#1 of 3 in Dapitan City
Dakak Park and Beach Resort is the closest place to paradise one could ever experience, with its beauty and serenity. Dakak started operating on 1988, was conveniently positioned in the southern part of the Philippines and surrounded by mountains in its west. Situated at Taguilon, Dapitan City, Zamboanga del Norte, Dakak tactfully eludes the typhoon belt, making it an ideal all-season destination for travelers. Dakak is the first five-star resort in Mindanao with "AAA" accreditation from the Department of Tourism, located along a private 750 meter white sand beach. From the original two (2) cottages, it has expanded into 64 cottages with 160 fully-furnished; 64 Bungalows; 98 Deluxe rooms; 2 Executive rooms; 16 Prime Deluxe rooms; 14 Beachfront rooms in native duplex type bungalows with capiz shell window panes; and three (3) Family Pavilions with 30 family rooms and one (1) Presidential Suite. Through the years, Dakak received various recognition locally and internationally among which are the Kalakbay Award for Resort on 1989 from the Philippine Department of Tourism; 16th International Award for Tourist, Hotel and Catering Industry on 1991 from the Trade Leaders Club and Editorial Office Madrid, Spain; a certificate of excellence by the Prestigious Resorts of the World on 1992; and has participated in the Dream Incentive Contest theme for the Philippines that has won the "Best Showcase 1997" in the Incentive Travel and Conventions, Meetings Asia (IT&CMA) last December 1997. Dakak Park and Beach Resort continuously strive to carry out its mission - "an abundance of recreational activities and entertainment, warm Filipino hospitality, and environment friendly ambiance."

This is my third visit to Dakak with the last visit over 15 years ago. The place seems the same except for improvements: more cottages, additional pool, new location for the front desk, and additional food outlet and function room. The service has improved and the food in the menu is delicious! The downside, limited internet access (available only in the front desk). It would have been great if the shuttle service uses solar power instead of gas powered.

If your are on a tight budget you don't have to pay its expensive accommodation. You can enjoy the beauty of the resort and the powdery white beach as a back-packer or day-tripper by paying its entrance fee for a day visit. You don't have to rent a car or a van in going to Dakak. You can take the regular air-conditioned coasters from the Dipolog integrated overland transport terminal in barrio Santa Isabel going to Dapitan. From the public market their are three-wheeled vehicles going to the resort and other beaches like Napo. Since the pool are for guests just take a bench fronting the beach and open your picnic bag for your lunch on the beach. There is a fish sanctuary few meters off the shore for you to snorkel. The resort has is aquatic sports center where you could rent a jet

When you're in Dipolog City, you should visit Dapitan City. When you're in Dapitan you should visit or at least stay overnight in Dakak. Its a complete package so far.. beach, swimming pool, gym, they have it. Chinese, Italian restaurant, bar, you'll have your options. Room is good, staff are good, its a very rewarding getaway..plus a free tour to Fantasy Land, good shows and presentations, I'm proud to recommend Dakak!

We were in Dakak from July 25 up until July 27, my uncle booked a package for our family ( we were about 20-25 people). We had set breakfast and dinner. Somehow, they seem to rush us with food when we had dinner, which meant part of our tables would be full. Otherwise the food was ok. ' We had the Family pavillion ( I think thats what it's called) room, because we were many. The beds were good, and the AC worked well! Our complaints though are the showers. Somehow water would come out of from the tiles on the wall or from places you wouldn't expect. at one point it was difficult to turn off the water as. If they fixed the showers, so that they were proper and wouldn't be wasting water, the rooms would be much better. On our last day there, we brought our luggages at the
