What the hotel lacks in luxury is more than made up for by the kind service of the owner who together with his staff ensures a warm and friendly welcome and stay. The evening meal was superb - fresh food cooked beautifully. Having handed in our passports on arrival, the owner noticed it was my birthday on the day and although he did not say anything about it, he later sent his nephew to our room with a bottle of Prosecco and two glasses for my husband and I to share a drink on the house. Although we are non- drinkers, the gesture was very kind and caring. The hotel is cheap and basic but has all you need and it is great if you are walking the Pilgrim route. It's location is superb with lovely views of the Tuscan Mountains at the Passo del Consuma and it is but a few hundred meters from the village of Consuma. Enjoy your stay.…
The wonderful owner and staff of this old hotel were so amazing! Nothing was too much trouble and the evening meal was superb! It’s cheap and basic, but it has everything you need, especially smiles and care! I can recommend this place if your hiking the pilgrim route, they’ll take good care of you here x
After a day of walking I was glad to arrive at the friendly reception of the hotel Miramonti. It is well situated just after the pass a few hundred meters outside the village of Consuma. The rooms are simply furnished, clean, but a bit aged. The shower in the bathroom unfortunately is an afterthought, pointing at the toilet seat. When I arrived in the afternoon it was still cold in the room, but luckily that changed later once the heating was turned on. Dinner at the hotel was simple and fine, as was the breakfast.
Once upon a time there was a good hotel perfectly located in the Tuscan mountains at Passo del Consuma. It was once, now it's only the shadow of what it was. It is dying out, it's been years since the last major repair. It might have been fine in the 70s, but now? The walls are paper-thin, the showers and the bathroom are simply the same. One sweet spot is the old man and his dog. It is something nostalgic. He is like an officer on a lost and long forgotten post keeping the place alive waiting for the relief troops which will never come. He knows it, but refuses to acknowledge it.
After a day walking it was good to stay in the hotel. Nice owner, very helpfull (speaks English and German ) and a good meal. A good place for the pelgrims from Florence to Assisi and easy to find IF you are in Passo della Consuma.
Hotel Miramonte is rather spartan, but we were greeted warmly when we arrived wet and cold by the proprietor offering hot drinks at the bar. My room was quite large, simply furnished and the ensuite was small and basic, but serviceable. The walls were thin and conversation from the next room could be clearly heard. The evening meal in the dining area near the bar was also simple but wholesome fare, but we could have done without the TV playing the soccer for the benefit of a couple of locals. This place will be popular with walkers, as we are.
We spent two nights in this hotel. We had a problem with our car (classic alfa romeo) close to hotel. The owner of hotel was very kind, and right oldschool man. He lift our car to hotels parking place and gave us all I needed to fix problem. He cooked specially to us, and was also very helpful with wine selection:) Big thanks once more, Luciano!
