This property is a 30 - 40 minute drive from the airport so a bit on the outskirts of Rovaniemi. The location is superb. There are 2 choices of accomodation ie rooms in the Snow Hotel section or the cute Glass Igloo. We opted for the latter. It was a truly unique experience. These are compact little igloos with a...

Loved our time here, the staff were all lovely and helpful. We stayed for 4 nights, 3nights in the glass igloos and 1 night in the Snow Hotel. The glass igloos are awesome. Nice and warm and comfy. The snow hotel is beautiful, but the nights sleep is as you can imagine... cold & pretty uncomfortable. However an experience that...

Cool experience staying one night in the glass igloo, though small but with private shower. Stable wifi provided. Got a free drink in the ice bar and able to try sleeping on the the ice bed in the ice hotel rooms with different themes. Also visited the ice chapel. All will be melted afterwards.

We had one night in a glass igloo and one night in the SnowHotel in March 2017. We weren't lucky enough to fall asleep under the aurora but the glass igloos are amazing and really comfortable so I would strongly recommend for anyone looking for a special place to stay. We ended up seeing the aurora the next night so...

Everyone wants to view the Northern Lights when in Norway or Finland and this hotel is the perfect place to do it if they "come out to play". Just lie on your bed with electric controls and set the height and angle you wish to watch the lights by. Open a bottle of wine that you have chilled in the...

Stayed in a glass igloo for a night and was lucky enough to experience the Northern Lights from the comfort of my bed! Had dinner in a Lappish Restaurant and explored the Ice Hotel taking in the amazing thrmed suite rooms carved out of snow and ice. Although it is pricey it is well worth the experience.

Stayed a night in the glass igloos and an experience well worth the cost and it's a must do! The northern lights alarm wakes you up and you can watch the lights from your bed. Breakfast has great variety, is plentiful and has good food. Such an experience.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
ARCTIC SNOWHOTEL Our SnowHotel sleeps 70 guests and is one of the largest in the Nordic region. This spectacularly handsome building is carved each year to be different in appearance. The walls and furniture surfaces of the unique rooms are decorated with ice art and illuminated artwork. The room temperature is 0–5C°, but using the sleeping bags intended for extreme conditions combined with reindeer furs, you can be sure you will stay in warmth and comfort. On the shores of the lake the moonlight, stars and Northern Lights illuminate the silent, Lappish nature. As our guest you will have a good night’s sleep as the Aurora Alarm searches the skies for you. GLASS IGLOOS Next to SnowHotel you will find the tranquillity of the glass igloos. Staying overnight in a glass igloo feels like sleeping in the open, but inside the igloo it is just as warm and cosy as a hotel. The igloo village is set in an opening surrounded by pine trees, sufficiently far away from the city lights, making ideal conditions for watching the Northern Lights and enjoying starry skies. Have a good night’s sleep as the Aurora Alarm searches the skies for you: once the Aurora Alarm has woken you up, all you need to do is open your eyes, look at the night sky and enjoy the sight from the comfort of your bed. ... more   less
