Wow! Sleeping in the ice hotel was the coolest experience... Literally. I was surprised to find the gear they provide keeps you warm and comfortable and waking up in what looks like the castle from Frozen is unmatched to any other experience on my world travels! Reindeer to feed on sight, warm Scandinavian breakfast and the snow sauna was the...

Fun, different experience. The hotel provided good quality sleeping bags, but it gets cold at night so to keep warm while sleeping; bring wool socks, thermowear shirt and long johns and a warm hat. Or you know, share body heat 😉

Thank you for staying with us. Wool socks are definitely a good idea to take with you to keep you a bit warmer and remember to keep your sleeping bag closed so that the warmth doesn't escape

First off, can I just say that the fact this review asked if this hotel offers refrigerators in the rooms, is hysterical. It's a SNOW hotel. So this place is split up into two sections, the snow hotel and the igloos. I stayed in the snow hotel, so I cannot give you any info on the igloos, other than they...

Have just got back from our experience in the igloo and ice hotel and had a wonderful time. Igloos are very comfortable with all you need but the ice hotel is a very different way to sleep. It was too cold for me but my husband slept all night no problem. Staff were very good nothing was too much trouble...

Thank you for staying with us. It is definitely a good idea to have a sauna in the evening to warm up a little before going to sleep inside Arctic SnowHotel

- Fab location - Wonderful staff (Marika!) - Food disappointing for price - Igloo stay better than night in ice room We have just returned from a 3 day trip of a lifetime in Finland staying at the Arctic Snow Hotel And Igloos. We had booked this on offer after spotting the igloos on various websites and having listed it...

Thank you for your detailed comments, I am glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay. It is good to book several nights as Rovaniemi has lots to offer! Couple of nights in the wilderness at our hotel can be also very relaxing as you suggest. I have forwarded your thanks to our staff and especially to Marika as well...

Our glass igloo was clean and tidy, I imagine had the night been clear that it was perfectly set up to see the aurora, with beds that can be tilted and moved to face out the windows. The campus was interesting and beauty Kelly decorated with lights. Dinner in the tipi hut was cosy and warm. The salmon is cooked...

A bit further from the centre and takes around 30 min to get to from city centre. Transportation is at a price. The hotel provides 2 types on rooms, glass igloo with glass roof and ice hotel with ice walls and beds built from ice. We stayed in the glass igloo which is for 3. The log is not large...

The best place of our whole trip because we managed to catch aurora here consecutively for 2 nights. Igloo has toilet facilities and space enough for the family. Best of all it had a buzzing system to alert guests of impending auroras even in the middle of the night. Only set-back is that each unit had a lighted doorway and...

Thank you for staying with us! Many people do book two nights with us in order to have a better chance to see the northern lights but great to hear that you managed to see those on both nights.

Miles from anywhere, there is no light pollution so sightings of the northern lights were expected. Saw it for 10 mins early in the evening. Ate ion the ice restaurant which was an experience but way overpriced for what it was. My husband had salmon and I had Elk. It was so cold in there we had our full outdoor...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
ARCTIC SNOWHOTEL Our SnowHotel sleeps 70 guests and is one of the largest in the Nordic region. This spectacularly handsome building is carved each year to be different in appearance. The walls and furniture surfaces of the unique rooms are decorated with ice art and illuminated artwork. The room temperature is 0–5C°, but using the sleeping bags intended for extreme conditions combined with reindeer furs, you can be sure you will stay in warmth and comfort. On the shores of the lake the moonlight, stars and Northern Lights illuminate the silent, Lappish nature. As our guest you will have a good night’s sleep as the Aurora Alarm searches the skies for you. GLASS IGLOOS Next to SnowHotel you will find the tranquillity of the glass igloos. Staying overnight in a glass igloo feels like sleeping in the open, but inside the igloo it is just as warm and cosy as a hotel. The igloo village is set in an opening surrounded by pine trees, sufficiently far away from the city lights, making ideal conditions for watching the Northern Lights and enjoying starry skies. Have a good night’s sleep as the Aurora Alarm searches the skies for you: once the Aurora Alarm has woken you up, all you need to do is open your eyes, look at the night sky and enjoy the sight from the comfort of your bed. ... more   less
