Le Royal Hotels and Resorts - Hammamet is often praised for its cleanliness and well-kept facilities, with the exception of some dining area cleanliness concerns. While the hotel's range of pools and entertainment options are a hit, guests have experienced problems with in-room amenities. The service is generally regarded as friendly, especially the animators, although there are occasional lapses in room service. Its location is a highlight, being close to the beach and attractions. Opinions on value vary, as some guests appreciate the affordable luxury, while others are put off by extra charges and service shortfalls. The vibrant atmosphere is well-liked, though it can be noisy for some. Rooms are described as clean and spacious, yet some guests report issues with maintenance.

We arrived at the airport on the 16th Feb 2020, it was very peaceful, we had our temperature checked from a distance with a mobile camera, we got through immigration without a hitch. we came out of the airport looking for a taxi to take us to our hotel. Unfortunately some of the taxi drivers were unhelpful and inflated the prices. we knew it was inflated as we had previously done our research. fortunately one of the Drivers heard our discussion and offered to take us with the actual price that we researched. He was unhappy at the behaviour of his colleagues and apologised.
We arrived at Hotel Le Royal Hammamet and gave our driver a tip, he was very pleased. The hotel is Beautiful, well located and clean. Unfortunately there were few guest at the hotel as COVID -19 just started. The staff were very helpful whenever you need them, the food was delicious. As someone who appreciate food, the staff would always encourage us to taste the different dishes. The hotel has everything from beauty spa to swimming pools located around the hotels (Indoors and Outdoors). I would recommend it to anyone looking for a great time. I would also encourage travellers to explore Tunisia by taking the local buses and eating at the local restaurants. The Excursion trip wasn't great as it didn't meet our expectations. Tunisia is a safe and peaceful country and will visit again.

A friend recommended this hotel, we decided to try it. We contacted the hotel and booked directly. We were hesitant as it is a five star (not cheap) hotel.
By the end of the holiday we were so glad to have chosen this hotel. Staff are knowledgeable and friendly. Most of them speak English and French. Shops are not far at all. So is the nearby Marina (where you can hire bicycles).
This hotel seems to be well known by taxi drivers. So we had no trouble going off on Day trips and coming back by taxi. We left the hotel by the side gate, the attendant found taxis for us from the side road, we never waited too long. Taxi metered fares are unjustifiably cheap, we were aware of this issue hence we always gave tips. Apart from the airport transfer. We booked with hoppa and were very satisfied with their services and fares.
Breakfast and dinner were brilliant, plenty of fresh fruit and salads, variety of dishes, traditional north African dishes as well as international cuisine.
What is nice about this hotel, is that you can see the people working there are well looked after. Also I was impressed with the presence of women employees at the reception area, at the dinning area, at the gardens…etc.
Do not be surprised if the owner of the hotel (speaks excellent English) walks into the dinning area in order to greet you personally. Such is the individual attention we encountered in this hotel. Beautiful décor luxurious surroundings and a fine sandy beach. We had superior room overlooking the swimming pool. If you are an early sleeper or likes a quite room please state this when you book.
The hotel has a good size gym, as well as an indoor pool as well as four outdoor swimming pools. It also has its own fruit orchard and herb garden.
The Hotel receptionist Abdul Karim, booked us on a Sahara trip to the south of Tunisia, this was an excellent trip by coach with an overnight stay at a 4 star hotel. It exceeded our expectations.
I would like to thank Reem, who kept our room clean and tidy. We chose not to have our room cleaned every day, as it was not necessary. We also like to thank the very jolly Mohamed Ali who looked after us in the dining area and suggested day trips to us.
Will we be back, YES, without hesitation.

The hotel is luxurious in every way!
The soa is positively dreamy, the gym never too busy to give you the time you want.
The staff are friendly and nothing is too much for them to make you happy.
Its safe for children wot run around with a nightly entertainment program for them.
The gardens are tranquil and gorgeous, cascading down to a clean tranquil beach of crystal clear waters that is warm enough to swim in at this time of year when sunny.
The food was exceptional, with show-cooking available, and extensive buffet of european and Tunisian dishes, and the New Years Eve party menu was world class.

The hotel itself was very nice with clean and comfortable rooms. Balcony in room, wifi was fine and plenty of hot water. However, we experienced two big issues that greatly affected our opinion of this hotel. First, we were traveling with a group and arrived on a Saturday night. It was off season so the hotel was not all close to being filled so had plenty of rooms. There was a huge party of young adults in the lobby. They were playing very loud music and just being very loud in general. I didn't think anything of it as our room was very far away on an upper floor close to the end of the hallway. In the morning though, we heard from several other members of our group that they were given rooms that were located right off the lobby and that none of them could get a minute of sleep and they all had to go to the front desk and ask to be moved. Several people said that they were not treated very well and were only moved one or two rooms down the hall which, to anyone with half a brain, would not make any difference at all to the level of noise so they had to request again to be moved. This all took quite a bit of time and they did not get much sleep that night due to it taking so long.

The second BIG issue is that my husband and I chose to eat dinner at the buffet on our second night there. Thankfully, we had already made two trips to the buffet and were starting to feel as though we'd eaten enough. A local family came into the restaurant. They had 4 young children who were allowed to run absolutely wild throughout the restaurant while the parents looked on and did nothing. The worst part was that one of the children had an absolutely horrible sounding cough. He coughed continuously ... not just every once in a while, but absolutely non-stop. He was just tall enough so that his face was level with all the food on the buffet. While the restaurant manager and a waiter stood there and watched, this child was allowed to repeatedly walk by ALL the food stations, while facing them, and coughed and sneezed repeatedly all over everything. This happened multiple times and it was absolutely disgusting. The manager was even confronted by another person who was eating there who demanded that he do something about it and yet he did nothing and didn't say anything to the worthless parents. I can't stress enough how disgusting this was! This child literally was spewing spit and germs and all over the food! I feel very sorry for anyone who came in to eat after us. Needless to say, we did not make another trip to the buffet for dessert. Naturally, the next day, my husband started to come down with a bad cold. I have never seen anyone at a buffet so blatantly contaminating food like that. I realize it was a child but the fact that the parents did nothing and the staff saw what was happening and allowed it to continue really angers me. I would never recommend this hotel for this reason unless they replace their staff with people who actually care about hygiene and the health and safety of their guests.

Myself and my wife arrived in Oct 2023 at 10pm and on arriving we asked to be upgraded from half board to all inclusive which we would have paid the extra for. The receptionist stated that he would get this sorted by the morning and I thought excellent. We were down to the room and this was fine and clean with a balcony and a bottle of water in the fridge.
The following morning before attending for breakfast I spoke to the receptionist again ref what had been discussed the night before however due to this being a different staff member they were unaware of the request and stated they would get me a price and would be sorted.
The breakfast was fine and well buffet style and we made our way to the pool and after a period of time I returned to the reception and again they seemed or acted unaware of my requests. I wasn't quite sure what was occuring and we decided we shall leave it. The television in the room stopped working and we made mention of this to a cleaner/staff member and they indicated they would get someone to look at it. This didn't happen.
We attended the vending meal and we sat down with our food which there was a good variety of and cooked well. The waiter arrived and asked what we would like to drink and I stated a bottle of water and a cola. He walked away and then returned staying we had to pay. I told him this was fine and I was aware. As we continued our meal he returned stating the cost of the drinks to us as if to remind we had to pay. This all felt like somehow we had conned our way in and we're looking to defraud them for a sum of 14dinnas. We then left leaving the money on the table.
This wasn't a one off this occured for the nights that we were present. On one occasion I had got up of the table to get a sweet when I was approached from the rear and asked if I had paid.

We came to Tunisia as it is a Muslim country and as a Muslim when you have guests they are treated with respect love and there wellbeing is paramount a lot of time above your own.

At this hotel unfortunately we didn't feel that at all. We felt like imposters after the first day and I have to say it's rare I criticise an establishment as a "person" can have an off day however this seemed to be present throughout and left us with this feeling. The only time I felt like a guest was when I asked for the transport to leave the hotel and the third/forth receptionist duly told us he would sort this out and he did promptly with a smile. I think this says it all that they are most happiest and helpful when in the process of leaving.

All the above is so unfortunate as it really left us feeling a little sad as the location and hotel and amenities are good however the service and staff unfortunately do not match.

I spent a very relaxing weekend at Le Royale. The hotel is beautifully designed and decorated. The marble all around gives it a timeless luxury feel. I was very lucky to get a tour of the hotel's gardens and spent a great amount of time enjoying the outdoors. The spa is one of the largest in the region, I enjoyed a hammam and scrub and can't wait to come back for their upcoming water wellness track. The staff I encountered were very hospitable and made me feel home, a special shout to Mohamed at the front desk, Khalil and Sameh at the restaurant and Ibtisem and Faicel at the Spa. I can't wait to visit again.

I have mixed reviews on this hotel and I stayed for 6 nights with my family of 8 people.
The environment was very family friendly and the hotel deco was very exotic and beautiful especially the outside pool area and the garden pathways. There was 5 pools in total with one indoor which was really nice, as I went off season there wasn’t many people so it was pretty empty anyways. The breakfast buffet and dinner was really good as well and the waiters and the the service staff were very friendly and welcoming.

Moving to the negative points, we were shocked to find out that we had to pay for water at the hotel at dinner and in our rooms. We had to purchase water from the hotel bar or from the dining area for 6 Dirhams (around £2) every time and we’re note permitted to bring water from outside either. Considering this is a 5 start hotel, water is a necessity which should have been provided everyday free of charge. Also, there was no facilities for tea or coffee in our rooms or anywhere else through out the day, this also had to be purchased from the bar which was ridiculous! The worst part was that there was no Wi-Fi in our room at all, we had to go to the lobby to use the Wi-Fi and this was not convent at as I had to attend some remote work meetings and the lobby was not a suitable area for this. We informed the reception about this on the first day and they said their technician will come fix the issue, we reported to reception for 3 days and were informed the same thing and then ended up giving up. The bathroom facility in our rooms was also strange as there was a separate cubicle with a toilet but there was no bidet, considering it is a Muslim country this was expected. Further the sink in the toilet only had boiling water and the tap didn’t turn to the cooler side, the water was so hot that my little sister got a mild burn on her hand the first time she used it. We also reported this to the reception but they didn’t send anyone to fix the issue. Other issues included requesting bathroom slippers and extra blankets which took 2 days for the hotel to provide. One of the other major issues was the card to access our rooms didn’t work majority of the time, we kept having to go back to reception to get another card which was very inconvenient as our block was 10mins away from the reception building.

Overall we had a good time however, the hotel was not the same 5 star standard in other countries we visited such as Turkey and Morocco. If we were to go back to Tunisia then we would rather try another hotel than returning here.

I hope this detailed review helps other travellers decide.

Dear C314AEfatimab, Thank you for taking the time to provide us with your detailed feedback following your recent stay at our hotel. We appreciate your honest review and are pleased to hear that you found several aspects of your stay enjoyable. We're delighted that you appreciated the family-friendly environment and our hotel's beautiful and exotic decor, particularly the outside pool area and garden pathways. We take pride in creating a pleasant atmosphere for our guests to relax and enjoy. We are also glad to hear that you had positive experiences with our breakfast and dinner offerings, as well as our service staff. Our team strives to provide friendly and welcoming service to enhance our guests' dining experiences. However, we sincerely apologize for the inconveniences you encountered during your stay. Regarding the charges for bottled water, we apologize for any confusion. Typically, inclusions can vary based on room type and rate package, and we appreciate your feedback on this matter. We are genuinely sorry to hear about the issues with Wi-Fi in your room. Technical difficulties can be frustrating, and we regret that it was not resolved during your stay. This is certainly not the level of service we aim to provide, and we will investigate this further to prevent future occurrences. Your feedback on the bathroom facilities, including the lack of a bidet and the issue with the sink's water temperature, is important to us, and we will address these matters internally. We also apologize for the delay in providing bathroom slippers and extra blankets and for the inconvenience caused by the room key card issues. Your feedback will help us improve our services and communication in these areas. We truly value your feedback, as it provides us with valuable insights to enhance our guest experience. While we're glad you had a good overall time, we understand your preference to explore other options for your next visit to Tunisia. We hope you would consider staying with us again in the future, as we continually work to improve our services and facilities. Thank you for sharing your experiences with us, and we wish you safe and pleasant travels in your future adventures. Warm regards, Maher Mokaddem General Manager Le Royal Hammamet Hotel & Resort

I had recently such an amazing time with some friends at this hotel, the beautiful views of the hotel grounds and the sea from my bedroom balcony, the services are excellent and the brilliant friendly staff would do anything to help, the variety of the tasty dishes we had at breakfasts and diners, the cleanliness of the whole premises and the scented gardens, are beyond our expectations. There are 4 swimming pools, indoor swimming one and the massage parlour leave you spoilt for choice, let alone the clean sandy beach that extends for miles. There are also varieties of shops and cafes in the vicinity if you require anything extra. We were also well looked after by the Man himself who’s generosity and kindness were wonderful. This hotel is highly recommended and I wish a great stay as we did.

Probably the worst hotel experience of my life. I accompanied my wife to a one week conference to the hotel from hell. The poolside music began blaring around 10:30 or 11:00 am and continued throughout the day until about 4 or 5pm. If you love techno/rave music this is your hotel. The music began again around 8pm and continued until 11 or 12 pm. We had to demand (and got) a second room on the backside of the hotel just to use for sleeping. Even during the day the music prevented us from taking a nap, watching TV or simply reading quitely in our 2 room suite.

The food was acceptable but menu choices were often not available. One could not tell from one day to the next what might be on or off the menu or what might be delivered to your table no matter what you ordered The place overall seemed tired and in need of maintenance. The air conditioning was barely cooling our suite. The shower was a danger in that the hot/cold mix would often become scalding hot without notice.

We stayed here for a week at the end of January. The hotel was very quiet being out of season but the welcome and service we received was truly excellent throughout . It certainly lived up to its 5 star rating. From the moment we first set foot in one of the most opulent and attractive entrance foyers in my long experience of hotels we knew we were in for a wonderful week and so it proved. Without exception the staff were helpful, friendly and by the end of the week we almost felt a friend of the family. All the facilities were well maintained and staffed, and being winter we particularly liked the indoor pool. The food was good, if a bit predictable, but we had some very good evenings, including an exceptional experience in the a la carte restaurant and some charming staff serving throughout the week. The animators were a very cheerful, friendly bunch despite a lack of guests but they were very helpful with advice. The bar staff helped us navigate the drinks menu , and with their help we discovered an excellent Tunisian brandy which was so good we purchased two bottles in duty free on the way home.
We rarely write reviews but this hotel deserves a lot of praise. We also rarely return to hotels we have stayed in before, but we cant wait to get back to this one.

Dear JV88, Thank you so much for taking the time to share your wonderful experience at Le Royal Hammamet. We are delighted to read about your faultless excellence stay, and it's truly heartening to know that our efforts in providing top-notch service have met your expectations. We're thrilled that you appreciated the opulence of our entrance foyer and that our staff, facilities, and services contributed to making your week truly enjoyable. Your kind words about our helpful and friendly staff, the well-maintained facilities, and the indoor pool during the winter season are greatly appreciated. It's fantastic to hear that you enjoyed the dining experience, with special mentions for the exceptional a la carte restaurant and the charming staff. We're also glad that our animators and bar staff added to the positive atmosphere of your stay. Your decision to return to our hotel in the future is the greatest compliment we could receive. We look forward to welcoming you back with the same level of excellence on your next visit. Warm regards, Maher Mokaddem General Manager Le Royal Hammamet
