Owner operated quirky house for people looking for something out of the ordinary. Gorgeous garden with great views especially from the huge conservatory. Unusual Asian/African feel bedrooms with no wardrobes, just pegs. A sense of fun is the theme and there is opportunity to meet and mingle with other guests.

As stated many times before, Rowena and Mike will ensure you have the perfect stay at The House. They are very attentive and genuinely interested in their guests. The House is quirky with many interesting items to find, and the games room looked great although we didn't get a chance to use. The rooms are beautifully decorated and the beds so very comfortable. There is a wide range of breakfast options, all delicious (but may mean you won't be rushing for lunch!). There's also ample parking. We left booking somewhere a bit late so everywhere around Bath was fully booked (and also silly priced). The House is great value and close enough to Bath - bus stops are just outside and takes 30 minutes (£4.50pp 1 way) or 20 minutes by taxi (~£20). We have no hesitation in recommending.

Maddie, the two of us have been wracking our brains to work out who you were but we couldn't work it out. It's been bugging me for ages and I keep going over your name, emails, and trying to pin point something that will give us a clue. But it doesn't make my thanks any less heart felt for going to the trouble of writing the lovely review. If you are reading this please put us out of our misery by giving me another clue...... Rowena

Terri, I should have replied to your review before your lovely daughter, Maddie's! How I didn't spot Maddie's being Maddie's I don't know but now at least I can thank her personally. And thank you also Terri for your lovely review. Sean, the photos are great as I said to you and perhaps by the time you visit Casey may be up in the clouds ferrying people around the world! I know you really mean it about coming back so I have that to look forward to. In the meantime have a great Christmas, Rowena

We booked up the House near Bath as the city centre hotels were full or far too pricey. We were pleasantly surprised. The House is full of character and charm. All the furnishings, decoration, crockery and glassware exquisite and selected with love. We had a choice of rooms, all different (but lovely in their own way). We selected our favourite room that was really spacious, 6 foot wide bed, feather duvet, quality bed linen. We had a minibar and lovely view over the countryside. Rowena and Mike are charming hosts that were so helpful and kind. The House has a lovely relaxed, lounge, snooker table, conservatory Bar area and acres of garden, which was lovely in a wild kind of way with mature trees and ponds. It was like being a house guest in a friend's lovely house. The breakfasts were exceptional with a lovely plate of Strawberries/blueberries/raspberry's, full English if you want, eggs Benedict, pastries, cheese, organic muesli. There was a lovely selection of Organic fruit juices (I loved the Carrot juice). Most of the produce they serve is local. It only took 20 minutes to drive in to Bath, and it was a lovely Oasis to return to after a busy days sightseeing. We will return and tell our friends. The House near Bath is as opposite as you can get from a corporate chain Hotel like Travelodge/Holiday Inn. Everything was charming, quirky, individual chosen with love and care and genuine hospitality. Thank you again Rowena and Mike (do not change a thing)!

Hi Sharon and Luciano You made it for me Sharon when you spent time choosing a room as I could tell you really did like them! And I think I told you that I had a feeling you would choose that room even though you gave nothing away when looking at them. I didn't get much chance to chat to you two during breakfast as everyone came down at once it seemed, on both days, so I was rushing around serving everyone. So when you said you would come back I was really pleased and if, and when, you do, I shall make sure I'm around to have a few drinks with you in the bar. Thank you for the lovely flowers which look stunning in the breakfast room, Rowena

We arrived tired on the Friday night and spent two days here relaxing. It was very enjoyable and the host Rowena and Mike very accommodating. The breakfast was delicious and sourced (mostly)locally. Everything about the place was well thought out with Love. Would defiantly recommend and return.

Hi David and Nicki I am so sorry it's taken me three months to reply to your very nice review. I wouldn't last a day on a farm would I if I did this all the time? There is a slim chance that we may be passing near you over the festive period and if we do we shall definitely knock on your door (if we find it!) for that cup of tea! We are spending Christmas Eve at Buckfast Abbey so that I can go to Midnight Mass and not worry about getting home late as they now have rooms on site. Then we'll head to Plymouth on Christmas Day then maybe Falmouth before going back to Plymouth for New Year's Eve in a small family owned and run restaurant, just Debbie and Peter, a bit like how we run The House - with no other staff!. But if we don't make it (our plans change frequently!) I hope you have a great Christmas and New Year and hope to see you both some time in the future. Rowena
