This is a total a Rip-off. Thw road to go there isn't accessible so we had to go by the boat . Well it's not the clients fault they are fixing it. And Take note each ride is 150 php per person. Imagine when you move many times per day? you'll spend a lot of money . I talked to one clients of the hotel she said she arrived very late and she has to take the boat and went begging for them to take her to the hotel and paid so much money for it. The room is poorly done to be honest. This resort could be a luxury one in the middle of nature if it could be given more effort and attention. I mean it's so easy to build a resort but with so music effort and details could have been better. Inside the room, it's very poor materials, walls are so thin, you can hear the other side of the room even when taking a dump ! That's how horrible it is. Beds, sheets and pillows are so old. They don't even have a real towel I swear, what they have is a fabric for cleaning. Toilet bowls have no flush button, no proper sink, nothing to put your toiletries inside the bathroom. The door of the room isn't strong enough, the locks are so small so you won't feel secured leaving your things for the day as it is in the middle of the jungle and anyone could come to ransack your room (worst case scenario ). It was a total horror as you have to climb 122 steps going their reception and restaurant. When we check out we asked for an official receipt, they could not even give us one and promise to send us in email. Nothing is working in this hotel. We're very sure that the staff are underpaid. No proper pathway going to the rooms, no big lights . we were in the mud and in the dark walking everyday. You need a flashlight at night or else it wouldn't be convenient at all.…
Hi ... Regarding about a Booking made on the 17th Dec 22 and to stay overnight on 21st Dec 22. I have attached a picture together with my father in-law leaning on a sign Nut Hut What we did - We travelled all the way to "NUT HUT" location.at about after 4pm. No one was around. What we saw at the entry of the Stone "Nut Hut" with very steep steps. I had my wife and her family side including my father and mother in-laws My father and mother in-law are in their senior years. Mother in-law has a bad knee and has a hard time walking up steps. There was no way would have walked up those very steep steps. My wife, together with my brother in-laws walk down those very seep steps to have a look at the place. What they saw was no lights on any of the place or anyone around. We were all very tired after driving around trying to find the place. We had to stop few times asking locals where the place is. Not only it was very disappointing to find a place that is in the wilderness, we had to find and search for a place where they can accommodate 8 Adults and 6 kids The place and picture on your sight is misleading. Ramil a very disappointed customer.…
We stayed here for 4 days before leaving Bohol and the place is wonderous. The hosts are very welcoming and warm and helped us with transportation and gave useful information from motorbike rent, to taxi back to Tagbilaran, to hike trails. Environment is just amazing and pretty, huge jungle hills, a river and lots of native wildlife can be found in the area. Huts are built from native materials, and preserved an authentic jungle-y vibe. The food is homemade, although after 4 days it started to get a bit boring and there were few things we would have done differently. Water was purified and seemed clean but did not taste that well. The biggest con for me was the verticality of this resort. The dining space and reception was at the top of a quite steep and tall hill, which, after a long and tiring day in heat, was really hard to climb, and if You forget a thing or two in Your hut - you have to climb the stairs again. Do not be surprised to meet huntsman spiders, that despite their imposing size avoid human contact and are actually keeping insects away from roaming Your hut. Overall, if you are not looking for city conveniences, are not afraid of cold showers, spiders and wildlife sounds at night, and love staying closer to nature during You stay, this place is definitely for You. P.S. check out the zipline ride that is just 15-20min walking distance from the resort - a must try experience for anyone without heart issues. …
I stayed with friends. We all shared the cabins 2 each. I had 1 single and 1 double bed in my cabin. I really like this place, it was different from any other place I had stayed ever. The best way by far to get to Nuts Huts is by boat from Loboc, it is a beautiful journey for 1 mile. They knew we were coming and gave us the keys on arrival by boat. After dropping the bags we had to go up the very long stairs to check in. I enjoyed the exercise of going up the never ending stairs, and it is such a beautiful location that it doesn't matter - it feels you are in the middle of the jungle! The road between the main road and Nuts Huts is awful, we used it when we hired scooters but I don't think a car would be able to go down there. It is about 15 minutes walk from the main road to Nuts Huts if you get dropped off. I had about 3 meals and loved everything I ordered. The food better and cheaper than what we got in a restaurant in Loboc village. This is a quiet place, no parties. The room was clean, there was some wood dust on my bed but that is understandable in that sort of rustic place. Nuts Huts definitely offers value for money.…
We had the best time ever staying at Nut Huts. We stayed for 4 nights and did not want to leave. All the staff were amazing, especially Lily who organised everything for us from kayaking to tours around the island. We will definitely be back in a few years!
Upon check in they inform you there's no internet by choice and the lodges are low waste, low energy but every drink is served with a straw and we had to request several times and explain why we wanted to to refill water bottles rather than buying more and more plastic bottles. Many other places only use bamboo straws and water is part of the price and plastic waste is minimized. I found this contradiction astounding since the entire island of Bohol does not recycle plastic. If they fix this it would be a great low-waste eco-lodge.
The restaurant is really cheap, with really quiet atmosphere. The food is good and great for famílies, couples or friends. They have a nice view over the river and it is lovely to read there. They also can help if you want to rent kayaks from that same spot. It is just a little far from the Road and there is no Wi-Fi, but if you are looking to chill and disconnect this is the Best spot.
We stayed at Nuts Huts (NH) for 3 nights while in Bohol. When approaching the location down the 800m track, far more off road than road!, we did wonder what would greet us at the end of the bumpy ride but weren’t disappointed by any means. The accommodation of a wooden hut and private shower room had all the basics required, electric, water and fixed mozzie nets but it was the location and service that made the visit so memorable. Ideally placed for trips to Loboc, the Chocolate Mountains, zip lining and the Tarsier sanctuary (Corella), all through using a hired Scooter arranged by NH as well using the kayaks onsite to go up and down the river, we did regret not having an extra day or 2 to explore more. The on-site restaurant provides great value, tasty, freshly prepared food throughout the day. Definitely worth a visit just to experience the location and ‘jungle’ setting, but be prepared for lots of steps!…
This hotel is a whole experience in itself. If you are a wimp, go on your way. However, if you like adventure and place off the beaten track, out of the ordinary: I totally recommend this place! The way to the hotel is difficult, small pathway with stairs of 280 steps to go to your room. You have to be brave, it’s worthy. The reception and the restaurant are in the middle of all these stairs. It gives you a beautiful point of view on the jungle and river. Best place to eat. The food is not the best I’ve eaten in my life but it’s tasty anyway (the yogurt on the morning 👌🏼). Just too bad you also have to pay for the breakfast, it should be included. By the way, the girls working here are nice and polite. Then you go down in the forest and here is the hotel. Different wood bungalows were standing here, surrounded by beautiful gardens and just next to the river. You follow a pathway and go to your own room. Ours was the big one on the middle. It was so cute, clean, and cozy. Okay I must admit it’s root, the confort is not premium, you hear people in the room next to you as if they were with you, the bathroom is very little with cold shower but you don’t go to this kind of place to find the best confort ever. It depends on what you are looking for. Concerning the location: it cannot be better. You can go for a swim just in front of your room, it’s really calm, perfect. The only flaw is that during the day, lots of floating boats are coming through the river and they have very loud music but it’s not horrible. From the hotel, you can directly go kayaking. Waterfalls are really near and it’s so pleasant to be on the river, without any noise. Then, you have a pathway in front of the hotel, just need to cross the river and it goes directly to Loboc. You can also do the skyline and go to see the reproduction of the fireflies at night, there are lots of activities to do near this place. …
We spent 3 night there. Cottages are fine, few meters from the river. It is bit hard to get there, the road is not so good, but we have seen worse during our stay. You can make it on the scooter, even in the couple. They can get you scooters for 500php a day. Biggest issue could be the stairs, really steep...the food is very good. But be carefull, they will try to offer you night boat trip on the river. Worst trip ever...crazy 2 hours with REALLY loud engine, for 500php per person! You cant see anything, just few fireflies, but for sure your head will explode...staff is nice, but this is like a robery... Anyway we enjoy our stay there. You should rent the kayaks and go to explore the river early in the morning, it was really good ;)
