Dakak Park and Beach Resort is the closest place to paradise one could ever experience, with its beauty and serenity. Dakak started operating on 1988, was conveniently positioned in the southern part of the Philippines and surrounded by mountains in its west. Situated at Taguilon, Dapitan City, Zamboanga del Norte, Dakak tactfully eludes the typhoon belt, making it an ideal all-season destination for travelers. Dakak is the first five-star resort in Mindanao with "AAA" accreditation from the Department of Tourism, located along a private 750 meter white sand beach. From the original two (2) cottages, it has expanded into 64 cottages with 160 fully-furnished; 64 Bungalows; 98 Deluxe rooms; 2 Executive rooms; 16 Prime Deluxe rooms; 14 Beachfront rooms in native duplex type bungalows with capiz shell window panes; and three (3) Family Pavilions with 30 family rooms and one (1) Presidential Suite. Through the years, Dakak received various recognition locally and internationally among which are the Kalakbay Award for Resort on 1989 from the Philippine Department of Tourism; 16th International Award for Tourist, Hotel and Catering Industry on 1991 from the Trade Leaders Club and Editorial Office Madrid, Spain; a certificate of excellence by the Prestigious Resorts of the World on 1992; and has participated in the Dream Incentive Contest theme for the Philippines that has won the "Best Showcase 1997" in the Incentive Travel and Conventions, Meetings Asia (IT&CMA) last December 1997. Dakak Park and Beach Resort continuously strive to carry out its mission - "an abundance of recreational activities and entertainment, warm Filipino hospitality, and environment friendly ambiance."

Detailed Reviews
The service is very bad! No welcome services! The bed and pillows were not comfortable at all. The towels are so thin it looks like a rug! The towels look very dirty. My goodness! there was only one person in your front office and took so long for my check-in. I was expecting so much from your resort! This review is coming from a manager that works in a 4 star hotel in Chicago. I just came from bawbawon island and it was perfect!

With family of 20+ for 2 nights stay at 1799 per night, exclusive of transpo SULIT!!!
The staff was polite & accommdoating enough.
Reception was fast enough.
We enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere and had so much fun at the beach, sliding at the pool, banana boat, & jetski.
The Tuktuk available made moving up to our room and down to the beach easy.
Breakfast was good enough overall. We liked it that among others, there's fish served.
Regular meals were quite expensive but for convenience maybe good enough for a group of 5.
Booking, I'd say, was quite strict.
Full Payment must be made within two days.
Overall, it is still worthwhile to go back.

Villa Angelina was a dream in a dream. It's sights and scenes were something you find in movies and magazines. If you think I'm exaggerating picture this: a sunset where the horizon bursts in amber as the last few minutes radiant light sets to meet the placid sea, boundless and awe-inspiring; a shoreline that would make any beach lover fall in love, and finally a world-class landscape where even international resorts pale in comparison. Its cliffside casitas were just...astonishing.
I could go on all day praising how incredible the place was but instead, I'll leave you with this, if your looking for a place to unwind, relax, and enjoy look no further than Villa Angelina. Allow the place to rejuvenate your tired mind, your aching body, and your weary heart, because in Villa Angelina BREATHTAKING JUST DOESN'T CUT IT!

The place is nice and relaxing but NO wifi in the rooms! At this day and age, wifi is life. Gone are the days when we read magazines or newspapers for relaxation. Everything is now in the internet! So, it's a bit surprising for a luxurious resort to have NO wifi. This is a major turn off.
Another major turn off is the power of water in the shower. It is so weak that seems like only trickles. How can you enjoy showering with that?!
So, the place is too pricey with this kind of quality. Hence, rated it POOR.

This place was a much needed retreat and we very much enjoyed our stay! We first stayed 10 years ago and we were not disappointed on our return visit. Great secluded beach, white sand, great service and amazing food! They continue to make improvements and upgrades. We were always greeted with smiles and service was always good. Rooms were clean and very comfortable with all that we needed. I has to use the wi-fi for work and yes, it isn't very strong in the rooms possibly because of the cement walls, but good signal on the outside sitting area and at the Bamboo Cafe where I could sit and have coffee while online.
Our daughters did Discover Scuba, which I would highly recommend! We also did the zip line which had amazing views! I can't say enough about this place. Great memories were made 10 years ago and more Great memories were made this trip!
I see mixed reviews and I would say, yes do your research and know that if you look for defects you will always find something to complain about. No place is perfect, but Dakak is the best place in the area and ranks very high on my list of places I can't wait to get back to. Looking forward to visiting when that ocean walk bar is finished! Kudos to your mananagement and great staff!

A Hidden Gem of the south. Every time I went for vacation I would never miss going to Dakak with my Family. My Nephew and Nieces enjoyed Horseback riding, Jet Skiing, and the zipline was amazing. The staff were very accommodating. Food was great! I would highly recommend this place to everyone and love to come back here again soon.

1) The breakfast buffet was good enough.
2) Internet was very bad. Rely on your own internet.
3) Smart signal was almost non-existent. You need to bring Globe internet.
4) No tea in the room, only coffee.
5) Swimming pool was a bit on the dark side at night. Recommend that it be lighted more during operating hours. It was not that inviting to swim at night as the swimming pool was very dark. Also, it was not that clear who was the life guard. I was not sure if he was a guest or he was the lifeguard since it was pretty dark.

I always go Dakak because price are reasonable, nice and kind staff, breakfast buffet in s awesome, and everything your need for water sports or zip line is here and it’s very safe! Thank you all the worker on Dakak! You are all awesome! Be sure to use the water with Dakak print, because that’s the free 1. Every thing in the fridge and water bottle, Dakak will charge.

Villa angelina dakak : Very nice place to visit..I totally love our vacation there..nice room, amazing view..but sad to say workers are not so hospitable..if u don’t call them they will not Come to u..We saw a lady working there who’s always driving the cart. we ask her 2 times to drive us to the beach front and answer us she can’t coz it’s low battery..how can it not be when she’s always driving around without passenger instead of stay in the area where easy for her to see the guest..

You can request them to make vegan meals for you.. there are a lot of fruits and vegetables and pasta. They have Japanese Chinese italian and Filipino cuisine. I am sure they can work something out for you.
Yes you can bring your own transpo.
