We only stayed the one night on the way to Edinburgh. The owners were very pleasant and went to great lengths to keep us COVID safe. Masks, one way systems etc.. but no temperature checking , which surprised us. Room and bathroom were fine and spotlessly clean. Dinner was delicious. Check in time is from 4 pm, and they are not open in the middle of the day.
The House at Temple Sowerby proving to be an ideal break in our journey to The Highlands. Lovely village setting, beautiful property. Very comfortable, we enjoy the dinner menu and the full English breakfast is excellent. Covid 19 regulations well observed.
Came for my girlfriends birthday meal on a Sunday evening. We were greeted and served by Andy who was lovely, had a great sense of humour and was a fantastic host. The food was amazing and we were gutted when we were leaving. Great experience & meal. Will visit again when in the area!
We had a a lovely stay at the House at Temple Sowerby on our trip back from Scotland. All the staff that we came into contact with were fantastically polite and made us feel at home. We had a delicious dinner at the hotel restaurant - the monk fish starter was a highlight and the cheese board was a great way to end the meal. The hotel was very accommodating to our family dog too. We enjoyed walking in the area around the hotel and would definitely stay there again when in the area.
Stopped off for a single night while cycling in the area. We had booked an evening meal which although was expensive was excellent and comparable to a top level restaurant. We ate in the private garden. Breakfast was also very good. Good COVID-19 compliance.
