Typically Swiss The quaint Swiss-Chalet Bed & Breakfast, a wooden house built in the 17th century in a typical Swiss farmhouse style, offers a special atmosphere. Low ceilings, a lot of wood and creaky beams are an experience which you otherwise find in the lofty heights of the mountains. We offer you free parking spaces at the large parking area on the opposite side of the street. The restaurant and bar are located in the same building. There we serve as well the breakfast from 06.30 – 10.00 o’clock. Check-in & Check out will be in the Schloss-Hotel which is in the street: Chappelmattweg 4, 6402 Merlischachen

The hotel is very cute and we were well received. Unfortunately we couldn't sleep very well as the bed was rather hard. And the Swiss Chalet was also very cute but unfortunately there wasn't really any vegetarian food and if there was meat it was mostly dishes I didn't know and it was too expensive for us. But highly recommended for meat eaters. We also came from the Smartbox and had to pay 10 francs for parking for one night, which I think is rather expensive.

We really liked the hotel. The room was very spacious and quiet and we slept long and restfully.
The lounge area with reading facilities, coffee and tea was a real oasis of well-being for us.
The breakfast was definitely not up to the same standard in terms of selection and service; we have experienced much better. In our case it was included, but the fact that they charge CHF 25.00 per person for it - if it is not included - is absolutely excessive.

The hotel and the room have retained the special charm that we have known for 36 years. There is nothing wrong with the room - the fact that the TV could be a bit bigger and a walk-in shower instead of a bathtub would certainly be more modern is something that guests can forgive. - The restaurant, on the other hand, is only a shadow of its former self compared to our previous experiences (wedding party, rose wedding party). A really poor menu, the quality of the food is middle-class average at best. You miss the old days (Filet boef Stefanie) and the former top service. - Unfortunately, it is no longer worth a trip... What a pity!

This is a quaint place in a lovely location and maybe it was because we had dogs (who were warmly welcomed) but we got a tiny room for 200CH which was not at all value for money. Add the 15CH/per dog and the price was really high. Unlike the ceiling in the room which was very low! No Dutchman could stand in this room. The people above us were moving around a lot at night (it was during the flooding so perhaps they were very anxious) so we could not sleep until about 2am as a result. Breakfast was included and service was good but for that price, I would stay somewhere else!

The Hotel is located in Merlischachen which is slightly far from the city and connected by a Railway station about 400-500 m away.
The location is beautiful with Mt Rigi clearly visible and Lake Lucerne just behind the Schloss hotel which is managed by the same people.
For check in and check out, we have to go to Schloss Hotel's lobby which is on the opposite side of the road.

The rooms are small with limited amenities. We booked a room with a private bathroom and it was big enough for one person to enter.
It gets noisy when someone walks upstairs but it is expected with the wooden rooms.

Overall we enjoyed our stay. The staff was lovely as expected in Switzerland.

A village where there are lots of works (it’s Swiss ) by the road
The Schloss-Hotel where we spent the night:
As they say; once but not twice... everything is old, no service
4 stars and the reception does not answer at night despite 4 phone calls!!
Certainly a room of 30 square meters extended by a terrace .. but lnecleurzge is deficient and very unpleasant . The old small fridge ( 1 free water and a coca) is shaky
No atmosphere , no leaflet in French no Trip Tip and more than 300 euros!! Shame
Breakfast is taken opposite in the Swiss Pension .. there is what it takes but not practical at all
Not to be renewed
Ps: the luzern card sent to you is useless because the village cannot enjoy it

North-facing room too dark and rather small. Parking fee not appropriate in the country. Various drinks in the minibar free of charge! Coffee and small snacks are available free of charge all day. Beautiful park by the lake with direct access.

We stayed at the Schloss Hotel for one night in February because we had a voucher for it. Unfortunately, the hotel is not at all a 4-star hotel for us. There is absolutely nothing to do in the hotel or the surrounding area. The breakfast buffet is not as shown in the picture. It is really poor and the quality is not 4-star. You also have to pay an additional parking fee of 10. We were really disappointed with this stay.

Superior lake room with romantic package, 1 night Fr. 476.-- for 2 persons. Room dark, furniture old (partially broken) carpet dirty under and in front of bed. Services not received by Package (Welcome drink / Piccolo bottle Prosecco) Enjoyable candlelight dinner ? Food on the busy Hautstrasse, 4-course menu with Wienerschnitzel, candle and plastic hearts on the table. Just terrible. Romance certainly does not occur in this house.
At least the service was very good.

Guys, yesterday, we had a night stop near Lucerne at Schloss Hotel and shared our lunch at Swiss Chalet restaurant with the whole family. Kids were happy with their “monstruous hamburgers“ with French fries. My wife and I started with the curry soup with prawns and went on with the “Rösti & Leberli“, a typical recette. We had a walk after that, to see those nearby very old Swiss Chalets and enjoyed a quiet night, just over the lake shore.
A unexpected nice experience and all in all, a very affordable package indeed.

If I can remember correctly It's about 30 mins away. We got the train which is frequent but expensive. The hotel will give directions to the nearest train station which is a short walk up a hill. Hope this answers your questions. Kind regards

Do we have free wi-fi?

The best I've experienced in all over my euro trip. And yes, sir, its free. I remembered uploading my pics to dropbox, there was about 200-ish pics with a single picture of 4MB. It only took me half an hour to upload all of it. Well, Swiss pretty much is the best internet speed country I've experienced so far. Btw, there is a free wifi, too, at big train stations. And yes, its fast.
