It will be very crowded as it's the peak tourist season. The road to Lachung is a long drive from Gangtok and during peak season, there are more than 200-300 cars at any given point on the roads there, which are quite narrow... More
It will be very crowded as it's the peak tourist season. The road to Lachung is a long drive from Gangtok and during peak season, there are more than 200-300 cars at any given point on the roads there, which are quite narrow and not well maintained. So the time taken is long and the journey can be exhausting. But summer is beautiful in Lachung, with rhododendrons in full bloom and very colourful. I visited Sikkim in mid October, which was off season, so no traffic jams and wonderful colours of autumn....plus good hotel discounts
