Long travels and hectic schedule requires a good and relaxing place to stay. I have tried other places within Tuguegarao and so far, Holiday Plaza provides the best option. Its iconic artworks all over the lobby and hallways provides a chic ambiance. Not to mention its very reasonable cost rooms...Only areas for improvement are the breakfast and restroom facilities.....

Elevator not working. Luckily, we were given a room on the 2nd floor. Currently undergoing repainting. Rooms a bit dim especially no light on the dresser. Cabinets also need to be repaired. They gave free instant coffee but no electric kettle & glasses. Free slippers & hygiene kits. With personal refrigerator & safe to keep ypur valuables.
Good for an overnight stay but not for long term.

Room was nice. Complimentary Breakfast was rice, 2 eggs, choice of meat and tea or coffee. Complimentary drink at bar.
When checking in a male employee was on the front - did not greet or acknowledge and asked a female behind him to take care of me.

A group of us, 8 total chose to stay here for one night as we have to travel out of town to Tug to get supplies.
I will list pros and cons without getting to detailed.
Pros
-Location convenient for shopping and getting around to most places in the city.
-Max resto on ground floor is good enough for dinner and breakfast but they do not offer a western breakfast choice, only Filipino breakfast. In a hotel I would expect a wider variety for foreign guest..
-Rooms were clean and property seemed to be maintained to a filipino standard.
-Courteous staff and guard with ample parking.
CONS
- There is a disco on the bottom floor and even on the 2nd and 3rd floors the music will keep you up all night. We stayed there on a wed night so i would hate to stay during a weekend. No one warned us about the music.
-The rooms are very dim and not enough light. We had 4 rooms and none of them had windows.
- The one window in the hallway was half covered by a desk. With no windows in the rooms and a half window in the hallways the chance of surviving a fire in this building is close to zero.
- Cell service and wifi in rooms are are terrible. Close to none.
-Breakfast starts at 8. This is to late if you are traveling or need to be somewhere for a meeting, we walked to McDonalds instead.
- Guards allow street kids and beggars frequent your tables if sitting outside. It is annoying after a few times.
- Service for the resto if sitting outside is bad. Every time we needed something we would have to knock on window to get service. Sometimes they would just look at us and not even give it a thought while we are waving at them so we knock on window or have to go inside. After about the 5th time it was just laughable.
- The hotel/resto staff would be in parking lot on their scooters revving the engines (930 pm)and making it so loud you can not even hear across the table. The guards and other employees would just laugh.
- The shower in my room was very cold and the faucet head fell off so i took a cold shower with only a hose in the shower. Room 216

I will not be staying at this hotel again for the reasons mentioned above. For a young couple out for a night of partying it may be ok. but for people there on business who need sleep and/or need to get early start, its not for you.

The lobby looked nice but then everything went downhill...room wasn't nice. Very small desk in a dark corner very far from an electrical outlet. No counter in the bathroom for my toiletry bags. Then around 9 pm loud music started blaring. I called the front desk and they said they have a disco that runs until 1 am!!! They moved me to a quiet room on the other side, but there was only one room available so my colleague had to suffer with the noise and could not sleep until it stopped at 1. The wifi in the rooms didn't work either, had to go down to the lobby. Max's restaurant serves their breakfast but doesn't open until 7:30 and the service was so slow I was running late for my first meeting. And no table salt to go with my eggs! I checked out and moved to a different hotel.

Where to begin? Pick up from the airport was efficient. We checked in as part of a wedding party. The hotel is well situated in town near shops and the cathedral - an attraction for wedding parties.
There is reasonable car parking space.
The hotel looks well enough on arrival, with an attractive lobby and corridors. Unfortunately, this does not extend into the rooms which are dated and not well maintained. The lock to our door did not work and apparently could not be fixed. The lock to our bathroom did not work. The sheets on the bed were dirty. Hanging space in closets was too short for folded trousers, let alone wedding gowns. Toiletries were meagre to say the least (the thinnest bar of soap we have seen; enough shampoo for bald people only). The bathroom smelled of sewage. Billing was primitive (they appear not to have a billing system) and had to be checked thoroughly. One of our rooms had no window and a bathroom sink in miniature (to go with the soap I suppose). Rooms are dimly lit. The music from the bar is too loud in the evening. Reception staff are in need of training.
The food at Max’s restaurant at the hotel was OK but the service could be improved.
It is difficult to understand how this gets ranked #2 in Tuguegarao. Perhaps it’s just for those who love corridors and the walk to the cathedral.
The one bright spot in our stay was Alan who attended outside tables in the evening. He was courteous, friendly, prompt and helpful – but it was not enough to overcome the many faults of the place. We checked out early and went to another hotel.

Hotel room is quite big even for a standard room. There is also a free shuttle service service from and to airport. Customer service needs improvement. Overheard the staffs discussing about a booking of two guests in the same room. Also, the elevator is not working when we visited. Luckily, I'm staying at the 2nd floor. Lastly, the lobby smelled like toilet when I walked out in the morning. If you're just in the town for a short while like me, this place may be worth considering. But if for a vacation, I suggest you look somewhere else.

I booked this hotel at booking.com for P1800/night with breakfast included but when I checked in, the receptionist told me there’s additional charge as a commission of booking.com. So I end up paying P2016/night. The good thing about this hotel is it’s in the center of Tuguegarao City, so it’s very convenient and accessible to the mall, market, drugstore, restaurants and only 12 minute drive going to the airport. Plus this hotel offers free airport transportation.
The place is clean and the bed is comfortable. However,
The bad things in this hotel:
1. The WiFi is only available in the lobby. No WiFi in the room, and even you stay in the lobby to use the WiFi, it’s very slow, especially at night.
2. The elevator is so slow that it’s much faster to go up by stairs.
3. The room is very outdated. It seriously needs a renovation.
4. The sink in the bathroom is clogged. It takes a long time to drain.
5. The aircon is noisy. Needs to be serviced.
6. The lighting in the room is very dim.
7. The breakfast is not a buffet. The food they served was only tocilog, tapsilog and bangusilog with coffee or juice.
This hotel is not that bad compared to the other hotels in the area that are very dirty and plenty of insects but I can’t say it’s excellent because of it’s imperfections I mentioned above. Overall, it’s only good for short stay.

The hotel is situated in the city center thus making it easy to find places to eat and shop. Below the hotel is a famous Philippine restaurant, Max's. The facade of the hotel looks old as well as some of its facilities but the interior of the hotel is nice. Staff are nice and polite. Hotel needs to improve its maintenance of its facilities.
