated with ice art and illuminated artwork. The room temperature is 0–5C°, but using the sleeping bags intended for extreme conditions combined with reindeer furs, you can be sure you will stay in warmth and comfort. On the shores of the lake the moonlight, stars and Northern Lights illuminate the silent, Lappish nature. As our guest you will have a good night’s sleep as the Aurora Alarm searches the skies for you. GLASS IGLOOS Next to SnowHotel you will find the tranquillity of the glass igloos. Staying overnight in a glass igloo feels like sleeping in the open, but inside the igloo it is just as warm and cosy as a hotel. The igloo village is set in an opening surrounded by pine trees, sufficiently far away from the city lights, making ideal conditions for watching the Northern Lights and enjoying starry skies. Have a good night’s sleep as the Aurora Alarm searches the skies for you: once the Aurora Alarm has woken you up, all you need to do is open your eyes, look at the night sky and enjoy the sight from the comfort of your bed. ... more   less
