Award-winning and affordable boutique lodge a 35 minute drive from Nanyuki, Kenya set in the foothills of Mt Kenya. The farm is the home of the Lucy family, long-term residents and is famous for its personal service, stunning setting, fine horses, relaxed atmosphere and the family's personal collection of antiques accumulated from more than 30 years of travelling all over the world. In every room you will find indigenous textiles, beautiful antique furniture, Persian carpets and objects d’art. Many of our guests are repeat guests and many stay for longer periods of time.
I have fallen in love with Olepangi, now one of my favorite corners on earth! Peace, beauty, and harmony reside in this enchanting sanctuary at the foothills of Mount Kenya. Perfectly integrated with its magical surrounding environment, it is one of the most beautifully designed lodges I have set foot in. In its simple elegance, every corner is the stuff of magic. Outdoors, the lush gardens and infinity pool overlooking the soft hills are a delight to the eye and senses. On most days, you can spot wildlife grazing in the horizon. Indoors, the exquisite decor with ethnic pieces hailing from different parts of the world gives the whole place a unique vibe. But it’s the heart and soul of Olepangi that really stood out the most for me - it’s quite simply a special place. With its homey, intimate feel I found this farm a perfect place to unwind, connect and rejuvenate. The staff are kind, the veggies are freshly grown on the farm and Elizabeth and Kier are an absolute joy to be around. I will definitely be coming back to this place when I return to Kenya. The energy of the land around it is powerful and the healing pull of nature as well as the love that’s been put into the farm speak to the heart in so many ways. Thanks Elizabeth and Kier! …

I have been to Olepangi at least 10 times over the last 3 years! It has become my place of the heart. And I choose it amongst anything else on Kenya over and over. It is one of the most stunning properties I’ve ever stayed in. Each house and room is decorated with unique pieces of incredible taste, from all over the world. The outside gardens are covered in the most stunning flowers and plants. And it all over looks beautiful hills where elephants giraffes and zebras regularly gaze peacefully. You’ll wonder if you’ve landed in paradise. It is perfect for relaxing , with a newly built infinity pool or walks in the flower and food garden. You’ll feel instantly at peace. My daughter also adores it and it is full of kid friendly farm activities that will get all Mamas not thinking where their kids are every minute. From horse riding to bread baking to milking the cows and going on community walks. The food is also delicious and so healthy all freshly picked from the gardens and home made. Staff is so friendly and you always meet wonderful families and people. But the best of all are the owners of the farm Elizabeth and Kier. They can only be described as those “once in a lifetime encounters”. Amazing, warm and beautiful people who you can’t help but falling in love with! You can see the amount of love and care and detail they put into everything… but everything has a homy feel. It will make you want to come back. When I have international friends visiting Kenya I ALWAYS advise Olepangi as a destination. …

This was my fourth trip to Olepangi and with each visit the Farm just gets better. The easy pace, the spectacular views dotted with grazing animals, great walks or horseback riding around the farm and the rest of the property, and the delicious silence and star-filled sky at night.... for me, it's perfect pace for total rest and relaxation (tho I do enjoy the activities available). Elizabeth and Kier are gracious hosts and evenings with them and other guest, whether in the Party House or by the pool, always offer lively and laugh-filled conversation. It's a all a big slice of joy.

I have been going to Olepangi Farm since 2013 and am always amazed at the new and exciting things going on. There is something for everyone. The cottages are sweet, beds comfortable, and unique grass thatched roofed structure abound. The extensive gardens provide farm to table dining and fresh flowers. The jersey cows and goats provide milk for cheeses and yogurt. Elephants, giraffes, zebra, and so many other animals are grazing and tromping around on the opposite bank beyond the elephant fence. There are horses, donkey's, refreshing cocktails, great meals and awesome conversations to be had with people from all over the word. Most important though, is the warm welcome of the Kenyan locals both on and off the farm. Olepangi Farm is a great spot to connect with nature, old and new friends and has an amazing sense of place. What a great experience!…

It’s been a while since I enjoyed a holiday the way I enjoyed my stay at Olepangi. To begin with, the staff are INCREDIBLE-never have I experienced such care and concern from hotel staff the way I did at Olepangi. Special mention to Edwin the bartender and Jennifer the waitress-stellar service! The owner Elizabeth is a visionary. She’s also an amazing human being who makes it a point to get to know all her guests and to share the Olepangi story. This makes the experience personable and intimate. I stayed at the Markham and it was small and intimate, with a spectacular view. I went on lovely walks, which they organised and managed to spend an admirable amount of time being one with nature. I cannot recommend Olepangi enough! Pack your bags and go TODAY!

This property is unbelievably charming and unforgettable! When my friend and I arrived at Olepangi Farm, Edward greeted us with the biggest, warmest smile that I will never forget! For the reminder of our stay, Edward made sure we felt so well taken cared for and he treated us like family. George took us on farm tours and was incredibly knowledge and personable. Our cottage was impossibly adorable and cozy. The grounds are stunning and the FOOD was unforgettable! Kuddos to chef Martin for creating meals that I still daydream about! I can't wait to return!

Exceptional. My son got married at Olepangi Farm and Elizabeth and her team made sure all of the details were taken care of. From the beautifully kept grounds, large tastefully decorated rooms, world class views complete with visiting elephants, giraffes, zebras etc., and a staff as friendly, competent and helpful as you could find, Olepangi is just exquisite.
