My friend and I had an absolutely amaizing stay at Punta Barone on the island of Salina. The island in itself is beautiful, but most of all our host really went above and beyond to make our stay just perfect. Our room had a view on the Stromboli volcano, that was erupting during the night releasing red sparks of fire; our host new all the tricks to move easily around the island and helped us arranging an unforgettable and inexpensive boat tour; she also helped in the renting of vespas; she was extremely flexible and allowed us to keep the room for many extra hours after the check out, to allow us to have a shower after our last afternoon on the islands; she made several calls to facilitate our departure with the ferry; but the thing I appreciated the most was here sincere attitude and great sense of hospitality towards her guests. I will end by saying that the hotel is in an AMAIZING position (close to the harbor, with a super nice beach just behind the corner, very close to the main town), it is very cleaned, and has beautiful terraces that are true view points. I don’t think you will find a better place where to stay…
Rooms were very clean and simply furnished. We had a verandah looking out to sea and it was sunny there for most of the day. Breakfast was lovely. The two ladies who run it- Angela and Viola- are a delight , and extremely helpful and kind . It was a lovely place to stay - five minutes from the island's centre. Lots of walks and a very good bus service to other parts of the island.Trattoria Cucinotte was a short walk away and did excellent food. With Angela arranging everything we were able to make a night trip to Stromboli. Highly recommended .
this is a homey little hotel with a lovely and friendly vibe. the rooms are very simple and clean. the view is the biggest feature of this place, overlooking Strombli volcano. It's location is very good as well, close to the main street of the island and the port.
It is even better than what you see, in their photos. Five stars.! It is simply wonderful with its different levels of patios, overlooking the sea and Stromboli’s volcano. The location is perfect. Stayed there for 3 nights. It is a 10 min walk from the ferry and you are a minute walk from the pedestrian street where you can find grocery stores and everything that you need for a picnic or eat at the hotel.
As mentioned, Punta Barone fronts on the Tryrolean Sea with superb views of Stromboli and Panarea. As in Greece, it's pretty much all mountains and sea. The small hotel's been in Angela's family for a long time and she's the hostess with the mostess. Personal attention's her way. Her staff is great too. The location's perfect for this intimate island.
