It was for us a great experience to sleep in the igloo. We had good equipment and we were not cold. The dinner in the kota was good and the woman showing us around was helpful and friendly. But few things could be much better. It may be a finnish thing but they were a lot of restriction: you are...

Claustrophobic yet mildly haunting, this has to be one of the loneliest hotels on earth. We popped into a few eerie rooms, threw some water onto a snow sauna then got left alone a room to get picked up. The sugar cookies made the visit bearable, as did the hot juice. However, no drink or snack could quash this gal's...

I didn't stay the night here, only went to visit the restaurant and have a tour with my daughter. Quite pricey , in fact I would have only done the tour but I wanted to eat here as well. It is a great thing to experience and see how everything is made. A nice german girl took us around to...

The hotel is beautiful. take their suits if you can , otherwise you will ended up in a very very small room with just snow around it. there will be not ice bed as you imagine just a very small snow room with ice bed that you can not even see if it is made by ice or not. so...

We arrived at the snow hotel at about 5:30pm, so it was perfect timing. We had enough time to check in, have the tour, find out the do's and don'ts and peruse the souvenir section before we had to go to dinner. Dinner was in a kota (log cabin) and was surprisingly nice. My kids did not like the selection,...

If you want a great snow hotel experiance go to the snow hotel in kirkenes. It was a really great experience, the staff make it special and are really FRIENDLY. This one we didnt feel welcome. You get dropped at the front with no instruction, we saw everyone lining up so we just followed, they rush u through a check...

Definitely overpriced for the experience. We did not have a good experience at all. The staff was not friendly compared to people we met there. They barely listen to you when you have a question . The ice bar is fun but it closes at 10 p.m....The rooms are very basic and you pay for the experience and not for...

We had our night in this hotel. Although the hotel itself is beautifully made, and sleeping in our ice-suite was surprizingly comfortable, there were two disappointments. One could be considered a minor nuisance; there are no showering facillities, just a toilet. You come - you sleep -and then you go away, before the day visitors arrive. The other is of...

What a great experience but I must say one that I personally don't want to have again... The evening was nice; tour of the premises, dinner in the kota and ice sauna. Though there was a bit too much extra time in between and not a lot to do. Sleeping in the snow suite was terrible, I just felt claustrophobic...

Even better than I expected - the arctic snow hotel had a stunning Ice Bar, gorgeous Snow Chapel, and even Snow Saunas (still can't get my head around how they don't melt). The guides and staff were friendly, incredibly well-informed, and very safety conscious. After a meal in the wooden Kota restaurant, of salmon cooked over an open fire in...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
ARCTIC SNOWHOTEL Our SnowHotel sleeps 70 guests and is one of the largest in the Nordic region. This spectacularly handsome building is carved each year to be different in appearance. The walls and furniture surfaces of the unique rooms are decorated with ice art and illuminated artwork. The room temperature is 0–5C°, but using the sleeping bags intended for extreme conditions combined with reindeer furs, you can be sure you will stay in warmth and comfort. On the shores of the lake the moonlight, stars and Northern Lights illuminate the silent, Lappish nature. As our guest you will have a good night’s sleep as the Aurora Alarm searches the skies for you. GLASS IGLOOS Next to SnowHotel you will find the tranquillity of the glass igloos. Staying overnight in a glass igloo feels like sleeping in the open, but inside the igloo it is just as warm and cosy as a hotel. The igloo village is set in an opening surrounded by pine trees, sufficiently far away from the city lights, making ideal conditions for watching the Northern Lights and enjoying starry skies. Have a good night’s sleep as the Aurora Alarm searches the skies for you: once the Aurora Alarm has woken you up, all you need to do is open your eyes, look at the night sky and enjoy the sight from the comfort of your bed. ... more   less
