i would like to start my review by mentioning how warm and accommodating the owners/couple are. They see to it that their visitors are warmly received. The place is clean and comfy. It is overlooking the boulevard which makes the place more memorable. I highly recommend it!
The place itself really feels like a lovely home living up to its name, Home Sweet Home. I love the place so much and the staff, especially Mrs. Hamoy is the best host ever. She's very caring and accommodating. She's like our Mom. Outside, you can view the sea and feel the sea breeze. You should definitely stay and book here.
Home Sweet Home is a small guesthouse in the famous Sunset boulevard in Dapitan city. It is near different places of interest such as the landing site of Rizal, Gloria de Dapitan, Fantasyland, St. James cathedral and the city plaza. There is nothing fancy about the old house but what makes this place very special to me was the services they have given us. The owner, Mam Hilda, was very accommodating and live to what we call Filipino hospitality. She is hands-on with the services...from being the personal tour guide, driver, up to being the cook! So thoughtful! In addition, the beach across the guest house is the most swimmable area in the boulevard... So take a dip in the water as we did and just enjoy your moment in the lovely Dapitan city while watching the sunset at your own Home Sweet Home!…
Tita Hilda, the owner of the place is one of the most generous, accommodating and caring hosts I have ever met. She’s the one who picked us from the airport and tour us around the city. She’s not born in Dapitan but knows the history well. I liked how she told stories of Rizal and the city. Home Sweet Home, a family home (then and now) that offers a very affordable room rate (what’s more, they gave us P200 discount upon checkout). Their place is clean and cozy. It’s like visiting your parents’ or grandparents’ place. Each room is equipped with toilet and bath. Its location is perfect – near the Gloria Fantasyland, Rizal Shrine and eateries along the bay. You can also request for breakfast, just tell them ahead of time.
My partner and I stayed here for a day but it was a peaceful stay. The place seems to be a home before turned into an inn. The rooms and t&b were clean. The owner, Mrs. Hamoy, was genuinely caring that she always check us how we are doing. If you intend to go to Gloria's Fantasyland, this place is just a few walks away.
Home sweet home by the bay manage to keep us in a comforting place. The people gave us their hospitality that cemented my memory with that place. Home sweet Home will give you the hospitality you need and most importantly your family needs.
My husband have been to a number of places and have experienced different accommodations. Among all the accommodations where we stayed, Home Sweet Home topped them all. The pension house name Home Sweet Home is not for show but a real experience when you stay there. It is like going home to your ancestral home or staying at your parents house. In the duration of our stay, my husband and I never felt that we were strangers in a new place. The owners Mr.Tad Hamoy and Mrs. Linda Hamoy warmly welcomed us in their home. What made Home Sweet Home unique is the personal touch of Mrs. Hamoy towards her guests. She knows how to make her guests feel at ease and rested in her house. Home Sweet Home by the bay have 4 guest rooms with toilet and bath which has hot and cold shower. The blue room where we slept has a queen sized bed where we slept comfortably. Towels and bath soaps are provided. There is a cable television in the bedroom and a free wi - fi. Meals are served upon request. The location of Home Sweet Home is also advantageous it is a walking distance to Gloria de Dapitan and 3 minutes away to the historical landing site of Dr. Jose Rizal. It is only 10 minutes tricycle ride going to Rizal shrine and 30 minutes away going to Dakak park and beach resort. Home Sweet Home by the Bay is highly commendable. I salute you Mrs. Hilda Hamoy for making our stay memorable. God bless you...…
Our taekwondo trip brought us to Zamboanga del Norte for the 2011 Palarong Pambansa . So, we had to look for hotels, inns, pension houses in Dapitan since this was the official venue. Unfortunately, all of the hotels were fully booked until we were able to research "Home Sweet Home". The name of their inn fits its description. It is a home far away from your home. It is the house of Mr. and Mrs. Hamoy which they opened and shared it to the public. The house has 5 rooms each assigned with a distinct color. We got the blue room with 2 queen size beds which can comfortably sleeps 4 people. In fact, the room is so big, 8 people can sleep properly in this room even if you add 2 more queen size beds. Their bathroom is also adequate although their hot water is not that scalding hot. Each room has its own cable television and they provide towels. Do not expect any frills or additional amenities in their rooms. As I have said, it is a house. Their price is inclusive of breakfast which they serve in their lanai. They have a good location since it is just a 2 minute tricycle ride from RMI which was the school headquarters of the NCR Taekwondo Contingent and a walking distance from Gloria de Dapitan. Oh..and the beach is just in front of Home Sweet Home. All you have to do is cross Sunset Blvd., and you can enjoy Dapitan Bay. Dakak resort is only 20 minutes by vehicle and the Rizal Shrine is only 5 minutes from this place. It will take you 30 minutes to go to Dipolog City. Although, I admit, their price is quite high (P2,000 per night for 4 pax) as compared to other hotels, inns we have stayed during our Taekwondo Sojourn...but since it was the season of Palarong Pambansa, i guess..all of the inns in dapitan were at the same price..plus factor in this inn is that they serve breakfast unlike the other inns. But what sets this inn apart from the others is the hospitality of Ms Hamoy. My family sincerely extends our deep gratitude since she lent us her multicab pick up so that we could have a vehicle during our stay. The venue of our game was located at Katipunan Zamboanga del Norte which is a 1 hour ride from our inn. It saved us a substantial amount of money since renting a vehicle at that time was P1,000 to P2,000 pesos. Again, thank you Mam Hilda. Furthermore, she personally picked us up from the airport and she also brought us to the airport when it was time to go home. For that...2 thumbs up to Home Sweet Home. Her 2 maids are also accommodating and efficient. Take a bow, Home Sweet Home...A GOLD MEDAL TO YOU GUYS!!!! Again, another Gold Medal to my daughter in the Palarong Pambansa 2011. Congrats to Team NCR.…
