Yes, the food choice is not something you appreciate as in other all inclusive hotels. very limited choice and the service is not consistent. Not much of choices with the drinks either.
Internal swimming pool is good but you have to remind them to heat it up. Bring your own towels as they don't provide towels there but you can buy from the hotel shop or reception for the price of £15 .
We booked through Love holidays and came to know that they don't pay much to the hotel so there is not much you can expect as a love holiday customer. They promise so many things with the tour but most of the places are not included or shown as advertised. They have excuses for everything once they received the money . Stay away from those agents.
Rooms are cleaned and replaced all the linen on daily basis. Housekeeping staff are good and they do a good job.
Tip is mandatory in Tunisia in general so as in hotel .
Its a very beautiful hotel with lovely surroundings .
The hotel has a private sandy beach-I would say a great one.
All in all we have spent really nice our holiday in this place.
Pros:-
This hotel is lively and family orientated.
The food is consistantly good with food to suit most tastes and lots of it.
The waiting staff work hard making sure tables are cleared and relaid very quickly.
Tunisian theme night which whilst i was there was Saturday.
There are pancakes cooked fresh and served at the pool bar in the afternoon in case you need to curb your appetite between meals
The animation team is amazing with lots of activities to keep people interested i.e darts, water polo, aqua gym, quizzes etc. There is even an arabic lesson in case you want to learn a few basic phrases.
Yes the drinks are served in small plastic glasses but didnt seem to be a problem for anyone.
There is a bar in the hotel which serves in proper glasses with comfy seating and during the day a selection of alcoholic cocktails to help yourself to.
You also can get bottles of water from the bars too.
There is a kids hour which entails dances with parents being encouraged to join in.
All the staff seem to help around the hotel be it serving in the restaurants, setting out chairs etc.
There was never a shortage of sunbeds and none of the reserving a sunbed with a towel.
They have their own private beach which is you turn right out of the hotel then head down to the beach and the its approx 200 yards to the right.
The rooms are large and airey with a balcony with seating, a large walk in shower and comfy beds. The air con worked a treat and my room was cleaned everyday.
Cons:-
Yes there are a couple
If you venture out on your own especially being a solo female you do get hassled by men who because you are wearing a wristband for the hotel will say ah I am a chef at the hotel and then proceed to take you to some shops which i presume they are friends with and then leave you there at this point they try very very hard to sell you something you just have to be firm and stand your ground.
Yes my room had no shower head holder or plug in the sink but I managed.
I took a travel kettle with me so could have a coffee later in the evening, there is no fridge but i took individual milk portions with me.
The language spoken at the hotel is mostly french and arabic which it also seems are most of the guests.
All in all an enjoyable holiday relaxing if you want it to be or more energetic.
The staff are hard working a in general very pleasant.
OK, this is not a luxury hotel and I think all travellers would know this by the price they would pay. However it delivers a great value for money.
Nice reception area, we were greeted with a smile by a friendly lady at the reception (I don’t remember her name). Facilities are good, 2 decent size pools and a beautiful waterpark to entertain the kids. Small kids play area is available next to a small theatre used for mini disco and entertainment.
There is a good mix of nationalities, mainly Europeans. All guests are courteous and friendly.
Good quality food and very reasonable offer. Nothing too extravagant but it ticks all boxes. It could do with better labelling, as it’s not always easy to tell what’s available.
Rooms are very spacious, clean and comfortable beds. Bathrooms could do with a refurbishment, but it must be though for the tourism industry to recover after the 2 years of Covid.
Air conditioning wasn’t working when we got to the hotel on 31 May. Sofiene, the Hotel Manager, was very kind and explained that contractually AC starts from 15 June, but he was very kind and get it sorted for the entire hotel (not only my room). Tour operators should mention this key information.
A couple of constructive recommendations:
- Have better serving utensils
- Have a fire extinguisher visible and nearby when they do the fire show, good for the performers and for everyone (hopefully they won’t need to use it)
- The 2 night shows we have attended were over stretched, can be done faster
Now, last and not least, the staff are just brilliant. They work tirelessly to serve and look after their guests… they do their best using what’s available to them. I am sure a lot of training has gone into that. Special greetings to the man who does the afternoon pancake and to the rest of the team.
Very pleased with our 2 days at Zodiac, highly recommended.
The facilities were more than adequate with the bar area being adorned with two seater sofa's and chairs inline with a relaxed décor and open till 2300/11pm. The rooms were cleaned and made up daily, bar and social events held were fun and engaging.
And the food provided was well prepared and presented with breakfast, lunch and dinner on offer within the main restaurant although pastries, cakes and other snacks were available in the bar area.
I would highly recommend getting your excursion tours for example Quad Biking, Camel Caravan and Horse Riding etc through the Reps that visit the hotel each day.
Henna tattoo art is also offered as well as a spa with various treatments, and a shop with a few essentials as well as cigarettes, souvenirs etc :)
All in all I was very happy with my stay and would stay there again.
We would like to thank the family for continuing the good work initiated by their late father who created this enterprise.A man of great vision, whose initiative is now being competently carried out by his family. Our sincere thanks to them and all their staff for making our annual visit so enjoyable. Graham and Barbara.
Towels supplied in the rooms are very thin, probably been in use since the hotel first opened, at a guess! Room was spacious and clean.
Food was not to our taste. I survived on French stick cheese, salad and pizza the entire holiday. My friend had a piece of chicken still pink in the middle. Noticed that they seemed to be rationing portions . Only 3 chicken nuggets per person on the one occasion that they made an appearance. Chips are also served to a minimum. Again not a staple only saw them twice. Desserts are served up in the tiniest portions although you can have a range.
The 2 slot toaster is inadequate for a hotel of this size. There is a lot of chipped crockery, you have to search for a decent plate/mug.
Didn’t affect us, but there is no kids corner, I think if you have young children they would struggle to find something to eat.
The beer is reasonably good, the wine awful. You cannot get beer in the restaurant just wine and soft drinks.
All staff were friendly and attentive. So credit to them. Animation team also very good.
Pools are lovely and clean. The freshly made crepes at 3pm were a welcome treat.
Not a 4 star hotel, only 2 star at a push.
All in all we had a good time just mainly let down by the food.
And arrived late at night.
The staff seemed nice and friendly , we checked in and had to pay some kind of tax of 15 pound uk sterling at the reception, I wasn’t expecting that.
We were very hungry and They provided us with cold meals.
They gave us connecting family rooms
Spacious and big with balcony’s nice size.
We hired two fridges for the room about 10 pound each for the week.
I took my own travel kettle so I can I have tea in the room. (They don’t provide)
I didn’t find the room so clean the bathroom and toilet not so clean too.
The furniture old dated. There was only two sockets in the room and in weird places on the wall.
The evening it gets really loud with nearby hotels singing karaoke etc.
The safe was old fashioned with a key not digital and so is the room door keys.
You have to give deposit of 10 for safe key.
Overall the swimming pool area and hotel are clean.
The buffet food not so much quantity.
No chips or nuggets for the kids.
Breakfast was boring and very less food.
The beach is about 5 minutes walk and not so clean.
Overall we had a great relaxing holiday.
Once we got to our room, we were given 2 pillows and 2 towels between 4 of us. No coat hangers for the wardrobe and the bathroom had not been cleaned.
Both parties changed rooms in the morning however it was only after our 1st day that we realised they don’t cater for the English. Their daily activity programme is great, but they don’t speak to you in English or announce anything other than french.
The food is cold, boring and very much the same thing day after day. You have to race to save yourself a table as the french just push in And take over.
This is not a English friendly hotel. Their was no mini golf as advertised. You couldn’t use the indoor pool as it was closed and no gym .
This is our 5th visit to Tunisia and we will NOT be returning
