They have a 6% credit card charge and no WiFi. Situated one end of the waterfront, up on the hill with some decent breezes. You can hire snorkel a set and reef shoes for 200 pesos on the beach (£3 total), so no need to carry your own. Breakfast, lunch and dinner all very good, with all options on the menu to choose from. The pizzas are a bit different to usual (still tasty though) and we had a lunch of fantastic but basic fish and chips. They provide a locker for valuables, but bring your own padlock. Hotel info states that electric and showers are available from 6pm to 10pm only, but room 5 upper had running water all day, and a fan all of the second day.

I spend 2 nights at Liberty and I completely loved it!! You can have a package incl 3 meals and a room. The meals are good, and big! The views are amazing and the people so friendly! They have a bucket shower and electricity from 6pm till 10pm. Please be advised that this is a very small island and has no running water. Everything comes from the mainland so be aware of some back to basic lifestyle. If you're a diver, the dives will be reduced in price and, for where you are, are very cheap! I had Rick as my divemaster and it's the best one I've ever had! Wasn't really comfortable diving anymore but having him around completely changed that! He practiced skills with me and was always making sure I was ok. The dives were out of this world! Corals as far as the eye can see, and with the visibility here, that's far!! Turtles, schools of jackfish, nudibranch, pufferfish etc etc. But especially the corals... Waaw!!! PLEASE BE MINDFULL HERE!! Don't touch fish or corals, mind your fins, so many other divers can explore what you've seen for many years to come. This is a very exquisite place to visit so treat it with respect!!

This lodge is simple accommodation - no running water and limited electricity (but cell phone reception!) - but our room was clean with marvelous views. Staff were friendly and helpful - it has its own boat of the island every morning. The dive shop was helpful and allowed us to return our gear the following day. The lodge had a good vibe and staff were helpful. Restaurant had great views and the food was perfectly fine.

Apo island was a blast. Definitely, Liberty´s Lodge added value to this. We initially arrived for an one night stay, finally stayed a second night. we got a private bathroom room, first floor, breathtaking views of the sea. The terrace was an excellent place to sit and chill with a book, or have an afternoon siesta. Great value for money, considering the limitations of Apo islands (limited electric power hours, no running water etc). Room was clean, simple and tidy. The bed was very comfortable, I really enjoyed sleeping. It was very easy to book, a phone-call and an email. They arranged us the boat trip, they have been waiting for us in Malatapay and had sent a driver to pick us up from the airport, then get us to the port. The sea was a mess but the boat was stable and it took us 1 h but arrived in great shape (30 min usually). The restaurant has good value dishes, very tasty food, you can ask full pension included in the room price, about 1100-1200 PHP pp per night. we consider it great value for money. The diving center, Paul´s, just at the entrance, offers great service. Well maintained equipment, huge variety of dives to choose from, great service from all divemasters who are welcoming and kind.

Two nights here is more than enough! The bathroom was grubby, no fresh water to wash or even brush your teeth with. We had the sea deluxe room and there was honestly nothing deluxe about it! The staff are rude, they throw the menus down on the table in front of you. You will wait over an hour for your food and they will choose who to serve first. They will also stand and chat amongst themselves ignoring that you are stood waiting to ask for a bottle of water. However the turtles and Paul’s dive centre are fantastic and made our stay on Apo Island.
