This is a beautifully situated hotel with new rooms set in serene gardens bordering Lake Tissa. Incredibly peaceful and relaxing. What make the hotel a MUST STAY, though, is the exceptional level of service and customer care delivered by the hotel team. We were made to feel special from the moment we arrived until the moment we left. We came during the Covid-19 situation so it was very quiet. I get the sense it would still feel quiet even if it was full. Highly recommended.

The coconut garden hotel was one of the highlights of our Sri Lanka trip. You easily stay there for weeks if you could. We did stay for New Years Eve 2019 and had the most beautiful time. Superior service, very friendly staff, amazing apartment.

We had planned to stay 3 nights, we stayed 7. We enjoyed this very beautiful, comfortable and quiet resort, its swimming-pool and moreover its friendly owner and son as well as staff, Zorro and Nishan. We went for a safari to thé Yala National Parc with a young but experienced driver of thé hotel team. Also very friendly and doing his very best to make this safari a great experience for us ! We saw, thanks to the owner's advice, great landscapes in thé area and its tips to travel to Kataragama and other places were always precise and useful. At the end of our stay, he drove us himself to thé bus stand and made sure we had no difficulties to ride thé bus. This hotel is our TOP place in Sri Lanka. We have scarcely experienced such a friendly atmosphere among a team and will to satisfy guests. We highly recommend the Coconut Garden Hotel in Tissa and its restaurant in town, called RED. Close to Tissamaharama towm . Only 1km from road and close proximity to Tissa lake. There are newly built 4 cabana type houses. Each comprises two separate compartments. We were offered 206 , upstairs of 3rd one from restaurant. Very spacious room with one queen's bed and two single beds. Room had very good A/c and even at noon room temperature was around 23 - 24 C. This is extraordinary, generally climate is very warm in this part of country. As we entered the hotel they warmly welcomed with a fresh mango juice. It was very nice. While enjoying the welcome drink Gayan , caretaker re-checked our room to make sure everything is in order and after we finished with juice took us to room # 206. The first impression itself was very pleasing. There was a lovely view from the terrace. From your right you can see Tissa tank. Infront and back of the room is a banana plantation. Very nice and calming view. Room is equipped with Dialog TV, Ceiling fan, Good A/c , 4 bottles of water. Night/Emergency lamp, Mosquito repellent, An umbrella. Sparkling clean washroom with hot water, shampoo, body wash, soap , tissue rolls etc. They offer mouthwatering food and for our dinner they had about 6 choices for us to select as main course from fried rice, noodles, spaghetti, fish & chips and some other items. They had 3 types of soups to select, 4 types of desserts. For your bed tea you can request for tea, milk team , black coffee or milk coffee. For breakfast they arranged Sri Lankan food. String hoppers, Hoppers, Bread with Sambol, Fish curry, Dhal, Potato curry with fresh juice. Proprietor, Mr Banduthilake a friendly gentleman who always attentively for our requirements. It was a very pleasing experience. He told us stay late and enjoy pool and other facilities as our wish and there was no extra charge or any hidden charges. Thank you very much for your friendliness and generosity. Waiter , Rajitha was always there for us for our needs and so helpful. We met Mr Srinal too, son of the proprietor who is the owner of RED , a fine restaurant in Tissa city where you can enjoy tasty food at reasonable price. On our way to hotel we had our lunch at RED. All staff at coconut garden& RED are ready to make your visit a remarkable one. We are very thankful for them to make our visit a wonderful experience. My kids enjoyed every bit of our stay at hotel.
