Just outside the city of Worcester The Elms Hotel & Greenhouse Spa is making a statement on what it means to be a country house hotel for the 21st century. Honouring all that’s great about the English countryside (preserved, listed architecture, manicured lawns, acres of parkland, decadent traditions such as afternoon tea and cocktails), there’s nothing formulaic about this rural escape. Quirky design touches and surprising bonus features – such as the three-bedroom, six-person apartment-style Gladstone Suite – set the hotel apart. And each individually designed bedroom and suite in the Queen Anne mansion is nothing short of utter luxury facing views of the gardens and beyond to Teme Valley. Additional accommodations include the Hot Tub Garden rooms tucked away in the coach houses. Cosy and romantic, with direct access to the gardens, these rooms are the ideal choice for romancing couples and those who wish to bring the dog along. Take a little stroll behind the mansion to discover the self-contained, eco-conscious Greenhouse Spa where all manner of massages, body wraps, body scrubs, facials, and manicures take place, and healthy, light bites are served. But for something a little more indulgent, the mansion’s AA Rosette-awarded restaurant, The Herb Garden, presents a menu showcasing a modern interpretation of classic British dishes overseen by one of the UK’s most talented chefs, Adam Maddock. And more relaxed, rustic dining is available in the Badger Bar & Grill. Warning: expert pastry chefs create sweet treats you’ll be powerless to resist!

The title pretty much says it all. Little more to add. 100% happy. Nicely furnished, friendly welcome, super nice food, make a decent Bloody Mary…. That’s always a good start. I total up the bill. Is it expensive? Is it? No. No it’s not. You want nice, you want quality” you ha e to accept it comes at a price. You can always “buy cheaper”…. That’s life. However, I’ve spent far far more and revived far far less. Totally happy. Congrats to the whole team.

We’ve just returned from a one night stay at The Elms and it was absolutely wonderful. The hotel itself is lovely- beautiful bedroom with dressing room and the lounge downstairs was so cosy with an open fire. The staff were so pleasant and helpful, advising on food choices and drinks. Our evening meal was delicious as was breakfast and the spa is gorgeous with plenty of “experience” rooms and areas for relaxation. Highly recommend a stay here. I only wish we’d booked for longer!

Return trip for another girls weekend. The rooms are really well equipped, very comfortable, and loved the underfloor heating in the bathroom. The food was delicious (dinner and breakfast). All staff were excellent - friendly and super helpful. The Spa was great and they went the extra mile to make sure we were able to get all the treatments we wanted. All in all, a fabulous weekend and I'm looking forward to going again soon.

In July I booked an Afternoon tea for my wife's 80th birthday in November and was quoted at £25 a head. A week before I rang and confirmed the numbers of 11 ladies and requested they all be seated at one table, i also discused the sandwiches they would be having, I was then informed that the price had been increased to £28 a head. On arrival the group had been split on to two separate tables, after speaking to the staff they then rearranged the tables to sit them all together. The time booked was for 2:30pm the food did not arrive until nearly 3:30. Sandwiches were dry and not as was requested, everyday type cakes provided not the fancy cakes you would expect or shown on the Web. The tea was served in heavy thick China, and no tablecloths on any of the tables. In all for this type of establishment and the excessive price that was charged it was well below what would be expected. This ruined my wife's birthday she was so upset at what was provided, a complete disaster. For such a prestigious establishment and at the price they charged we expected far better.
