A chance to chill in lovely, comfortable surroundings. Lots of quirks which made us smile - we will visit again! Super food, lovely staff and a very spacious and comfortable room, added to the lovely ambience of the great hall with a roaring fire - perfect!

Can highly recommend the Lands of Loyal which is a family run hotel if you want to get from it all to have a super relaxing time even if its only an overnight stay. Staff very friendly and nothing is too much trouble for them, you can even see they are actually smiling through their face masks. We had a pre-dinner drink relaxing on the settee around the open log fire while looking through the dinner menu. Dinner was superb as usual, we have never been disappointed. Had a great night sleep in a 4 poster bed which was very comfortable. We always look forward to the breakfast which gives the finishing touches to a fantastic stay. Thanks to all the staff at the Lands of Loyal, looking forward to seeing you all soon. Regards Peter J

My wife and I visited to celebrate my birthday and chose the place because it was only 40 minutes from home. Weather outside was wet and cold but the welcome was warm and genuine. We were guided to our room by a sociable young lady who told us all we needed to know about the hotel Covid protocols and left us in peace in a very pleasant room. When we went to the magnificent lounge area for a drink before ordering dinner we enjoyed good and personal service. Both the bottle of wine and meals we ordered were of a high order and served in a professional and relaxed manner. After eating, we returned to the lounge and its centrepiece open fire and spent a relaxing hour or so before going to bed. The room and bed were very comfortable and in keeping with the faded splendour of the hotel. My visit highlight was the breakfast experience where great quality Scottish breakfast was prepared to order. I feel this type of service beats the ubiquitous buffet style if an overnight stop is to be enjoyed. (I am afraid the buffet always reminds me of business trips and is not for a birthday treat.) Would I change anything? No not really! It was only for one night but I think we shall return soon.
