I stayed in an igloo and it was such a fun experience, even though I didn't get to see the northern lights. The igloo was very thoughtfully set up. The hotel has so much to do so it is a great way to see some unique things. However, it is quite far from Rovaniemi so might be difficult if it were your only stay. Be sure to book everything ahead - including your transfers to the hotel!

We got the arctic hotel bus from outside snowman world in Scv. It was a bit expensive but cheaper than a taxi. €20pp each way. The bus driver lovely and helpful. We checked in with ease. Waited only 5 minutes for a guide to show us around and where things were located. Got a full tour in and out. We were shown where the toilet, changing and warm area inside the ice hotel along with how to use our sleeping bags. We were then left to explore and have fun till bedtime. There’s so much to do and see. We explored the lake and had fun sledging. We went into every room in the hotel which was an experience. This truly is amazing. The art is phenomenal. We had a drink in the ice bar. We would have gone again but got the times wrong. The mixologist was great and informative. My partner now loves Riki which he got served. We relocated to the ice bar with hope we could see the Aurora. Unfortunately not. However the ice bar was lovely and relaxing. Our dinner wasn’t until 9… so had a good few drinks. Dinner was fabulous. Started with carrot soup. I’ll try to recreate at home. Served with lovely bread. Main my partner had mash with reindeer and I had bbq salmon. The salmon was delicious as was the reindeer. Dessert was a blueberry sponge. Our night in the ice room was such an awesome experience. We stored our backpacks in our lockers and took essential things to our room, we were able to charge our phones. Personally I didn’t use the fleece witching the sleeping bag. So only used the sleeping bag. Which was fine for me, we slept in base layers and a hat, Rooms so quiet and lovely. Got woken up at 7.30 with warm blueberry juice. Changed in the warm cabin. Breakfast was fabulous and tasty. Plenty of options hot and cold. Next time we will stay in the igloos. This is a must experience. The staff also make it special. Thanks so much. X

We took the "Chill and Dine" arrangement: transfers from and to Santa Claus Village, 3-course dinner in the restaurant and a guided tour in the Snow Hotel. Very professional staff during the dinner, and the dinner quality was great. Very good and well explained guided tour afterwards. It's not cheap, but very recommended when visiting Lapland.

To stay at the ice hotel, what an experience. It would be dumb to say: “It is cold in the ice hotel”, but I will say it nonetheless. It is very cold! But what an amazing experience it is! From the moment that you arrive, and you see the ice hotel, in its icy blue splendor, you already start wondering how you are ever going to get a peaceful night of sleep (spoiler alert: you won’t). Every room has a different theme, and the themes are carved out of the ice by local artists with an eye for amazing details. You have your “Rock ‘n’ roll Room”, your “Urban Room”, and we stayed in the “Sneak Peek” room, where you had a watchful eye guarding over you at night. The check-in is smooth, and they have a mandatory tour for everyone to join. The grounds are pretty big and there’s a lot to do for young and small. On that night, we did the private (snow) sauna, and enjoyed the cool air from our Jacuzzi. The (vegan) dinner at the restaurant, although insanely expensive for what you got, was a cool (pun intended) experience, and throwing your shot glass made out of ice against the Ice Bar Wall after was fun. Then the night itself… Although the bed was comfortable, it certainly takes some getting used to to sleep in a sleeping bag. The sleeping bags work great but we struggled to get through the night because of the cold. Let’s say wee were happy when they woke us in the morning with some hot berry juice! We got some good vegan breakfast before the shuttle service dropped us off at the Santa Claus Village. Special shout out to Camilla from the reception who drove to Rovaniemi City Center to return the phone we lost on our first day!

The Arctic snow hotel exceeded our expectations! We had a hire car so made our own way there so didnt need to use the free transport. When waiting in reception like our email said to do, the receptionist was a little frosty - not the friendliest, she ushered me outside. This was the only low point that they could work on, the experience redeemed itself really quickly! Our guide soon appeared and introduced himself. I wish i remembered his name, he was so lovely, offered to take photos of the 4 of us together as a family (2A 2C), he was funny and very informative. Loved learning all about how they build the hotel etc. We thought we would get a tour and be shown the exit but we were delighted to find that we could wander around and explore ourselves afterwards! We went for the 7pm tour and stayed until 10:30! I pre booked tickets online with drinks in the Ice bar (even non alcoholic ones for the kids) we were able to smash our glasses against the wall once finished, the kids loved this part! They were in awe they were allowed. Lets face it, they cant go in the dishwasher can they?! We took lots of photos, saw reindeer in the paddock out the back, even used their sledding hill to tube down in the dark onto the lake! The kids were in their oils. We went into the sky bar to find hot juice and cookies were free to guided tour guests. We played card games under the stars and ordered a few extras. Everything was lovely, staff tick, hotel tick, would 100% recommend. Not to be missed! Next time i would book a stay on site or eat in their restaurant at the very least, brilliant experience. Thank you!

Fantastic unique experience . We arrived in time for great snow shoe walking trip through the woods with a great young guide . We then toured all of the ice sculptures in every room and saw wedding party come out of the snow chapel . A shot in ice bar and then great Elk in ice restaurant . We then went to sky bar for warm drinks . Staying in the ice hotel at minus 5 was ambitious ! No regrets but we moved after an hour into bunk beds in warm locker room . Noisy in there as other people good over night !

The environment was absolutely stunning and beautiful. However, despite my repeated reminders and e-mails, I requested a small article for my husband's birthday, but it was ignored. The interesting thing is that the employees did not say "don't worry, we will handle it" but they were not taken care of in any way. Apart from that, we paid a lot of money for food and total activities, but I don't think we got what we paid for because the food was not very tasty and the environment was extremely cold. At least a hand warmer or something could have been provided.

the guide was amazing - he explained how they build the hotel every year; the hotel has some amazing ice carvings in each room - which are all made in 3 weeks' time. The ice bar is a bit expensive for a small alcohol shot in ice-glass it was 12 Euro. but it was worth the experience. Once you finish the drink in the ice-glass, the tradition is to throw the ice-glass on the ice-wall of the bar and break it. The Chapel in the ice hotel is also very nice

I stayed in the glass igloo for three nights and it was the coolest place I’ve ever stayed - I wish I was there for longer! They have an Aurora alarm that alerts you whether it detects the Northern Lights which was accurate both nights I saw them. Watching the Northern lights and all the stars through the glass roof from my warm, cosy bed was a once in a lifetime experience and I’m so lucky the lights showed up as it was forecasted to be cloudy (I wouldn’t have even tried to stay up to see them if I was somewhere else but the fact I could go to sleep and then be alerted was such a nice surprise). The Igloo itself is very clean and warm, and theres a heating system on the glass roof that melts away the snow which was helpful as it was snowing two of the days I was there. The Snowhotel also looks amazing so I will be adding that to my list for next time :)
