This was our favourite place that we stayed in the Philippines! So many good things...
The staff were so helpful, booking taxis for us and storing our bags while we went out to the tarsier sanctuary after checking out. The food at the restaurant was absolultely wonderful, we had the best dinners and breakfasts (the coconut souffle pancakes were the best breakfast I've had in a long time). Being able to book activities on the river through the front desk made life really easy too. The rooms were really well laid out, we had a first floor room with natural ventilation through the top of the room (with insect mesh) which meant the room stayed cool, and the balcony over the rice paddy was a beautiful view.

We booked two different rooms for the 2 nights we stayed (as that was all that was available) - a superior room and a deluxe room (paddy view). The deluxe paddy view room was spectacular and the view is amazing. The bathrooms in each of the rooms are outside so be prepared to encounter a few bugs/spiders. The hotel itself is wonderful, the food at the restaurant is delicious and caters very well for vegetarians! The hotel also offers tours, we took the firefly tour and we absolutely loved it.

We stayed in a superior cottage and it was very cozy and nice! Absolutely loved the outdoor bathroom with a ''waterfall'' shower. The bathroom has a high fence and a bit of roof so if it rains you won't get wet while outside. No one can see inside it either.
The bed is comfortable and it has a mosquito net around it. We barely saw any insects inside the room.

The staff at the resort were very kind and helpful. No matter what we asked they always had an answer and a solution, they were great! We also went on some tours that they arranged and their tour guides were also great! Some of the guides seemed young but the knowledge and information they already have was astonishing! Everyone also had almost perfect english so you could ask many questions and get answers to them.

The garden is beautiful, the river is just next to the resort and they arrange different programs you can join. You can freely swim in the river, lounge on the deck and jump to the river with a swing. This place is an absolute paradise. Could not imagine a better place for us.

The restaurant that is upstairs is the best in town! We tried other places but this was our absolute favourite. Not only is the staff quick, kind, helpful and funny, but the food is amazing with great flavour. One of us have allergies and the chefs could make the food so we both could eat.

We totally recommend this place for everyone! It is also child friendly.

I went on a trip to Bohol with friends and had one of my friends (who is Filipino) try to call and make a reservation for three people to paddle board on the Loboc River with this company. When making the reservation, she asked the worker on the phone if she should send the money (P4,950) to the number she had called, and the worker said yes. The worker also said my friend needed to send the money quickly to confirm the reservation and secure spots for paddle boarding, so she trusted her word and sent money via gcash to the number the worker told her to. The number showed as unregistered, but she sent it anyway, since it was what the woman had told her to do and she expressed a sense of urgency to confirm the reservation. Only after she sent the money did the worker then send different payment information, asking her to send the money to a different number. Apparently, the number she first gave was the account number of the owner. When she told the worker she had already sent it to the number she was initially told to send the money to, the worker contacted the owner about the problem/miscommunication and the owner refused to verify her gcash account in order to receive the P4,950 sent, and said we would need to send P4,950 again to a different number. There was no way we could get the first P4,950 we sent back, and the owner basically pocketed P4,950 for a service that was never provided. The mistake was on the part of the worker who gave the wrong payment information, and instead of taking responsibility for that mistake, the owner asked us shoulder the cost of the mistake and pay twice (while she maintained access to the money that was initially sent since all she had to do was verify her account with gcash). Throughout the process of trying to talk to the worker and get our money back or receive the service we paid for, we were first told the owner was in the US, and were later told the owner was in Europe. The story kept changing, and this business seemed both dishonest and unwilling to absorb the cost of their own mistake. In the end, we were denied our reservation and we chose to use a different company for paddle boarding and found one that cost only P600 per person for a total of P1800 (instead of the P4950 this company was charging).

We went to eat at the restaurant. We were not staying.

What happens when you get a hot beer in a restaurant? You say it, they apologize (even if they disagree) and change it, right?
Well, here I was told that since I had already drunk, I can't return the beer and they can't exchange it for another. That at most they offer me ice (ice to beer!!!!)
So nothing. After paying 1000 pesos for the food, they make me pay for the 100 of the beer I didn't drink. That speaks volumes and makes him distinguished from good service or not. Because it doesn't matter to them, and they leave a client happy.

Even though the food was delicious, I haven't enjoyed it because of that mishap.

You have to know how to treat the client.

This place is the most adorable place we've seen in all of the Philippines! The loboc river is right outside to go for a swim or paddle. Town is about a 15-20min walk away. The cottages are well cute. Ours was equipped with an outside shower and hammock at the patio. The staff went up and over to make our stay unforgettable, for which we can not thank them enough!
If you are not around to stay here, it is well worth dropping in for some of their overly-delicious meals, shakes or cocktails!

Excellent amenities. Warm and kind staff. We will definitely come back! Their paddle board package is a must try. Very serene experience wherein you will get a glimpse of local neighbourhoods whilst paddling through the peaceful and clear Loboc River.

It was in the middle of typhoon Dante when we went to Loboc. There were floods everywhere. But the owners of Fox & Firefly were so kind and accommodating that they even gave us a free cottage upgrade. They even gave us emergency lights and water just incase there will be power interruption. I would like to thank the owners for being so kind to us as well as the guards and the incharge at the resort. I will go back definitely.

Every detail was thought of and this place is excellent. You feel like you are getting 5 star facilities for much less. The rooms are very comfortable. The attached bathrooms are all built as open area and feel like you are in your own garden. The beds are comfortable. AC is not needed in January at least. The staff and restaurant are excellent. Stayed in both the twin room and suite room and both were great.

Where do I start with this wonderful place? From friendly, helpful owners and staff to an amazing location with the the banks of the Loboc river on one side and rice paddies on the other; This resort is so peaceful. With one of the best, healthiest menus I have seen in the Philippines, you will be spoiled with choices of what to eat.
The rooms are clean and very comfortable. We stayed in one overlooking the rice paddies and what a sight to wake up to in the morning. We also availed of the activities on offer going on a lovely SUP tour in the evening and a very challenging mountain bike tour the following morning.
We will certainly be returning to The Fox & the Firefly in the future. Oh, did I mention the food?

We were there in April and didn’t have any problem with them at all. Some of the rooms have a mosquito net but not all. We didn’t have one and didn’t get bitten once. Even when we went on the nighttime firefly tour on the river we didn’t get bitten.
