We celebrated my father’s 80th birthday with a Sunday lunch for 25 people. Family and friends had travelled mostly from Yorkshire, and couldn’t get over how amazing the venue was. It was perfect in every way; the atmosphere, food and drink, accommodation and service. There is nothing that anybody could fault. Thank you Headlam for providing such a memorable occasion.

What a find! My husband surprised me for my birthday. Didn’t he do well? We adored our stay. The hotel is lovely, the staff warm and welcoming. Everywhere was spotlessly clean and comfortable. It has a lovely atmosphere. Big thanks to the kitchen and restaurant team for accommodating my gluten and meat free requirements with confidence, without fuss and with delicious, tempting dishes. The spa is really attractive and friendly. My facial from Scarlett was great. I really enjoyed it and would have loved a longer treatment but when my husband booked a few weeks ago there was no availability - that obviously means they’re good! We will definitely return. The little goody bag for our journey home was a lovely touch too. Thank you to everyone who contributed to our weekend.

We went to Headlam Hall for the snugglers retreat for some r&r. The food was delicious and they catered for a vegan diet very well. Unfortunately I had the worst sleep of many years, which undid the positives. The noise when anyone else in the building ran water was incredibly loud and the room shook with the vibration. People coming in after the bar had shut running baths or going to the loo in the night kept waking us up. I usually sleep very soundly through most noise which gives an idea of how loud the noise was.

Lovely room - clean and luxurious. More coffee bags lease ! Only 1 bag between us! Very welcoming, wonderful grounds and great staff overall. Bar, restaurant and spa- thank you. Food good quality for me - varied menu. Had 2 treatments in spa- massage and facial. Both good but massage need to be less gentle and more, ‘what pressure would you like’ . (Hard always hard!). My only major criticism is children in the spa areas/pool. Not conducive to peace, quiet and tranquillity! I love children honestly but I came for relaxation not screeching and shouting (that’s on the parents) Thank you

We stayed here on the "Spa Snuggler" experience, this included accommodation, meals, spa access and discounted spa treatments. We were warmly welcomed and had a great experience in the spa, our room was lovely, the food choices were great for a set menu and overall we had a relaxing time and the whole experience was very memorable and enjoyable.

Had a superb Sunday lunch here. Everything was fantastic from start to finish. The food was delicious, I had the roast beef and it was perfectly cooked. All the veg was really good and proper Yorkshire puddings! Good selection of beers and we had a lovely bottle of Fleurie (or two) which was very reasonably priced. The staff all had a nice combination of being friendly and very professional. The place itself is stunning and has a lovely cosy atmosphere, including a pianist in one of the rooms which was a nice touch. Can’t recommend this place highly enough.

This is a must visit wonderful hotel with the most happiest staff ever. Myself and my wife have just spent three nights on an Autumn Gold offer. Wonderful value which included BB and evening meal. I must start by mentioning the food. It is truly amazing, we loved every meal. The chefs deserve a huge round of applause. Try the salmon starter, it’s sublime and then the monkfish, just delicious. Indeed we really did enjoy every meal, every night. Breakfast was also great and they were always careful of my sage allergy. We were both highly impressed. We had a junior suite, called Garth. It was great, very welcoming room which was warm and cozy. We slept well every night, although that may have been the gin and tonics!! In fact, we loved to relax in the bar by the fireplace each night before we turned in. The staff in the hotel were wonderful. Always smiling, it looked a wonderful place to work. We visited the spa and the golf shop, all again full of great people and offering wonderful facilities. Beautiful gardens and we spoke to a very happy gardener who showed us his big pumpkins. We do not have anything negative to report and we will definitely be visiting again. What a great place. Thank You.

This is a magical hotel with incredible food, service, warmth and stunning surroundings. I enjoyed a truly fantastic meal on a Sunday evening and must thank Robyn for a wonderful tour of some of the rooms to help decide my next stay at Headlam. The main lounge had a fire burning and provided a wonderfully relaxing atmosphere after a busy day. The food was first class along with the attention to detail and warm friendly team. Already looking forward to another stay!

We have stayed at Headlam Hall 3 times now. THIS PLACE IS SPECIAL. The attention to detail is like no other hotel I have stayed in. When I return, it's a feeling of warmth and comfort. One wet day, we spent time settled in the bar and the large grand lounge, eating sandwiches and drinking good coffee by the blazing open fire. Occasionally, someone with a dog would wander by, which I love to see, and the dog may settle before the fire. Bliss. "Hello lovely dog, what is your name? ". We had dogs for many years but no longer do. So when I go to a pub or hotel and can engage with one it makes my day. I should also mention the lovely rooms, great beds, fabulous restaurant and wonderful staff.
