The place hasn't been maintained for years and it is well felt. The rooms are very dirty with all sorts of bugs. The restaurant is about to collapse and not working. Broken asbestos everywhere. Service is terrible. Electricity wires comes out of the walls. The place is not safe for children.

We stayed at this hotel for one night as we wanted to explore more of Koh Samui and thought we’d stay near Lamai beach. Thankfully we were only at this hotel for one night. It was very cheap so we weren’t expecting a lot (approx. £22) however the cleanliness of this hotel was a let down. We checked in and were shown to our little hut. This was a cool little hut however it was very dated. The air con wasn’t great but did the job and the bed was very hard! The bathroom was very dated and was dirty. In terms of location it was a short walk to the beach which was good however this was down a steep hill which meant the walk back to the hotel was more taxing. The hotel advertised laundry services for 40baht a kilogram. We asked if we would be able to do this and they initially said they would be unable to get this done in time for our departure the next day however then said they would, which we were grateful for. We were however then charged 120baht when we collected the laundry.

We traveled as family with two kids 9 and 12. Despite having a prepaid, nonrefundable booking for 4 nights/double cottage we ended up leaving within approx.2 hours as we did not want to sleep in the rooms/beds. The rooms were really dirty with stains on the walls, literally piles of dead insects on the bathroom and suspicious bugs remnants between the bedcovers. The Aircon was sprinkling water on the beds. Possibly other rooms are better. The "resort" is very badly maintained and cleaned. The setting of the cottages and its green and lush vegetation have probably once been wonderful, however, it appears like a place that nobody cares for. Unfortunately. Possibly, if the rate is really low, other cottages could be ok (if better maintained and cleaned than ours) as a packpacker option? Mattresses at the pool were not inviting and the pool itself revealed a layer of dirt making the water greyish when touching the bottom. It's a pity as the original landscaping and setting seemed to have a lot of potential, I supposed it was lovely 20 years ago but currently nobody seems to care about the premises by now.

View your room first. There are some old and dark and some new and modern so “buyer beware”. The food is highly overpriced and not of great quality. First morning in my wife and I shared a breakfast (my appetite was not great). We asked for a second plate so they tried to charge us for 2 breakfasts ! I refused to pay for the second. Also, currently there is noisy reconstruction beside the pool as a result of the January cyclone. And as an aside, it’s a shame that local levels of government don’t clean up their beautiful beach! It’s disgusting to say the least. Garbage, plastic, bottles, styrofoam, etc.

Never ever. The staff was incredible rude and they don't help about nothing. There was big rain that time(pabuk) and in our room, the water just came in, so we choosed we find another place to sleep. We told the staff we would like to go for one night to another place, until the water dissapear from our bungallow, but the staff didn't say nothing, the place was empty, only us and another couple stay at that time there, so they has bungallows, where is the water didn't go inside, but they didn't offer another room, they just let we go to another safetier hotel. After a day we went back to our bungallow, we decide we will stay at that place, for a last night, because our holiday it will finish. After we asked about the payment how many days we have to pay and staff said, all, that day too, when we didn't sleep at Bill resort. After the staff, threatens us, and started to shout with us like we are dogs, if we dont pay, that day too, they will call the police. It was not a cheap anyway, 1 night 3.900baht(120$). We lived there 10 days After this, the staff became silent mode, we ask them, please help to take our suitcases to our bungalow(the road is the beach, sand), they didn't do nothing, didn't help.(28kg) not move, like i said, silent mode. So thats why, my recommend is like this never ever this place, has in Samui much much more better place, especially for this price!

Having just returned with our family, we can say that the new restaurant food is fantastic and the staff are still training but very good. Yes, some things do need repair which we believe is going to happen shortly. It is not a 5 star resort but the most relaxing place and pleasant people you could wish to meet. The bungalows are clean and basic and cleaned everyday. Beach towels are provided and the pool is great. The gardens are run down, over the years and need some care. However if you are prepared to just enjoy the great beach, the pool and now with the new restaurant take over great breakfast which is included. The only disadvantage we can sight is a very steep hill from the bungalows down to the beach, pool and restaurant which is not suitable for everyone. We would come back to Bill's again and this is a wonderful true Thai Resort. Burton Family, Australia

The pool was directly across the path from our bungalow and a couple yards beyond that, the ocean. The bungalows had comfy beds, and ours had a cute little porch overlooking a small pond with fish. There was a window seat, which was great for sitting down and reading in. The hotel has a restaurant with table and beach seating. We got two free litres of water per day. At night, there were loud guests and thin walls, making it somewhat difficult to sleep. Not a problem per se, but be aware there is a steep driveway that may be troublesome for people who cannot walk well.

This was a meeting point on the island for the two sides of the family before starting the holiday together. As such we weren't planning to stay long nor hanging our hopes on it being everything we wanted. Just as well. The pool and beach were fine, and the location good, but reception was unhelpful and unwelcoming, the food was poor (my son's cheese omelette at breakfast was a plain omelette with a slice of processed cheese sitting on top) and the rooms run down. If it hadn't had the pool, it wouldn't have anything going for it.

The rooms are small, worn down and generally unpleasant. The shower and bathroom are old small and has no shampoos etc. It has a great pool, with two small pools but far from the accommodation which is up a steep hill.

I was backpacking with a friend in June, we booked our stay in Bill resort over a tourist information in Bangkok. We didn't expect much when we arrived, cause it was very cheap. We usually stay in dorm rooms in hostels but this place was the same price as a hostel would have been at this time of the season. We were really surprised how nice and clean our room was and that we were really just a few meters away from the beach. For us it was the perfect place to relax after staying in dorm rooms and we really enjoyed a bit of luxury that you usually don't get as a backpacker. We were almost the only guests and had the pool and the beach for ourselves. The restaurant is neither the cleanest nor the best ever but with the included breakfast you can choose whatever and as much as you want, which was really great. For us it was the perfect place to stay. Don't expect a luxurious hotel atmosphere, the rooms are more like simple but cozy bungalows. But if you're looking for a quiet place to relax at the beach and don't have a too high standard, Bill resort is great.
