Punta Riviera Beach Resort was so accommodating when we arrived at about 2 A.M. after a long drive into Bolinao. They really saved our "tail feathers" when our 1st booking choice was not as advertised. (Yes, that’s a veiled snarky comment referring to a “competitor resort”. Be forewarned.) However, it ended up being a blessing in disguise. The resort owners & staff are very courteous & friendly. (Shout out to Ian, his lovely wife, & the manager Jonathan!) Not to mention they are very knowledgeable about sights to see & activities to do in the area. The house band at their beachfront bar was awesome! The lead singers have quite a set of pipes & I loved their rendition of the song Bodyshot. There are many facilities and amenities on the property such as a pool, small billiards hall, a karaoke room, lookout areas to admire the nearby scenery.- just to name a few. (Also if you happen to be a smoker- while the rooms are nonsmoking- there are designated smoking areas in the communal areas.) However, these are all bonuses in comparison to the warm Filipino hospitality!
Thank you Punta Riviera for making our stay such a fun and pleasant one! Keep up the good work!

Good resort but the rooms are poorly maintained.
Good breakfast.
Bolinao sea is crystal clear.
Majestic view of the ocean especially the sunset.
Tap water is salty, maybe because of the recycling water. But drinking water is always available in the dining area.
Poor wifi connection.
Satisfied with the service and overall amenities so far.

Punta Riviera Resort is along the (white) beach, it's not private, but its clean also the river connected to it. But the water is very shallow, you need to go farther to reach the deeper part like about 300 meters far. Lots of seaweeds and small rocks, you have to wear proper swimming shoes to be able to walk to the deeper part (shoulder level). They have two clean swimming pools. Nice and clean surroundings with coconut trees. The prices of the rooms are too much for what its like though. The food, I think is not so good and too expensive, plus very small amount per serving. There is live music at night (a sequencer). Staffs are not grumpy and polite.

I was traveling with 3 of my good friends and we were excited for the trip. We researched a lot before our trip to both Bolinao and the Hundred Islands. We read reviews on tripadvisor and checked hotel ratings before embarking. We were excited to be staying in Punta Riviera because we read about its great reviews and saw its pictures. Boy were we disappointed.

Our room (La Marea) was very old and outdated. There were FLIES and BUGS around the room and the bathroom wasn't clean at all. Also, the water sprouting from the sink and shower was ORANGE- meaning that it wasn't clean at all. Moreover, the trash cans didn't even have plastic lining and did not open properly. Staff members at the resort weren't even in uniform so it was hard to distinguish between staff and guests. The restaurant takes 1.5 hours to prepare a simple meal that is way overpriced. When asked for towels, towels were not even matching in color. The resort is really not cleaned properly. Also, the resort claims to have wifi but really there is none present on the grounds. The staff is unwelcoming and tries to charge you for almost everything - bringing food/soft drinks/alcohol into the resort.

The hotel's saving graces would be its mediocre pool and its view of the river meeting the sea. But the pool was even dirty.

For what I paid, this hotel is not worth the price at all. I would think that it is worth half of what it charges. Beware. This hotel truly sucked. I would never, ever return. Stay at your own risk.

Dear Guest. Please provide the name of the person named in your booking, your actual arrival actual date and your room number. Our apologies if this review is real however there are several inaccuracies evident to us. For example our taps do not run orange! Our pool is cleaned twice daily in the busy season, but occasionally gets coconut flowers, not dirt!

Stayed for 2nights last April 22-24, 2017. Travel time is around 5-6 gruelling hours.

If there's such thing as no star rating i would give it to this resort. I've stayed in different resort in this country and by far hands down this is the worst resort ever. Let me enumerate.

STAFF
Not Very Pleasant and not accomodating they want us to leave the Reception area because accdg to them we are too many. They should be Happy because guests Are coming in to visit their resort what a bunch of morons.

ROOMS
SO Filthy! Bathrooms have a very unpleasant smell. Smells like cockroach and sewer. Mosquitoes are all around the place. ROom rate is rediculously expensive 36k for a night for 20pax everything here has a price tag even a bucket of ice.
Noisy noisy room and soooo dirty.
Amenities
Pool Is dirty. Fully laden with chlorine. You can smell the chlorine from afar. Beach area is littered and murky. You can't even take a dip because it seems to be low tide all the time, weird. The river they're bragging about is like a stagnant water for mosquito breeding.

FOOD is terrible and expensive.

I have noything good to say about this resort. Except to stay away and go somewhere else.

We were staying at another resort and while walking around we decided to dine at this resort.
Looking over the menu we decided on Beef Hamburger. While waiting for 30minutes to our surprise the plate only had a salad and 2 beef patties (small and thin). We asked where are the buns and the waitress tells us if we wanted buns its extra charge. We asked for a manager and it was just some girl acting like one not understanding after 10minutes of trying to explain that on the menu it says juicy burger and not juicy patties. She just kept talking over us and not letting us have a word in. She was rude and no compassion at all for foreign customers. The staff were inexperience or "manager" were unknowledgeable about what is in the menu like the meaning of a hamburger or juicy burgers especially in a tourism industry. Going around Bolinao enjoying the good vibes from the people, I spoke to a couple locals and they were not shocked thats its happen often from overprice, rude management and hidden fees just made me not even give a half star for their staff and management..

Dear Sir/Madam We have a long string of returning guests coming from adjacent resorts for a very good reason. It sounds like you are the infamous guest who complained that the Hamburger was actually made of beef and not ham. For clarification - Hamburger is a name of a beef Burger that comes from the city Hamburg. So naturally it is made from beef. We thank you for your kind review however we note that it is not actually a review of your stay with us. Also there is no False Advertising - just your misunderstanding of the menu.

My whole family was very excited in going to this summer trip. We googled the place and saw in the pictures that the view was breath taking. When we got to the resort after 5 hours of travel, the first problem we encountered is that 3 rooms we booked have a hot air conditioning. We told the manager about it and we asked if we can trade for a room that has an aircon that is functioning well since we have a toodler with us. Guess what, he didnt do something about it. He didnt even appease his guests. He cliamed that guests will the arriving the next day so he cant trade the rooms that we got. But we explored the vicinity and found out that there are still rooms that are not yet taken so far. So we just asked for an electric fan instead (which they gave after 6 follow ups!!). The other staffs are not that friendly as well. My sister overheard one staff speaking in Ilocano telling the other staff that our rooms as defintiely hot because the afternoon sun was right behind the rooms near the billiard hall. My sister (thankfully) understand a bit ilocano so she explained that instead of talking behind the guests back atleast they should settle the issue and do something about the customers complaint. The television also has a password that you need to ask (again) the front desk for the code. The CR/Shower room on room 37 is leaking so we always have to ask for a rug to clean the soaking wet floor plus in this room is the hottest (defective) aircon we experienced. They dont even have an intercom per room. So evertime you need something or need to ask something you need to go the the front desk. The rooms indeed needs A LOT OF IMPROVEMENT.
Also the food was not that good. To think the cost was very much expensive. The other reviews regarding breakfast are all so true.
Most of the staffs should undergo training regarding GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE AND SATISFACTION.
What was good in this place is the view, the 2 pools and the 30 minutes free kayak a day per room or the use of the billiards table.
We had a not so good experience in this resort and we are definitely NOT GOING BACK.

Their room rates are very high but the amenities OMG its terrible! We stayed their for overnight lang then we checked out immediately the following morning. We have a 1 year old baby with us so we need hot water for the feeding bottle etc etc the room has no telephone (room rate5,500!) so if you have request from the hotel you need to travel all the way to the reception area!! And another thing 5,500 rate no fridge!! With charge pa for extra pillows and extra hot water grabe ang kapal ng mukha nyo!!! I would never go back to this crappy resort na nagpapaka high end na hindi naman!! The complimentary breakfast OMG very terrible i was really dissapointed super kakarampot na scrambled egg isang small danggit and isang small hotdog plus kailangan mo pa makiusap for coffee refill grabe!!!! And then the jacuzzi why do you have to pay 700 for an hour para dun?! It should be FREE because your paying so much for the room na bulok!!

This is the only resort I know who has cooking facilities but charge you to cook there anyways...they charge P 1000 each time you want to cook so that's P 3000 just to cook 3 meals for a day!...so ...your only option would be to eat at their very expensive restaurant. It's a great resort but definitely not worth it if I have to pay that much just to cook food.

The place looks so ordinary.. we payed for almost 21k for 3 rooms.. the river was so dirty you wouldn't even dare to go kayaking though it's free naman for 30 minutes.

For example the river was flushed by the tides during this date, as well as by local rainwater so no vegetation was present.
