We had a very long trip that day. I asked for a quiet room, they put us just outside of the lobby. There are doors that can be shut off from the hall way. They opened them up at about 5 am and the staff basically yelled across the building to talk to each other.

I wrote my first review of Dreamwave Roxas a few months ago, but having just stayed there again I'm sorry to see the place has declined since my last visit. My main issue was with cleanliness. It was obvious that my room had not been properly cleaned when I checked in. There were hairs both on the floor and on the dresser in the room. There were also hairs in the bathroom and the remains of used plastic sachets on the bathroom floor. I stayed for three nights, and at no time during my stay was the room cleaned, nor did I see any sign of housekeeping staff in the corridors while I was there. The toilet seat in my bathroom was also broken, so it looks like not much attention is paid to maintenance either. Also, there is still no minibar provided, even though there is a list of food and drink items that are supposed to be available in the room. I noticed this during my previous stay and assumed it was a temporary problem, but obviously not. The hotel still does not have wifi available in the rooms, which I has expected would have been remedied by now, but apparently they have no intention of making it available. The good news is that Globe now have their "GoWIFI" and "GoWIFI Auto" service available in the mall above the hotel, and a strong enough signal was available in my room. This gives you wifi access for 15 Pesos a day, which is quite reasonable. I don't know if that would be available in all the rooms. In the light of my last experience I don't think I would stay there again, and mainly because of the cleanliness issue, I am downgrading my rating to two stars.

You actually have no choice but to stay in this hotel since there are no alternative yet. The Good: It is located right in the center of the city and it is connected to a mall. Interior design is good. Not cheap looking. TV has good cable selections. The Bad: Customer service is non existent. The management clearly doesn't invest in such. Wifi: No wifi during our stay. (They will insist that they made this clear during booking.) Cellphone Signal: No cellphone signal since this is located at the Basement of a mall. They will insist that they made this clear during booking.) No Hot water. (My friend's room has hot water though.) No Windows: (Basement Hotel) Towels were served a bit wet. Aircon is leaking. No Restaurant / Breakfast: (Jollibee, opens at 6am and is 5 minutes away.) No Refrigerator. We got our room with lots of long hair. (Floor, Toilet bowl and Shower). Because the receptionist said they didn't have time to check because our group rushed them for an early check in.) No Security Guard in the morning.

I've tried a few other hotels in the area, and Dreamwave is by far the nicest hotel in Roxas. It's only a few years old and is located inside Xentro Mall, so you have the convenience of having direct access to the shops, supermarket and restaurants there. The lobby is attractive and the room and bathrooms have quality fittings with a comfortable bed with nice quality bedding. There's cable TV, but although the TV guide said 80 channels were available only 3 local channels were working when we were there. The rooms also have a good sized work desk and chair. Complimentary coffee and bottled water is provided in the room free of charge. There is adequate off-street parking available right next to the hotel entrance, with a 24-hour security guard on duty. Now for the not so good part. The hotel is located in the basement of the mall, so there are no outside windows. Also, there is no mobile phone signal at all on either the Globe or Smart networks. To make matters worse, there's no wi-fi service in the rooms, so you're totally out of communication while you're in the room. There is a good wi-fi service in the lobby and mobile phones work there also. Another odd thing is the desk in the room has a list of minibar prices for snacks and drinks, but strangely enough there is no actual minibar provided. At least you know how much they would charge you if they really did have a minibar! Despite the issue I mentioned I think the hotel still offers reasonable value for money and I would stay there again.
