Lella Baya & Thalasso Hotel is renowned for its spacious and clean rooms, although guests suggest they could benefit from modernization. While the value could seem inconsistent due to the hotel shop's pricing, many find the hotel's services to be a good deal.
The majority of guests praise the staff's exceptional service, though some non-French speakers felt overlooked. The hotel's atmosphere is acknowledged for its unique charm despite some dim lighting, and while its amenities like the spa and pool are a highlight, there is room for better maintenance and service quality.

Detailed Reviews
We spent a month at the hotel in February this year and it is now going to be our second home.
The staff from cleaners, waiters, receeption, bar staff, chefs and entertainment team were amazing, so friendly and helpful throughout. We can't name everyone so will just say a big thankyou to all.
The rooms are huge and cleaned daily, the food is so diverse with many areas of the restaurant serving different specialities, the cakes were divine.
The holiday was so so relaxed and the welcome, well what can we say, we have already decided to return later in the year.

Just returned from a lovely holiday from the beautifully Lella Baya. Travelled as a 2 family group with ages ranging from 5 months to 77 years and the hotel catered well for all 8 of us. Visually the hotel is absolutely stunning, photos don't do it justice. We stayed 10 days and were still discovering little details on the last day. Outside is equally as good, plenty of places to sit in the sun by a beautiful pool. The food was very good, lots of choices, well presented and very tasty. The entertainment team work really hard and take time to chat (even if you don't partake of the activities)
However, I'm not able to give 5 stars for the following reasons. Saturday nights they do a 'gala' dinner. This is outside around the pool. Massive queues for everything, difficult to find anywhere to sit ( indoor seating is closed). Upset us as we were settled for the day round the pool, early afternoon, we had to pack up and move so that they could put tables out. There was no pre warning and very little explanation of why we had to move at the time (although it did become obvious after). For all of the faff and effort it really wasn't worth it. My recommendation would be to go out to eat on Saturday evenings!
The snack bar by the pool wasn't open at all, despite being advertised as open from the 1st of May. They did bring out snack type food around 3pm but that's a vast difference to getting a burger or something at lunchtime.
One of the barmen was incredibly ride to one of my sons. We're easy going people but we did call management about it as it was ridiculous. Shame as all of the other staff were outstanding.
All in all, we had an amazing time and would definitely go back to Lella Baya. It's worth paying extra for the sea view rooms, not just for the beautiful view, as it means you're away from potential noise from the lobby bar!

To start with, the hotel definitely does not offer a service of a 4 star hotel. Hence, in my opinion it should be either a 2 or 3 star hotel. Check in was alright but what came after simply catastrophic. I was given a room that was freezing cold, dirty and had an empty bathroom (Not even towels). I called reception a couple of time to hear the same talk stating that someone will bring everything soon. However, nothing really happened until I walked to the reception and showed them how unhappy I was. The room cleanliness did not get any better as it was rarely cleaned properly during my entire stay. Some staff members especially those working in reception were a bit rude and I heard the same comment from various people staying at the hotel. There are also other negative points to mention but if they start by cleaning their rooms then it would be a great start.
I definitely do not recommend this over rated hotel as it it not worth the money you pay for.

I was unfit to travel on this holiday, asked travel up to cancal my room but as a friends booking was also on this booking I could not do this. I spoke to my insurance company who advised just get a confirmation of no show from the hotel. I spent £20 trying to get this information, I spoke to reception asked for the name of the person I was speaking to who refused to give it to me, they confirmed my booking had not been used but would not email me confirmation of this said they only dealt with agents. Hotel has now closed, they did not send this information to the agent leaving me unable to claim on my insurance. You would think they would have been compassionate knowing I could not travel due to health and resolved this situation for me beating in mind I’ve used this hotel on many occasions, being a frequent visitor and loyalty means nothing to this hotel. Between this hotel, travel up and there agent I’ve been left out of pocket. So my advice steer clear from any of them

I don't advise you to stay in this hotel. We couldn't enjoy swimming because the swimming pool is very small and the sea is far away from the hotel. The services are awful: the servants in the buffet are unkind and brutal, the food is disgusting and the wifi connection is poor. We are very disappointed.

The hotel has one of a wanderfull historic architectural building. But that's all when you face the quality service of bar man service. We have had a staying with all inclusive meaning food and drinks. But when I went to bar to order a 12yrs Chivas Regal they said that I have to pay 26 TND or just have a free unknown wisky that taste like some cheap wisky distilled with water.
The room seems very nice at first glance but once again that's was all. The bedding smells like it wasn't been changed for a month and there was absolutely no internet at the rooms. The staff said if we want the net we should come down at the reception area. The problem is if you hang out on the living area there's constantly harassment from many staff's that try to sell you services like photography, hotels activities with no fixed prices based only on your negotiation capabilities. Otherwise saying scams. Resuming after one day of vacation at Lella Baya & Thalasso's Hotel we asked our travel agent for hotels changing.

Came for 10 days at the end of June and the hotel was lovely clean and bright.
Animation team was full of energy, welcoming and trying to get as many people engaged as possible. My partner doesn't dance they got him dancing in the day. It was tiring watching them at times with there energetic energy and always smiling as well as trying to get everything involved even with how hot it was they gave it their all.
Lifeguards were on the ball, friendly they were up for having a laught while watching the pool. They were very good with my pregnant daughter making sure she was safe and OK everyt8me when there way big groups in the pool.
Waiter's and bar staff were helpful and friendly they werevery attentive when you are eating or sitting in the evening.
Cleaners are always on the go and do such a good job but people forget about them

This was not what I was expecting. My first morning I had to ask 4 members of staff for water! The restaurant on that Friday morning was like a rugby match and was similar over the Christmas weekend. It did get better from the Monday when the hotel was quieter. The breakfast food was very geared for the European and local guests. Not a baked bean or rasher of bacon in site! Lunch and dinner was the same so i ate out. Not want you expect when booking all inclusive.
The room was basic and dull. The beds were ok though i did notice on my first night that there were stains on the linen. The towels were not the best and the toilet was not cleaned properly!
Outside the pool was freezing. I thought i was going to have a heart attack. It did take my breath away and for someone who has played rugby for over 40 years, this was saying something!
The inside pool was better but the floor was a death trap and you were really struggling to walk to get too and from the pool.
The entertainment staff were very very good and friendly though everything is in French. The music and the quizzes so very difficult for any none French speakers (me).
The bar staff in the evenings were excellent though to get a decent coffee before 4pm is a nightmare as nobody could be bothered to make them!
Finally, if you fancy a walk along the beach or to the marina, take a bodyguard as it really is not that friendly a place.
Would not recommend this to anyone and will not be back.

The rooms are dirty and squalid! Terrible dim lighting! The bed and towels are grey, the floor is washed only in the middle. The refrigerator is working, but the door won't close! The air conditioner did not work for heating! The lobby is very beautiful, but it's impossible to be there - everyone smokes inside and flicks the ashes on the floor! The room stinks of smoke in the evening! Music booms around the pool during the day, and in the evening in the lobby for the whole hotel. It's the same thing every day - first the hits of the 90s, and then something disgusting that causes a gag reflex. For some reason, the masseur is the only one and a man! I didn't dare go to him for a massage! The hydromassage does not work in the indoor pool! The restaurant is terrible - the same dishes. Sometimes they are not quite fresh. There are so many olive trees in the country, but we haven't seen olive oil in the restaurant. If you pay the waiters, they will serve you perfectly, and if not, they will forget to bring water and glasses. For the first few days, the guard opened the door to the promenade, and in recent days he stopped leaving his booth and did not even raise his head to say hello. And after that, they are surprised that there are fewer and fewer tourists! It was our worst vacation ever!
