Lovely family run hotel. We broke down and they looked after us. Nothing was too much trouble. The food was home cooked with a full English breakfast. The rooms were clean and comfy Definitely recommend. The scenery is beautiful and has easy access to walks and local attractions
Stayed here on walking break, what a fab place. The family really make the place and were so friendly and helpful. Great home cooked, which after a day's walking, really hit the spot. An area that I did not know and ti is a wonderful secret.
Eleven friends and I used the George Borrow as our base for walking in the Cambrian Mountains. We stayed four nights and were delighted with all aspects of our stay. It was terrific and owners could not have been more accommodating. A big thank you to Karen and Clare
A 2 star hotel with a 5 star welcome. We stayed for a 1 night getaway and were not disappointed. A very tasty homemade evening meal next to a roaring open fire in the bar, a good nights sleep followed by a hearty breakfast. Fantastic friendly hosts, a real home from home. Thank-you for your hospitality, we will definitely be back Chris and Jan
This was our first experience of staying in this lovely old hotel. The hotel is in a very beautiful setting with lovely mountain views and a pretty waterfall can be seen from the garden. It would be lovely to eat outside if weather was good which sadly this time was not. Parking is pretty good and the lady who greeted us was very friendly and helpful. On entering our room on a cold, wet night we were disappointed to find it very cold, there were two radiators but neither was on. The room did warm up fairly quickly once we turned them on. On the plus side the room was very clean and in good decorative order, beds were comfortable and there was a good hospitality tray. Extra tea, coffee, biscuits etc. plus loo rolls were all on the landing for you to help yourself to, a nice touch. Disappointing shower room, extremely small with a fairly flimsy sliding door which didn’t shut tightly so not much privacy using the loo. The extractor didn’t work. Unfortunately neither did the bedside lights and there was no reception on the TV, all we could get was Radio 4! Breakfast was very nice but ended at 9:15, pretty early for a Sunday morning. The dining room is really pleasant and has a beautiful view. This hotel would be a good base for walkers as the area is stunning. The only real disappointment was the shower room. .…
