We spent a luxurious three nights at this gorgeous 5 star Guest House. The accommodation lived up to its 5 star rating without being intimidating and stuffy
The period building has been sympathetically, tastefully and decorated.

We choose Room 3 of their 6 rooms available that consisted of a spacious bedroom with a Queen sized bed, super comfortable mattress, pillows and luxurious bedding added to a great sleep.
There is a kettle with full tray of coffee, teas and bottled water available alongside the usual complimentary kits.

The ante room which complimented the suite with its great choice of colours was a cosy living space with settee, foot stool, leather armchair and large screen TV which made it a wonderful and relaxing stay .
The en-suite bathroom was spacious with spa bath/ shower and supplied with fresh large towels and luxurious and fragrant toiletries.

The gardens were beautiful and well kept by Graham which we we’re thankful off as it gave us a stunning view while dining in the spacious beautifully lit conservatory .
We were welcome to have a drink by the sunny spot beside the pond before dinner ,
which was superb. Then on our last evening we had bottle of wine while sitting in their pagoda watching the sun setting

Breakfast and Dinner plus the Wine on offer were exemplary. Menus choices changed every evening and Karen catered for my gluten free allergies for every dish.

The hosts, Graham and Karen were incredibly friendly, helpful and accommodating overall, as well as being very knowledgeable about places and attractions to visit (homemade map included). Which we happily made great use of. We saw stunning scenery of Scotland while driving to impressive waterfalls with great little lunch eateries suggested all the way.

On departure Graham offered us freshly cut rhubarb from their garden which we’ll make a tasty crumble from. A lovely family thoughtful touch to the end of our fantastic anniversary / staycation weekend in Scotland

Thank you both so much , we shall be back and recommending you’re hidden gem ❤️

We booked a couple of nights post lockdown isolation for some relaxation away from our own four walls. The guest house is located in the village of Alyth about 4 miles from Blairgowrie. It's a quiet village especially at this time but is a good, central location for exploring the North East of Scotland.
The guest house is located on the main road, directly after the church and opposite the Scotmid store. Parking is provided in the gravel courtyard accessed from the driveway just past the house.
We were welcomed by Graham who gave us the tour of the two guest lounges, the conservatory and the gorgeous landscaped gardens.
We were in room 4 which is a large room located at the front of the property. It has a dual aspect with secondary glazed, traditional sash windows to the front and a modern, double glazed window to the side with a view of the pond.
The bed was a large four-poster. There was a large wardrobe, dresser and two bedside tables. There was also a table and two chairs in the bay window.
The bathroom was very big with a spa bath, handheld shower, toilet and basin.
We ate dinner on our first night and it felt like we had our own butler as Graham waited on us. We sat by the pond with a G&T while perusing the wine list. The food was very good and the service was excellent. Although it doesn't have a bar, it does have a large selection of spirits, wine and locally brewed beer.
Breakfast was a bit different post lockdown as there was no buffet. There was still a large choice of cereals, yoghurt, homemade fruit compote, juices, etc followed by a good selection from the cooked menu. It really set us up for the day.
Graham was very helpful in recommending places to visit and always had a map to hand. Karen was very friendly too but obviously busy slaving in the kitchen.
We had a great time and will be back.

Tigh Na Leigh is a beautiful guest house situated in the quaint town of Alyth. With so much to see and do in the area we wish we could have stayed longer!

The website was full of information and booking directly with Graham the owner was very straight forward.

The guest house was easy to find with ample space on the premises or for on street parking. On arrival Graham was prompt to meet us as he and his wife Karen live in the building adjacent to TNL. He gave us a tour of the premises and showed us a couple of the rooms which weren’t in use at the time. It was brilliant to see what they had to offer and the furnishings were all exquisite. I particularly loved the flamingo lamps in the main sitting room and the bookshelf in the nook on the walk up to the attic room.

We chose to stay in room 4 with the 4 poster bed, seating area and spa bath. The room was very tastefully decorated with views of the main street and also the idyllic garden with pond and the church next door in sight. Being on the high street we weren’t bothered at all by noise and the room was comfortable and tranquil. The large bed was comfy and warm and I was delighted to make use of the relaxing bath.

Karen and Graham would usually provide an evening meal but weren’t able to on this occasion but we enjoyed a lovely dinner at The Losset Inn nearby where Graham booked us a fireside table in advance.

After a peaceful night’s sleep we indulged in a large breakfast in the sun room overlooking the garden. With continental options including local produce as well as an ample menu. My husband and I both opted for French toast and bacon which was delicious. Karen is a gifted cook and we were well energised for the day of exploring.

Before setting off Graham provided us with great details and maps for some walks nearby and suggestions for popular attractions. We ventured to Cargill’s Leap in Blairgowrie, the stunning Reekie Linn waterfall and peel farm shop en route to Kirriemuir.

Our hosts managed to be attentive without being intrusive and welcomed us to use TNL as if it were our own.

During our stay in Alyth we also visited the Mersh bar at the Alyth hotel, took a walk along the river and popped to the large Coop nearby for some supplies we forgot to pack. Alyth has an array of cafes and shops to meet your needs.

We loved our stay at the unique Tigh Na Leigh and wish all hotels could provide such personal service. We have certainly been raving about this hidden gem to our friends and hope to visit again in the future.

I stayed at Tigh na Leigh for a few nights to allow me to visit family nearby during ban on household mixing, and can thoroughly recommend it. It was my second visit, and was still a lovely & relaxing experience despite covid restrictions. The room was very comfortable with lovely modern bathroom, good towels & toiletries, and spotlessly clean. Covid precautions include tables well-spaced in dining room (and thoroughly sanitised between guests) and carefully staggered times for meals, so it felt safe without being obtrusive. Graham is extremely helpful with suggestions for itineraries for days out, and I enjoyed Karen's cooking, including home-made breads, jams, soups & lovely desserts. Scrummy sausages at breakfast too! Definitely a place to come back to...

Karen and Graham are the loveliest of people and amazing hosts , welcoming, friendly, helpful, and so genuine with it. The guest house, and I also imagine their own home, is so beautiful, clean, incredible works of art and stunning decor, and furnishings and furniture , think more of a luxury boutique hotel than a b and b, which also makes the room prices incredible value for money. Karen's cooking is devine and as I write this review I am musing in how soon I can return! They have a wonderful selection of gins and wines, and it's such a relaxed space, they think of everything, they care about everything. The garden is beautiful and relaxing, and private . I loved my room and beautiful bed and cushions , the soap and shampoo products and aromas, and flowers from the garden in a vase, this truly is the most wonderful place and I love everything about it! Thank you so much for everything, see you as soon as I can get back !

From the moment we arrived we felt relaxed, Karen greeted us with a smile and has a wonderful welcoming manner. Karen explained COVID rules in a way that made you feel safe and at ease straight away. Our room was above and beyond what we expected from a guest house, the attention to detail, quality and thoughtful touches were exceptional. The room had the most comfortable super king size bed, so comfortable that my husband who normally wakes at 6am slept until 8am!! On our first morning of breakfast we met Graham, who's relaxed, gentle approach made us feel like part of the family. The choices for breakfast are utterly amazing, the quality of the produce is second to none. Graham casually asked what our plans were for the two nights we had booked, we didn't know the area and for the next two days Graham took the time to print of a local map and provide us with the most breathtaking places to visit, some that were so beautiful that made me especially feel quite emotional and honoured to have experienced these places; without Graham's guidance we would never have found these unique areas. We intended to stay two nights, however we loved Tigh Na Leigh so much that we asked if we could book another night, which we did and went onto explore new areas (provided by Graham). We would also give a special mention to Charlotte; Graham and Karen's daughter, she was always smiling and cheery and always wanted to know we were OK and if we needed anything. We don't feel we stayed at a guest house, we feel we stayed in a quality, relaxing, beautiful, homely high end hotel. We will definetly return.

I stayed at Tigh Na Leigh a few weeks ago for one night having booked last minute and I was definitely not disappointed; my boyfriend and I were very well looked after by Graham and he took the time and effort to make sure we were comfortable. He was naturally welcoming us on arrival, showed us around the guest house and then to our room.

The thought and care that went into the interiors and design of the communal areas and room we stayed in (the one with the four poster bed) is really special. It's unique, charming and full of character. I especially love the paintings and the quirky ornaments they picked up from around the globe! The bed was extremely comfortable (I slept like a log!) and overall, I didn't hear any noise in the corridors or outside the guest house. The bedroom and bathroom is bright, spacious and the view is great. The garden is attractive, especially sitting on the bench next to the pond which is tranquil and therapeutic.

The quality of the dinner and breakfast was brilliant. The vegetables were grown and picked from the garden and the meat was fresh. I asked for mayonnaise and Graham went out to the shop to get some whereas other places would say there's none left so that small gesture was greatly appreciated. We didn't wait very long for the food either and I felt a lot of thought went into the presentation of each individual dish.

I would strongly recommend staying at Tigh Na Leigh; it's the perfect place to go if you need to relax and you will be looked after extremely well by the hosts Graham and Karen. It's warm, welcoming and ticks all the boxes.

Thank you again and I look forward to coming back!

My walking buddy and I stayed here for two nights while walking the Cateran Trail.

As people can see from the number of reviews I've done, I've stayed in a great many guest houses and B&Bs around the UK and beyond since being on TA, and although many have been good and the general standard is improving, I think I can safely say that Tigh Na Leigh is the best so far by some considerable way.

In a lovely Victorian villa near the centre of Alyth, Karen and Graham have lovingly created a stunning set of rooms, all different, but all designed and realised with real skill and flair. Their daughter Charlotte showed us all the rooms and each of them was stunning. I couldn't fault mine in any way - it was modern and stylish, the bed was super-comfy, the bathroom was spotless and beautiful and all the facilities you could possibly want were to hand.

In addition to all that, there is a stunning garden which the owners are more than happy to allow guests to enjoy. We certainly enjoyed it as Karen served us a pre-dinner gin and tonic beside the pond, from a generous selection of gins. When we were there the weather was gorgeous, so the garden was a real bonus.

Breakfast is served in a lovely conservatory/sun room overlooking the garden. It too was excellent. There was a good choice of dishes in addition to the usual variations on the "full Scottish". We both opted, on both mornings, for the smashed avocado with poached eggs on sourdough, roast tomatoes (and bonus Feta!) which you don't often see on guest house menus. It was absolutely fabulous (to the extent that I had to take a photo!) as was Karen's home made preserves.

All in all this was an excellent stay in a top class guest house. Karen and Graham and Charlotte are superb, friendly and helpful hosts who really deserve this ambitious venture to b a success, which I have no doubt it will be.

Thanks and hope to back to see you before too long!

We stayed three nights at Tigh Na Leigh and hosts Graham and Karen were both lovely and very welcoming. The decor in our bedroom was as per the rest of this lovely house an absolute delight, spacious bright and very tastefully furnished, where the quality of bedding provided and cleanliness of bedrooms is without question 5 star.
The standard of food served at breakfast in the conservatory, with views over the beautiful garden, was excellent with Karen serving up both traditional and imaginative options using lots of their home grown produce , we will surely plan a return , re already have, a stay to sample Karens diner menu as I'm sure it is of the same high quality. Graham went out of his way to print out some maps and help plan our road trips, first east then north then south to tie in with our route home, which given the weather was a real bonus.
Karen and Graham just do it, this is how all quality priced guest houses should be run .

Very cosy, comfortable and homely place to stay. Beautifully decorated and furnished - the place was so clean and tidy. Dinner and drinks were beautiful and great value - we ate in the conservatory and admired the garden and its wildlife until dusk set in (we spotted some bats!). Karen & Graham were very kind and attentive during our stay, and helpful in guiding us where to explore in the surrounding area. Great value, would 100% recommend.
